2The Hearing
Alexis meets with her lawyers in preparation for the preliminary hearing on the burglary charge against her. At the hearing, after questioning an LAPD detective, Alexis's lawyers move for the charges to be dismissed. The judge denies the motion, meaning that Alexis will have to go to trial. Meanwhile, musician Ryan Cabrera invites Tess to go bowling with him. She is excited about the date, but it doesn't go as she hoped. Also, after receiving a complaint from the homeowners' association about the police and paparazzi presence that the family has attracted, Andrea decides that the family should move to somewhere where they won't be subjected to such attention. Gabby is distraught about the prospect of moving, but Jerry helps her see the move in a more favorable light.
5What Happens in Cabo, Stays in Cabo
A promoter invites Tess and Alexis to host a party for charity in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Gabby wishes she could go too, but her sisters tell her that she wouldn't be able to have a good time there because she's underage. Andrea advises Alexis to check with her lawyer, Jeff, before going. Jeff warns Alexis against going to Mexico, but she and Tess decide to go anyway. When they arrive in Cabo, they do a photo shoot for Cabo Social magazine, and then host the party. The party is a success, and Alexis meets a guy there named Javier, with whom she hits it off immediately. The next day, she and Javier go swimming with dolphins. Tess is somewhat disappointed to be left alone, particularly because Max, the guy she's been dating, isn't returning her calls or text messages. Alexis wants to spend as much time as possible with Javier before they have to go home, but her plans are interrupted when she gets a message to call Jeff, her lawyer. Jeff tells her that photos of her partying in Cabo have been circulating and that she needs to cut short her trip and be in his office the next day. She tells Javier that she has to leave early due to an emergency, and she and Tess leave for home. In the meantime, while Tess and Alexis are in Mexico, Andrea and Jerry take Gabby to a Mexican restaurant, which Gabby finds utterly boring.
9And So It Is
Alexis goes to court for another proceeding in her burglary case. She is offered a six-month jail sentence if she pleads guilty, but she says that she refuses to plead guilty to something she didn't do. Meanwhile, Tess is selected for a swimsuit modeling job in Florida. She wants to invite Alexis to come with her, but Andrea says Alexis can't go because of her schedule of legal appointments. Andrea finds a bottle of Xanax near Alexis's purse, and she, Tess, and Gabby try to do an intervention for Alexis to make her realize she has a drug problem. The intervention goes poorly with everyone winding up screaming or crying. Later, Tess and Alexis go to a restaurant where Alexis admits that she's been so stressed by her case that she's been taking Xanax and other medications to get to sleep. Alexis agrees to see Dr. Reef, an addiction specialist, in order to deal with her drug dependency. Later, Gabby sees on the Internet that Orlando Bloom is going to testify against Alexis for burglarizing his house. Alexis despairs that nobody is going to believe her over a major celebrity like Bloom. On the day of the trial, Alexis pleads "no contest" in order to take a plea bargain. She is sentenced to 180 days in jail and three years of probation. Alexis is not required to report to jail until June 24, and so she returns home where the whole family embraces each other.
