Raised in Iowa and initially a pianist, Kathryn Marlowe was brought to Hollywood by Fred Astaire to join him at RKO studios. She starred (as Kay Kimber) in Two for the Show on Broadway, and High Button Shoes in London, among others. After a brief marriage to band leader Roy Fox, from which she had two children, she moved back to Iowa to raise her family. She served as production manager (as Kay Rea) at KTVO TV in Iowa. She married Jim O'Keefe, who adopted her children. She resides in Florida.
