Born Christine McClure in Sydney, Australia, an actress, acting coach and now screenwriter. Her love for acting began at the age of twelve doing Shakespeare plays. Then in 1969, working as Elli Maclure, began a professional acting career starring in a television pilot for Screen Gems. In 1976 she made her first visit to the USA. After many years is now a dual citizen.Elli acted in feature films and theater, also starred in television series, numerous guest appearances and pilots in her native Australia, Europe and the US. She's worked with directors John Cassavetes, Richard Donner, Francis Coppola, Peter Bogdanovich, Mike Robe, Peter Weir, Simon Wincer, George Miller, Tim Burstall, Richard Franklin and John Power. Co-starred in an Italian feature with Claudia Cardinale, starred in a Spanish feature with Antonio Ferrandis.After studying with John Lehne, known as one of the 'Twenty Master Teachers of America' and a member of The Actors Studio, in 1990 Christine began teaching 'Method for Young Actors' classes in Los Angeles and San Francisco.Since 1990 Christine's students have acted lead roles in feature films opposite actors Robert DeNiro, Mel Gibson, Robin Williams, Tom Cruise, Dan Akroyd, Julie Harris, Nicole Kidman, Susan Sarandon, Kim Basinger, George Clooney, Jim Carey, Melissa Leo; and with directors Nancy Myers, Tony Scott, Robert Zemeckis, Sophia Coppola, Stanley Kubrick and others...Students received Best Actress and Actor Awards and Nominations in Hollywood's Young Artists Awards, Young Stars and MTV Awards - in feature films Halloween H20, True Friends, in TV series - Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Maloney, Boston Public; have booked roles in feature films, appeared as series regulars in twenty series, numerous pilots, episodic television, sitcoms and soaps.In 1999 Los Angeles Film School opened its doors, Christine taught directors 'Working with Actors'. During this time directed her students in production of 'Hamlet' in which she acted the role of Gertrude, later moving on to play Gertrude at the Globe Theater, Los Angeles. Also directed a film theater interactive piece 'Killing and Conscience'.After a period in Australia 2001 to 2006, where Christine acted again and taught 'Acting for Camera at Nirimba TAFE College, she began a new phase of her career as a screenwriter. Screenplays 'Rules of Silence' - presently being packaged, 'Lamentar', and has written a film adaptation of the novel 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall'by Anne Bronte.
