Eddie Ruiz was born on July 13 at White Memorial Hospital in Boyle Heights. He attended the all boy school Salesian High School on Soto Street. Eddie Ruiz was born on July 13 at White Memorial Hospital in Boyle Heights. He attended the all boy school Salesian High School on Soto Street. His acting training began at Cal State Fullerton's and after completing a B.A. in Acting he was promptly accepted into the prestigious MFA Acting program at The Central School of Speech and Drama in London, UK where past graduates include Sir Laurence Olivier, Gael Garcia Bernal and Judy Dench.During his college years, Eddie worked in various stage productions all over Mexico and Los Angeles. He quickly landed his first TV role on Disney's "That's So Raven" as Barry: The Mascot which was directed by Fred Savage. After his return from London, he appeared in the award winning short film, "Russel Fish: The Sausage and Egg Incident" with GLEE star Chris Colfer (Kurt). The film was an official selection at The Action On Film International Film Festival(AOF), Palm Springs International Shortfest, Austin Film Festival, Detroit/Windsor International Film Festival, New Filmmakers Los Angeles, NYC Downtown Short Film Festival, and Los Angeles Comedy Festival. Eddie was nominated for his role of "Jorge De La Mancha" as Best Supporting Actor in "Russel Fish" at the AOF.Eddie has been in over 30 productions as well as several films and television shows and has received many great reviews and acknowledgments for his work. He can be seen in the recent DVD release of Zula Entertainment's "Trapped in 5150". He recently shot the feature film "Drive-By Chronicles:Ghostown" with award winning director/writer Kenneth Castillo ("Cholo Chaplin") and an AFI short "Guerilla Garden" with Casting Director Twinkie Tracy Byrd.He is now busy performing with four well respected theatre companies. He is in Pinocchio as Pinocchio with Will & Company, playing Verges in Tony Plana's Much Ado About Nothing with East LA Classic, and recently played Martinez in Ray Bradbury's The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit with the Pandemonium Theatre Company.Eddie lives in Hollywood, CA where he recently started a theatre and film company called Theatroline Players where he is producing, directing and starring in upcoming productions at The Frida Khalo Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles.
