Darrell M. Smith is the all American actor. He begin his career by studying at Stella Adler drama school in New York City where such greats as Marlon Brando and Robert Deniro studied. Then he did off-Broadway with The Potomac Theatre Company in Washington D.C. then with the Negro Ensemble Theatre Company in New York City. Darrell M. Smith is the all American actor. He begin his career by studying at Stella Adler drama school in New York City where such greats as Marlon Brando and Robert Deniro studied. Then he did off-Broadway with The Potomac Theatre Company in Washington D.C. then with the Negro Ensemble Theatre Company in New York City. His first taste of Film was when an NYU film student at that time approached him to participate in his thesis film as one of the executive producers for a film called "highs and Lows" which happened to be Justin Bartha who plays alongside Nicholas Cage in National Tresure as Riley Poole and Fauilure to launch". Then Darrell went on to play a role of a boxer in a pilot called "the Contender" directed by Hugh Wilson and produced by Tim Reid which didn't get picked up. After that stint Darrell re-located to LA and did some work on the long running TV show "jag". When time was up for Jag, he moved back home to New York City and wrote, produced, directed, and starred in his own film called "one More Chance" which was nominated for best film at some festivals, which caught the attention of casting from HBOs series "The Wire". Currently he has a re-curring Role as Officer Turner on "The WIre" and several big movie offers on the table.Darrell M.Smith resides in New York City and part-time in Los Angeles and is a new member of the Labyrinth Theatre Company in New York City when not on film.
