The acting bug bit Tanjareen at the young age of 6. While portraying a Gingerbread Man in her school's production of Hansel & Gretal, she realized her ability & desire to engage audiences. Even though "Gretal" could not remember her lines, Tanjareen knew them backwards & forwards. Even though "Gretal" could not remember her lines, Tanjareen knew them backwards & forwards. However, since the role of Gretal was being played by the principal's niece, little TJ learned the meaning of nepotism at an early age. At home, Tanjareen would sing & act into a potato-masher while dancing in the hallway mirror. Not shying away nor missing a beat if someone else entered the room, it soon became obvious that Miss Martin was destined to be a performer. She began taking acting classes after school, which led to her performing in several local plays. Tanj continued to do equity waiver (i.e. free!) theatre throughout junior high and high school. But, she promised herself (i.e. her momma!) that she'd obtain a college degree before she seriously pursued her dream. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in TV/Film, Tanjareen was hired by her internship at Paramount Pictures. Thanks to this job, she was asked to model bikinis on a daytime talk show. Shortly after, Ms. Martin was offered a role on an MTV sketch comedy send-up. These opportunities left her with one option: Escape the 9 to 5 (i.e. The Plantation!). And here she is...
