1Battle Lines
28 Jan 2013
Description ▼Sue Ellen wraps up a speech for her gubernatorial campaign, she's 12 points ahead in the polls. John Ross saunters over to a bachelorette mid-party at a nightclub and essentially dares her to make out with him. The next morning, he leaves her bed and her house, ignoring her suggestion he go out the back door. He finds her dad, Mr. Cartwell, in his study and blackmails him with threats to reveal the liaison to make Cartwell sell him his trucking fleet. At the race track, Christopher takes a methane powered car around the track to impress Ricky Rudd. Christopher wants to get the city's fuel contract and thinks showing off with a race car is a good step. J.R. makes himself at home in John Ross' office. He's pleased his advice to seduce Cartwell's daughter worked. Bobby, Elena and Christopher show up. John Ross put in a $50 million bid for Cartwell and Christopher says the money was earmarked for his methane rig. John Ross doesn't see immediate profit in methane, but Bobby sides with Christopher, settling the issue. The men each have 30% of the company; Elena has 10%. Christopher talks to John Ross alone, making clear his intentions to get him out of Ewing Energies. When Christopher leaves, John Ross texts Clyde that Christopher is leaving. John Ross makes a pitch to Elena for civility, but she's not feeling forgiving. Christopher goes to see Lou, his lawyer. He had the real Rebecca Sutter flown in from Des Moines after visiting her. She's prepared to testify to help him get an annulment and try to get custody of fake Rebecca's unborn twins, but she doesn't want her brother Tommy to get in trouble. Christopher agrees not to press charges.Christopher is putting her up in a hotel to surprise Rebecca. Someone in a truck watches real Rebecca leave Lou's office. Ann checks out art she had commissioned for Bobby. Her ex Harris finds her. He reveals he found their daughter -- alive. If Ann gives him back the tape she made for Sue Ellen of him admitting to laundering money, he'll tell Ann where she is. He shows her pictures of their daughter Emma, posing with her dressage horse. He says he already ran DNA to prove Emma is his daughter. He gives her 48 hours to turn over the tape. Clyde turns over his surveillance photos of Emma to John Ross, who says he has a score to settle with Christopher. Back at Southfork, Ann reels from Harris' news. She tells Bobby that 22 years ago she had a daughter named Emma. When Emma was 18 months old, she was snatched at the state fair and never found. She explains that Harris wants the tape. Bobby worries Harris is lying, but suggests they check Ann's DNA, too. Christopher and Elena relax in the pool at night. He's optimistic the annulment will work out.Elena gently tells Christopher she thought John Ross was right about vertically integrating the company by buying Cartwell. She wants to be a full partner in Ewing. Christopher tells her to come up with a big idea. Rebecca Barnes helicopters back into Dallas. Frank greets her. They want a divorce, not an annulment, so she'll get some Ewing money. She stayed away to lull Christopher into a false sense of security."But now I'm ready to make an entrance," she says. In the morning, Carmen takes a call from Rebecca's lawyer setting up a meeting. Elena goes to talk to a businessman named Mark about fixed oil platforms in the Gulf. She's interested in four his company owns that are drilled dry. Per government regulations, the company has five years to tear them down at a cost of $5 million per rig. But she wants to buy them, with the sea bed leases. Bobby and Christopher go to meet Rebecca at her lawyer's office -- Barnes Global. Frank greets them outside and escorts them in to see Rebecca. She explains her middle name is Rebecca, but her name is Pamela Rebecca Barnes and Cliff Barnes is her father. She tells Christopher she fell in love with him. She says she doesn't want his money, but wants to share custody of the twins. Cliff thinks that because Christopher created Ewing Energies when they were together, she's entitled to 30% of the company. Christopher argues her fraud will guarantee annulment. Threats are exchanged. At a family meeting, J.R. is skeptical about the legal system working against Cliff Barnes. John Ross says they have his support. Christopher tells John Ross to re-encrypt all the methane plans and make fakes just in case. Later, Clyde calls John Ross with news. Home alone, Ann looks through her box of memories of her daughter. She gets a call with good news about her DNA.She goes to Sue Ellen's house to tell her, but Harris is waiting. They turn over the tape. Sue Ellen warns Harris she won't do his bidding as governor.Harris turns over Emma's address. At the race track, Ricky tells Christopher he loves his methane car. Ann comes back to Southfork, and tells Bobby what she's done. He tells Ann he would have handled Harris and gotten her daughter back "because you don't negotiate with a terrorist." With the election tomorrow, Sue Ellen's campaign HQ hears a news report that Dr. Varun Rasmussen, the medical examiner, accepted a bribe from Sue Ellen to declare Marta Del Sol's death a suicide instead of murder. Her rival Sam McConaughey, makes plenty of hay out of it. Bobby and Ann go to talk to Emma and find her with her horse at a fancy farm. Emma knows who Ann is, but says she was hoping not to see her ever again. John Ross drops in on Pamela, saying they want the same thing: To destroy Christopher and Elena. "Yes, but you forget we hate each other," Pamela says. He suggests they work together to take Ewing Energies. She asks what he has to offer. He goes to the elevator and introduces the real Rebecca Sutter.
2Venomous Creatures
28 Jan 2013
Description ▼Christopher refinishes his childhood crib and thanks Elena for being understanding about the whole "having twins with someone he's still married to" thing. John Ross drops by on his way to scare the reporters off Sue Ellen's lawn after she lost the election. The annulment hearing is today. Ann is a wreck in bed, sobbing over her daughter. A doctor gives her a shot to calm her down. Bobby promises her he'll find out what happened with Emma.Derrick from Dallas PD updates Bobby, saying there's nothing in the file about Emma Ryland being found. Sue Ellen packs up her campaign signs and pours herself from white wine. She dumps it out when John Ross and JR show up. John Ross blames himself, since he's the reason she had to bribe the ME. JR assures her she's overcome worse, including alcoholism, but she's worried about getting indicted for bribery. JR promises to keep the state attorney from pressing charges.John Ross gets a text from Pamela, offering to meet up. When they leave, Sue Ellen pours out her wine. Pamela interrupts a Barnes Global meeting led by Frank to announce they're turning away from casino development and into clean energy, per her father's wishes. At the annulment hearing, Pamela's lawyer argues she had legally changed her name to Rebecca Sutter so she wasn't lying after they reconciled. Lou calls the real Rebecca Sutter to the stand, who says Pamela tried to fix things with Christopher. Christopher flips out, warning her he'll go after Tommy when he finds him. The judge rules against annulment and schedules divorce proceedings. Christopher chases after Pamela. "You wanted a war, you've got one," he says. John Ross meets Pamela up in her limo, contrary to her text dictating terms. John Ross wants the shares of Ewing Energies she'll get in the divorce, but she says her dad Cliff wants them to lord over JR.In exchange John Ross promises her every penny of profit from the methane. She says again that any deal they make will be on her terms. JR drops in on Peter Bedford, the state attorney, at a country club. Peter says he can't help with Sue Ellen then goes to make his tee time. Bobby and Lou meet with Harris and his lawyer. Harris is scheduled to meet with the police tomorrow, but won't give Bobby any details on Emma. He warns Bobby that if Ann asked for a shot to calm her down, it's a slippery slope. At home, Elena tells Christopher that she closed the deal on the oil platforms. They're sitting on methane pockets and they'll save millions by converting instead of building. After a Barnes Global meeting, Frank is unhappy with Pamela for horning in on the business. JR interrupts them and as Frank leaves, Frank tells Pamela he knows who she shared a ride with yesterday. JR warns her she'll be dealing with him if she goes after Ewing Energies. "You're not the first Pam to fox her way into the henhouse. I'm one for one in flushing out Pamelas, and I plan on being two for two," he tells her. As he passes Frank on his way out, JR taunts him: "How's it feel to be a poodle?" Bobby goes back to the stables where they met Emma and shows her picture around, but no one has seen her. Then he recognizes her horse and learns that it and Emma both just came in from London. Pamela brings Rebecca Sutter a big bag of cash for flipping on Christopher and suggests she get out of town. Sue Ellen pours her heart out to Ann. Meanwhile, on the golf course JR interrupts the state attorney's round of golf to bring up a charity golf event last year that had pretty girls in a hospitality tent. A caddie took pictures, and JR shows them to Peter. John Ross is annoyed to see Christopher, Bobby and Elena meeting without him. Elena explains her deal for the platforms, which frees up enough cash for John Ross to buy the trucking fleet and Christopher to start his methane operation. Bobby and Christopher have decided to give Elena a portion of their shares. John Ross thinks about it and says Elena has earned it. He suggests they each give 5%, making them all equal partners. Elena hugs him. Christopher is suspicious when he sees John Ross leave. He asks Jill to cozy up to John Ross's secretary. He wants to know what John Ross's up to. John Ross explains his plan to JR. Elena is deeply in debt to Sue Ellen and until she pays it off, her assets -- including her shares -- are vulnerable. JR wants some of the company after John Ross and Sue Ellen take it over. A courier brings Christopher a package, saying the sender told them to delay it for a month. It's a cell phone from Tommy Sutter with a note saying "If anything should happen to me, you deserve to know the truth. Check the voicemail." Someone from the stables calls Bobby about the horse, who's been winning competitions for eight years. Emma Brown has been riding him. Harris Ryland owns the horse. Ann joins Bobby, saying she's skipping the shot. She asks if he has news, but he says there is none. Christopher drops in on Rebecca Sutter in her hotel room, where his PI found her. He plays a threatening voice mail from Pamela to Tommy, warning him she knows people who can make him disappear. There's also a voice mail from Becky reminding Tommy he said she'd get a cut of the Ewing money if she let Pamela use her name. Christopher tells Becky they're going downtown so she can file a missing persons report for Tommy and recant her testimony. JR drops in on Sue Ellen late. She thanks him for convincing the state's attorney not to press charges and invites him in for tea. John Ross drops in on Pamela's penthouse. They trade offers back and forth for her Ewing shares after the divorce, in exchange for Christopher's methane patent. She kisses him, he takes her offer of 70% and leaves. The elevator begins its descent, but heads back up. He's back in her penthouse with his shirt off in her arms in no time. The courier who brought Christopher the package reports to Frank, who pays him off in drugs. Bobby visits Harris Ryland's house and meets his mother, Judith Brown Ryland (Judith Light). She says they gave Emma a proper upbringing. Bobby sees a picture of Emma as a young girl with Harris. Bobby realizes Judith and Harris are the ones who snatched Emma at the fair. They raised her in secret. Emma joins them and says her father "saved" her from her mother.
3Sins of the Father
04 Feb 2013
Description ▼Chris escorts Rebecca Sutter to the police station to file a missing persons report on Tommy, but she worries about getting him in trouble. Hes sure Pamela did something to Tommy. He reminds her if she doesnt file the report, hell put her in prison, too. They meet with a detective. Chris plays the voice mail from Pamela to Tommy threatening to make him disappear. At Southfork, Bobby comes home with bad news for Ann. He tells her that Harris took Emma and the police are going to talk to her tomorrow. Bobby tries to convince Ann to reach out to her daughter and try to undo the damage Harris has done. John Ross wakes up in Pams bed, ready for round two. She kicks him out, she has work to do. He wants to put their deal in writing, but she still doesnt trust him. Lets not consider this work, lets consider this screwing over Chris and Elena and stealing Ewing Energies right out from under them, John Ross says. They settle for round two. Bobby and Ann head to the police station and find Judith waiting for them. You were nothing but an egg donor for Harris, you were never worthy to be his wife, Judith tells Ann.There was only one woman good enough for that job, isnt there? Too bad its a crime to marry your son, Ann seethes. Bobby threatens to go after Judith as soon as Harris is in prison. Ann talks to Emma in an interview room. Shes angry to be forced to talk to Ann. Harris told Emma that Ann was a drug addicted, depressed, hopeless mess.Ann says she was, because Harris made her believe she should blame herself. She took tranquilizers, but it made things worse. When I lost you, I died inside, Ann says. You seem to have recovered quite nicely, Emma snarls. Ann spent years looking for Emma, she shows her all her baby things and news clippings. I think youve confused love with guilt, Emma says, and asks Ann to leave her and her father alone. Back at Southfork, JR learns up on cloud computing, so he can access dirt Bobby has on him, and goes over the loan agreement from Sue Ellen to Elena. If Elena defaults, Sue Ellen can take all her shares of Ewing Energies. John Ross doesnt think his mom will go for it, so JR encourages his son to get Sue Ellen riled up over the girl who broke his heart. In the kitchen, Chris gets word from his lawyer Lou that theyre scheduling time to get Rebecca Sutter back on the stand. Carmen is excited to see her son Drew walk in the door; Chris is less so. He says hes back in town for good. John Ross drops in on his mom at the office and suggests Elena is neglecting drilling on the Henderson property that she lent her money for. Sue Ellen says vengeance wont heal a broken heart and after 17 years married to JR she knows when shes being played. Still, she suggests its time to show Elena who shes dealing with. Elenas older brother insists hes given up drinking. With Chris out of earshot, Drew tells Elena he wants to drill on their fathers land. She has to tell him that it doesnt have oil on it and their mother sold it to Bobby years ago. Rebecca Sutter goes to Pams office and tells her about the voice mails Chris has.She wants $1 million to leave town before shes scheduled to recant her testimony. Later, a detective questions Pam about her threatening voice mail for Tommy. She says she was worried Chris might hurt Tommy if he didnt leave town since Tommy had hit her before. At Ewing Energies, Elena tells Chris about Drews plans for their fathers old land. He wants to prove that my dad didnt die drilling a dry hole, he still feels guilty about his death, Elena says.Drew was there when his dad died and blames himself. Pam tells Frank to pay off Rebecca Sutter. Sue Ellen drops by Elenas office, giving her a month to find oil on the land before she calls in the loan. When Elena relays the conversation to Chris, Jill reports that John Rosss secretary said hes been calling his mom a lot lately. Chris gets word that the cops found something at Pams old condo. He heads over and finds forensic teams examining the place. The cop tells Chris about Pams ploy to pin Tommys disappearance on him. He shows Chris the traces of cleaned up blood spatter in the floor boards and grate, high velocity spatter indicating someone was shot. Theyll try to match it to Tommy. Chris texts Rebecca, telling her about the blood and that she could be in danger. She packs furiously and calls a cab. She finds Frank at her hotel door. Elena finds Drew on their old land. She suggests Drew help her drill on the Henderson land. At a bar, John Ross sidles up to the drilling foreman on Elenas Henderson rig. He mentions the salt dome they hit. He suggests a faulty GPS on the rig could make drilling around it difficult. John Ross says hed consider it a favor if they didnt hit oil there for awhile. He gives him a roll of cash. Frank comes home to find JR waiting for him. He suggests Frank helped Pam clean up after Tommys death. He makes a pitch to Franks wounded pride, assuming hes angry watching Pamela take his place at Barnes company. JR wants to know where the body and the gun are.Ill make sure they pop up. You get your place back at Barnes Global table and I make sure that girl doesnt get a piece of Ewing Energies, JR says. He suggests their hatred of Pamela puts them on the same side and says hell be expecting Franks call. The cop calls Chris and tells him it was Tommys blood at Pams condo. Hes now investigating a homicide. At the hearing, the judge is ready to toss the annulment case because Rebecca is late. Chris cant reach her. At Southfork, another cop breaks the news to Bobby that theres nothing they can do to Harris for kidnapping Emma since the statute of limitations has passed. Ann hears and leaves. Bobby goes to JR for help with a way to bring Harris down. Dont you worry, little brother. Its going to be my masterpiece, JR says. John Ross visits Pam at her office. Becky was a no show at the hearing. John Ross has heard about the evidence Tommy was shot. He knows Tommy had hit her and asks if there was a fight and she was protecting herself. He says hes just protecting their deal, then picks her up and kisses her on her desk. Ann visits Harris Ryland at his house. He gloats over Emma, then checks Ann for a wire. She asks why he took Emma.Because you were about to leave me, and after all I did for you, turning a gangly raw boned girl into a proper woman, Harris says.Broken puppet, Ann says. There was no way you were going to make a fool out of me by leaving, you had to pay a price. The look on your face right now, its priceless, he says. He taunts her over all the moments in Emmas life that she missed. She takes a gun out of her purse and shoots him in the chest. She leaves him bleeding on the floor.
4False Confessions
18 Feb 2013
Description ▼Moments after being shot in the gut by Ann, Harris Ryland lies on the floor bleeding. Hit mother Judith finds him and screams to Emma to call 911. Ann makes it home in a daze and runs upstairs to furiously wash her hands. Bobby finds her, with the gun on the counter next to her. "What the hell have you done?" he asks."I overheard you with Rolly. I couldn't let Harris get away with it. I shot him, Bobby," she says. The police knock at the door. Harris is in critical condition. Ann's car was seen leaving his house. From the top of the stairs, Ann is stunned to learn he's not dead. Bobby prevents her from answering any questions."I'm the one that you want to talk to, I shot Harris Ryland," Bobby tells the police. The police cuff Bobby and he asks for a minute with Ann. Christopher hears Ann confess. Bobby explains it has to be this way because her daughter Emma would hate her forever if she found out Ann shot her father. In her office, Pamela looks for information on the police investigation into Tommy's death. She insists to Frank that it was self defense, but he assures her the investigation won't get far without Tommy's body.Frank is surprised to see John Ross getting out of Pamela's bed.Pamela whispers to Frank that if the police start in on her, Frank will be the one in trouble since he got rid of the body. Frank is not her biggest fan. Lou meets Bobby at the station. Christopher is frustrated that the police haven't charged Pamela yet for Tommy's death. Meanwhile, out in the woods, Frank digs up Tommy's body. He calls JR, eager to turn over the body and get rid of Pamela. He tells JR that John Ross is sleeping with her. Bobby's bail is set at $1 million.Judith taunts Ann. JR gets the news about Bobby. John Ross wonders if it'll be easier to get him out of Ewing Energies."You still got a lot to learn, boy. When the family's in trouble, we don't take advantage," JR lectures. John Ross tells JR he's working Pamela, but JR tells him he's a step ahead, working with Frank to get rid of Pamela. John Ross isn't happy and calls his mother. On the Henderson drilling site, Drew looks at the drilling map and sees that the foreman has changed their approach for drilling through the salt dome. When the foreman (who took money from John Ross to botch the drilling) argues, Drew fires him. John Ross asks Sue Ellen to put him in touch with Cliff Barnes. He says it's just business. She warns him if John Ross makes a move against JR with Cliff, he should be prepared to face the full weight of JR's fury."I did it and I paid for it for years," she says.John Ross says what he's protecting is worth it. She gives him Cliff's private number. The fired foreman, Brian, shows up at Ewing Energies. He tells John Ross they have a problem but tells Christopher he's there to see Elena. John Ross and Christopher have a brief evil-off of threats.John Ross calls Clyde to dig up dirt on Drew so he can get him fired. Back at Southfork, Bobby conferences with JR, who immediately guesses he's covering for Ann. JR offers to help with the judge if it comes to that. Elena comes in angry to Drew's office. He shows her the maps and she realizes Drew was right. John Ross meets with Cliff Barnes and tells him Frank is plotting against Pamela with JR. John Ross says he's looking out for Pamela. Cliff doesn't believe him. At the stables, Sue Ellen tries to reassure Ann, telling her not to give up on a relationship with Emma. Christopher finds Brian the foreman at the bar, and tries to get him to admit John Ross put him up to sabotaging the well. Brian denies it.A news report comes on the TV announcing Tommy's body has been found. At Southfork, Christopher is disturbed to think Pamela might have actually killed Tommy. Lawyer Lou stops by and tells them Harris filed a complaint earlier after Bobby threatened him. Because Lou was there, he's a witness and therefore can't represent Bobby, but he's already gotten him a new lawyer. And, with Bobby's earlier assault charge against Harris, it makes the shooting look premeditated. He's facing 20 years. At Harris's bedside, Judith tells comatose Harris that he should have done better than Ann. She vows to take Bobby away from Ann to punish her. John Ross gets turned away from Pamela's place by security and calls her. He tells her Frank is setting her up with JR's help. She tells him to go away. Police search the woods around where Tommy's body was found and find a gun. They run tests on it and the body. Pamela frantically packs up, including her passport. Police race to make an arrest. They knock on a door, but it's not Pamela's. They arrest Frank as Cliff goes to visit his daughter. Cliff visits Frank in lock-up. Frank accuses him of planting his prints on the gun and putting it where police would find it. Cliff asks Frank why he'd help JR."Ever since you put Pamela in charge, she's treated me like a dog," Frank says.Cliff says he should have come to him and that he raised Frank like a son to run the company with Pamela. Cliff tells Frank his family will be provided for, but he should do the honorable thing. Drew meets with someone from a company he used to drive for. Drew takes the keys to a big rig and drives off as Clyde watches. John Ross brings Brian an envelope of cash as his "severance." Brian warns him Christopher is after him. "It's good that he thinks he has a chance, that'll make it hurt more when he loses," John Ross says. At Southfork, Bobby defends his actions to Christopher. Harris wakes up to make a statement at the hospital. Lou comes to Southfork with the news. Ann tells Bobby to let her take responsibility and they tell Lou the truth about the shooting. In the hospital, Harris tells the police who shot him: Bobby.Lou also tells them Frank has been arrested for Tommy's death. Christopher goes to the arraignment -- John Ross and Pamela are also in the gallery. Frank tells the judge that Tommy lured Pamela into a con against the Ewing family and when she wanted out, Tommy threatened Pamela, so he killed him. He goes on to say he also killed the real Rebecca Sutter. In the gallery, Christopher starts shouting that the judge is letting Pamela get away with murder.Meanwhile, Frank takes a small pill from his jumpsuit, swallows it and starts convulsing. He drops to the carpet.
5Trial and Error
18 Feb 2013
Description ▼Ann storms into Harris' room at the hospital and rattles his bed, telling him to tell the police she's the one who shot him."You've taken my daughter, you want my husband now, too? Where does it end Harris, all these sick twisted games?" she asks."This is the price you pay... for thinking you can live in a world without my tender loving care," he tells her. Judith calls for security and they hustle Ann out. Emma hears Ann tells Harris she wishes he was dead. Out in the parking lot, Ann notices Harris' blood on her boots. She takes them to the police station and confesses. At the hospital, Emma asks her dad why he told the police Bobby shot him if he knew it was Ann. He chalks it up to the medication. He apologizes to Emma that she had to see her mother's "true nature" today. Judith also reminds Emma it's not her place to question. Pamela assures her dad that she won't let her emotions get in the way of them getting Ewing Energies. At Southfork, Lou tells the family that charges will be dismissed against Bobby and Ann will be indicted for shooting Harris. He wants to use an extreme passion defense and argue mitigating circumstances. They think it's a chance for Emma to hear the truth in court. Cliff Barnes calls JR and rats out John Ross for selling out his dealings with Frank. One Month Later The Ewings all head to court. Lou tells Ann that Harris is going to be allowed to testify. The trial against Ann begins. The prosecutor, Mrs. Carson, opens her case with Judith Ryland, who calls Ann a "gold digger and opportunist" who had affairs. She says Ann wanted an abortion. Lou objects to her testimony as hearsay and the judge agrees and calls a recess. In the hall, John Ross gets an update on Drew from Clyde. He's made four hauls to Laredo with a stop each time. There's a morals clause in Elena's contract that will allow them to void it if any of her employees engage in felonious behavior. John Ross thinks he has them. Christopher confronts Pamela in the hall after Lou says she's testifying as a character witness. He knows she had something to do with Tommy's death, but she says he hurt her after she was already pregnant. She threatens to move to Bermuda with the twins if Christopher doesn't stop vilifying her. Outside the courthouse, Pamela thanks John Ross for warning her father about Frank. He asks her to dinner, but she says her dad is against them being together and turns him down. Drew stops for coffee and Clyde takes the opportunity to bust out the truck's taillight. At the courthouse, Sue Ellen defends John Ross to JR, telling him to forgive his son for going to Cliff. John Ross and Bobby see Vicente Cano the Venezuelan (Carlos Bernard) being taken for an extradition hearing. They're livid, reminding the prosecutor he killed the fake Marta and put a hit out on John Ross. Back in court, a police officer testifies about the surveillance and forensic evidence and the brevity of Ann's trip to Harris' indicating the shooting was planned. His trauma surgeon also says it doesn't look like "sudden passion" because he wasn't shot multiple times. On the road, Drew gets pulled over. He doesn't have the certification stamp the troopers ask for, saying he's just a driver. They open his truck and search it as Clyde watches. The manifest says car parts, but it's full of smuggled purses and shoes. Sue Ellen testifies that she met Ann when she volunteered in her program for battered women, calling her kind. Pamela also speaks glowingly of Ann, saying she knows what it's like to feel cornered.Elena leaves to take a call from Drew. She visits him in jail and he insists he didn't know he was doing anything illegal. She goes to find a way to post his bail. JR corners John Ross in the bathroom, saying he's inclined to stay on "Cruella's" good side and forgive him. John Ross tells JR about Drew being arrested. JR enjoys the morals clause violation. John Ross is surprised his dad knows about it. Back in court, Harris takes the stand from a wheelchair with an oxygen tank on. Harris says Ann abandoned Emma to go out with friends once, leaving her alone and uncared for. On the day they took Emma from the state fair, Harris followed Ann and says he saw her walk away from Emma. Emma gets upset in the gallery. Harris insists he took Emma out of harm's way. During a recess, Bobby asks Ann about Harris' testimony. She says some of it is true and she wants to testify. Ann takes the stand, saying Harris was the first man who paid attention to her, wining and dining her. She says his dad killed himself before he was born and his mother controlled "his every breath." She says Judith interfered and put ideas in is head about Ann being a gold digger. "He began trying to control me the way that he had always been controlled," she says, yelling at her for things like how she did her hair. She was diagnosed with post partum depression after Emma was born. On that day, Ann left Emma with Judith so she could go see a divorce lawyer. Judith lied to Harris about it and when he found out about her plans to leave him, he made her see a shrink who put her on more medication. She went to the fair to get away from Harris and Judith and took too many pills. She stepped away for a few moments to get a soda and Emma was kidnapped. Outside the courthouse, Christopher approaches Emma, pointing out she's the same age Ann was when she was taken at the fair. Christopher urges her to tell the truth if she wants to put things right for Ann. Emma sees Judith and Harris coming and asks him to leave. Back in court, Emma takes the stand as a rebuttal witness. The prosecutor asks about Ann barging into Harris' hospital room. Emma testifies that Ann said she shot Harris and she's grateful her father rescued her from her mother. During another recess, Christopher and Pamela are left alone in the courtroom. Christopher tells her he doesn't want their kids to be raised with their parents poisoning their minds against each other. They agree to mediation. She lets him feel the babies kick. Later, back at her place, Cliff commends Pamela for getting Christopher to agree to mediation. Ann, Bobby, Christopher, Sue Ellen and Lou pass time at a restaurant waiting for the verdict. Ann thinks Emma sounded as brainwashed as she was back then. The jury reaches a verdict. In the morning, they read the verdict: guilty. Emma runs out of the court and Ann's taken into custody. She passes Vicente Cano in the jail hallway as they're lead in opposite directions. Ann is put in the transport van.

Description ▼Ann comes out in prison orange jumpsuit to see her visitor, Sue Ellen. Everyone is preparing something for her sentencing, where she's facing 20 years. Back in the courthouse lobby, Sue Ellen lays into Elena for not updating her on the drilling progress at the Henderson ranch. After Elena assures her she's on it, John Ross mentions his next move to his mother. Vicente Cano (Carlos Bernard) meets with the Colombia consulante, who is not happy he's being extradited. Later, Vicente checks with a consul security guard that everything is set for tomorrow to give the Ewings a "proper good-bye." At Ewing Energies, Pamela Barnes' attorney suggests she'll settle for half of Ewing Energies. Christopher wants joint custody, an annulment and 7 percent of the company. They settle on 10 percent and everything else he wants. The annulment will be granted by the court after the children are born. With his mom, John Ross explains Drew's violation of the morals clause of her contract with Elena, which would let Sue Ellen take over the Henderson drilling and her shares of Ewing Energies. Sue Ellen checks that John Ross didn't set Drew up. JR plays around with his tablet, emailing funny dog videos to Bobby from his room to cheer him up. Elena checks with Drew, who's set to plead guilty tomorrow. Christopher tells Elena about the mediation agreement. At Ann's sentencing, Bobby tells the jury about meeting Ann when she was doing charity work with battered women, using horses. The judge adjourns until tomorrow. Pamela tells her dad about her deal for Ewing Energies, making him proud. John Ross drops by. He's excited to swap her shares for his methane patent, like they agreed. But she's changed her mind."I defied my father to save you from a murder rap, don't turn your back on me now," he says. She says he'll still have an ally on the board, but he regrets not letting JR go after her. This means war. Bobby visits Emma as she rides at the stables. He invites her to Southfork, anytime. Christopher drops in on Drew and gives him grief about getting into trouble. Drew assures him he's not a screw up and was just trying to raise money to buy his father's land back from Bobby. He tells Christopher someone smashed his tail light out on purpose so he'd get pulled over. He tells Christopher about his bad feeling about the foreman who changed the drilling angle and slowed down their progress. They wonder who would benefit from keeping Elena from pumping the oil. The next day at the office, Christopher looks into Elena's deal with Sue Ellen. He finds the morals clause and calls Elena, who's in with Drew as he signs his plea. By the time Christopher explains what John Ross and Sue Ellen are up to, Drew has signed the deal. Elena lashes out at her brother. Vicente Cano gets picked up, ostensibly to get a ride to the airport. Instead, his man uncuffs him and gives him a gun to aid his escape. Emma visits Ann in jail. She can tell Emma is worried about something and tells her a story about Harris flipping out about her getting highlights. Ann assures her it'll get easier. Back at Southfork, Christopher tells Bobby what Sue Ellen and John Ross pulled. Sue Ellen shows up with paperwork. Bobby goes to confront JR but finds his room cleaned out. Bobby pulls out his cloud drive to show John Ross what he has on them, but when he tries to open it, the file erases. There was a virus in the email JR sent him. Pamela is listening outside when Vicente busts in with three armed thugs. He smacks John Ross. At the sentencing hearing, Ann is concerned when none of the Ewings are there and Lou can't reach them. Emma arrives. Back at Southfork, Vicente tells Christopher to send his employees home and then get the methane patent. He threatens Pamela, then Elena if Christopher isn't back in an hour. On the stand, Ann explains not all abuse is physical and what it was like to find out her daughter was alive. She apologizes to Emma and begs for a second chance. As they're held hostage, Elena asks John Ross why he screwed her out of the company."You broke my heart," he says."I saw the good in you when no one else did," she says. "Yea, well, the day you stopped was the day the good died." One of Vicente's armed men escorts Christopher to Ewing Energies. At Southfork, Bobby suggests to Sue Ellen that she could do the right thing. Harris paints a nasty picture of Ann at her hearing. Pamela explains to John Ross that she went back on their deal to make her dad happy. She asks if she was just revenge sex for him."Revenge sex was all I could afford," he says. At Ewing Energies, Christopher gets the prototype methane extractor and tosses it at the thug to distract him, tackling him. Christopher gets the gun, but the thug has his finger on a button to text Vicente to kill Elena. At the sentencing, the jury gives Ann probation. The judge lectures Judith and Harris for kidnapping Emma, saying he understands why Ann shot him.Ann worries that they can't reach any of the Ewings. The thug brings Christopher back to the ranch. Vicente announces he's taking Elena with him. Drew gets dropped off at Southfork and sees Vicente's helicopter landing and Elena being led away by Vicente. He gets his rifle. Inside, John Ross fakes going after Christopher as a distraction and the Ewing men all go after their captors. Christopher runs outside to Elena, decks Vicente and then covers her with his body as he braces himself to get shot by Vicente.A shot rings out, but it's not aimed at Christopher. Vicente is hit through the back by Drew. Outside, John Ross checks on Pamela. Bobby tells Sue Ellen that they're stronger together as a family. Ann arrives with her good news. At Ewing Energies, Bobby, Elena and Christopher are shocked when John Ross introduces his mother as the newest member of their board. She reminds him what he said about them being stronger together. "I never go looking for a fight, but when one finds me, I sure as hell finish it and they are in for the fight of their lives," Bobby vows.
7The Furious and the Fast

Description ▼JR calls John Ross from Abu Dhabi and hears that his son's takeover of Ewing Energies is complete. John Ross is going to hold off telling everyone he's giving his pops the corner office --he wants JR to be there to see the look on their faces. The Ewing Energies warring board members assemble in the conference room. Bobby lays down the law: a notice that Gary and Bobby are pulling the drilling rights on Southfork. Until they get back a controlling influence of the company, John Ross can't drill. John Ross, claiming the stoppage will cost Ewing Energies money, threatens to sell off Christopher's methane's patent and is confident he has Pamela's vote to do so. Christopher takes Pamela to the track to see his methane car race, saying he could land a multi-million dollar deal if his car wins. After speaking with JR, Sue Ellen tells John Ross that JR can't close his Abu Dhabi deal without the drilling on Southfork. John Ross is confident Pamela will side with them. John Ross's uncle Gary shows up at Ewing Energies. He has news, but not til JR gets back. Christopher gives his methane sales pitch to Alison Jones, hoping she'll convince her city committee to convert the city's fleet to methane. Drew joins Elena to apologize for contributing to getting her kicked out of the company. He still hasn't given up drilling on his father's old land. He wants to do updated 3D seismic mapping. Pamela tells John Ross that her dad isn't in favor of selling off the methane patent. John Ross expects her to change her mind when Christopher loses his race. Gary tells Bobby he fell off the wagon last year and that Valene left him and he's broke. He supports Bobby's play against Sue Ellen and John Ross but wants to make sure Bobby's plan will work. Bobby assures him it will, thanks him for his loyalty and offers him a loan. At the race track, Ricky Rudd thinks there's an issue with a car. His crew gets to work on it, while one of them looks shifty. Cut to Bum bringing John Ross info on the shifty crew member, Denny Boyd, who lost a lot of money at the track. Back at Southfork, Christopher updates Elena, who doesn't like that Pamela holds the deciding vote on his methane. He promises Elena she'll be back at the company soon. Denny comes home to find John Ross waiting for him. He'll pay Denny's debts in return for a favor. Harris and Judith tell Emma the trainer she wanted to work with in London has an opening for her. She's surprised to hear she's supposed to leave with Judith in the morning. Emma tries to look happy about having her life micromanaged. They're sending the car for her riding lesson and Judith plans to pack for her while she's gone. Sue Ellen chats up Gary, urging him to "protect his investments." She invites him to go to the race with her. Emma arrives at the stable, surprising Ann. She tells her mother about a time she wanted to get her hair cut and her grandmother made it clear she disapproved and made her feel ugly. Ann invites her for a ride. Back at the Ryland house, they assume Emma blew off her riding lesson to see Ann. Judith encourages Harris to quash Emma's curiosity, but without losing control."I won't let you lose our daughter," she says. Out on the trail, Emma enjoys freedom from dressage. She flings off her helmet and rides off with her mom. At the garage, Christopher and a mechanic finish fine tuning Ricky's car. They leave and Denny the gambler shows up. Drew begins his 3D mapping of his dad's old land. Emma wakes up to find her dad lurking. He knows she saw Ann and says he's not mad. She asks if they can get a trainer in Dallas."I have a right to know my mother," she says."No, you don't," Harris yells. He asks if she's been taking her meds, then feeds them to her, reminding her she gets panic attacks without them. He demands a hug and tells her she'll be in London tomorrow. Drew shares his mapping results with Elena, showing an oil reserve that might be too tight to drill. He invites her to go into business with him to find out. Sue Ellen gets old love letters from JR, and guesses he's jealous she's working on Gary. Bum updates JR about Denny. JR also asks what he has on "that rat" Harris Ryland. Bum assures him the pieces are falling into place. At the track, Ricky thinks the car seems good. Alison Jones and the city committee are there to see the race, as are all the Ewings. At the Ryland's, Judith barges into Emma's room when she doesn't answer to leave for their flight. It's empty. Gary questions why Sue Ellen is paying so much attention to him. At the Ryland's, Judith blames Harris for making Emma run off. She thinks it was a mistake for him to bring Emma back to the States to get the blackmail tape. Judith lays into her son for getting involved with Ann in the first place."I loved her because she wasn't you," he says, shoving his mom against the wall. Out on the track, the gas-powered cars all have to pit while Ricky's methane car keeps going. Ricky radios that something is wrong with the car. They check and see the car is running hot. Ricky pits. Christopher tells him they have to switch the engine. Denny gives John Ross a knowing nod. Christopher rushes to get a part from his prototype for Ricky's next pit. They race to install it in the car and Ricky rejoins the race a lap behind. He gains ground when the field makes a second pit. With three laps to go, Ricky is in second. He's still in second going into the last lap. He makes a high move on the other car and pulls ahead to win it. John Ross and Sue Ellen are stunned. There are cheers and congratulations all around. Alison tells Christopher the committee is convinced, as long as he can produce enough methane to fuel the city's fleet. Pamela says he has her support. Christopher asks Sue Ellen and John Ross if they're ready to give Elena her shares back. John Ross says they're calling his bluff and won't budge. Bobby and Ann arrive home to find Emma waiting for them with a suitcase. She asks if she can stay."Welcome home," Ann says, hugging her daughter. John Ross drowns his sorrows in a glass of Scotch. JR calls for an update. John Ross says they have a play to make with Alison. JR assures him he has a plan. "It's gonna be my masterpiece, because you shouldn't have to pay for my sins. Just remember, I'm proud of you. You're my son, from tip to tail," JR says. JR slowly lowers the phone as someone unseen comes in the room. John Ross hears two gun shots. He calls out to his father, but doesn't get an answer. (RIP, Larry Hagman.)
8JR's Masterpiece
11 Mar 2013
Description ▼A stunned Ewing family, including John Ross, Christopher, Bobby and Sue Ellen, helicopters to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. They're greeted by Marisa Ruiz with the federal police, and told JR arrived from Abu Dhabi two nights ago. They think he was shot during the commission of a robbery. They struggle to understand what JR was doing in Mexico. The customs declaration listed the reason for JR's visit as "quail hunting." The family is ushered into the heavily guarded Hotel Colon, which Sue Ellen immediately sees as not up to JR's standards. Bobby isn't even ready to believe JR is really dead, but Ruiz explains they found his cell phone. They all stare at the blood stained chalk outline on the floor. John Ross asks to see the body. They're ushered into the morgue, where the coroner shows them it's really JR. (Special somber music credits roll. And a bright shining Larry Hagman close-up closes them out.) At the police station, Bobby talks to Mr. Gilchrist with the consulate to see about bringing JR's body home. It could take a couple of days. Bobby turns to John Ross for answers, but all he knows is that JR said he was in Abu Dhabi and had a plan that was going to be his "masterpiece." Bobby sees his old friend Carlos, who promises to help them cut through the red tape and personally escort JR's body home. Back at Southfork, Harris Ryland pays a visit to Emma, who's staying there. He apologizes and asks her to come home, saying he'll "let" her visit Ann as much as she wants.Ann comes out and asks Harris to leave. Then Drew shows up and flashes a gun to make his point. Emma runs off."Tell your husband that he has no idea what he's started," Harris tells Ann as he leaves. The family comes back from Dallas. Bobby's distracted and makes excuses to get to work, saying he knows if anything goes wrong with the funeral planning he knows JR will haunt him. Christopher assures Ann that Bobby just needs space. Sue Ellen finds John Ross going through JR's room looking for answers. Sue Ellen warns him that he might have to prepare himself for the irony that JR was just shot by a petty criminal. She's ready to start in on Gary to get the oil drilling on Southfork turned back on. John Ross is appalled, asking her to "at least pretend to mourn him." Sue Ellen takes out the still unopened letter JR sent her. She contemplates the nearby decanter of booze. At JR's boozy wake, the gang's all there, including JR's half-brother Ray Krebbs and Lucy Ewing, the mayor of Dallas, Maverick's owner Mark Cuban and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who all have JR stories. Sue Ellen commiserates with JR's past loves, Cally (Cathy Podewell) and Mandy (Deborah Shelton). Elena and Christopher try to console John Ross, but he's too angry to talk and drinks his way through the service. He accosts Pamela Barnes, still angry that she sided with Christopher over selling the methane patent. He thinks she only cares about herself. John Ross gets angrier as he walks through the gathering and hears people speculating on how JR died. He finds Emma in the wine cellar about to pop a pill and takes one. She does, too. Sue Ellen sidles up to Gary, saying she needs him more than ever. They both struggle to avoid all the booze, including JR's favorite, bourbon and branch."JR always wanted everyone to get drunk at his funeral, thought it would make them honest," Sue Ellen says. There's a ruckus when Cliff Barnes comes in, wishing JR good riddance. Without their "junkyard dog," he warns Bobby, there's nothing stopping him from taking down the Ewings. Pamela interrupts her father, telling him it's enough."Look who's dancing on whose grave now!" Cliff says. A drunk proclaims that JR died the way he deserved, in the armpit of the world. John Ross is about to deck him, when Christopher steps in swinging. They younger Ewings brawl with mourners. Back at Southfork, Christopher assures John Ross they'll find out who killed JR and make him pay. The doorbell rings late at night and Carlos, Sgt. Ruiz, and Dr. Garcia the medical examiner arrive. They've concluded JR was the victim of a robbery. Witnesses saw him chatting up a woman, who he went to meet at the Hotel Colon. They think it's unlikely the killer will ever be found. John Ross leaves in a huff. He goes off to drink alone outside, but Emma joins him."You high?" he asks."And you're low," she says, taking a swig of his booze. She climbs into the backseat of a parked SUV and he joins her. Getting ready for bed, Ann tries to encourage Bobby to open up. He turns on her and starts yelling over the fact that she kept Emma from him, saying finding out make him feel insignificant. She tries to apologize, but he won't hear it. Sue Ellen goes into JR's room and takes out his letter again. She looks at an old picture of them, sits down by the bourbon and decides she needs a glass. Then another. The next day, everyone assembles at the graveyard to remember and bury JR. "When I found out JR was my half brother I didn't know whether to celebrate or shoot myself," Ray says."Things I thought were so horrible that JR did, just seem honest now. He never pretended to be anything other than himself," Lucy says."Every step forward or backward I ever took in my life was because of JR," says Gary. Christopher remembers the only time JR ever let him feel like a real Ewing, when he told him to act like one after his mother left when he was seven.Sue Ellen remembers falling passionately in love with the most "infuriating, charming, scoundrel I think I've ever known. It's enough to drive a girl to drink." She confesses she spent the night in JR's room last night, because she needed the courage to read the letter JR had sent. She tells everyone she had a drink to get through and kept going. "I'm a bit drunk now," she says, as she takes out the letter. She reads: "Old age has a way of humbling men. For me to apologize now for all the wrongs I've done you would take up all the time I've got left. So I'm hoping it'll suffice for me to say that I was never worthy of you, that I loved you the moment I saw you. And that I love you today more than I ever did. It is my greatest hope in life to earn a second chance with you, so what do you say: when I get back to Dallas, will you have dinner with me?" She breaks down crying as she tells him yes and that he was the love of her life. Finally, it's Bobby's turn. "Throughout my life it's pretty much been easy for me to do good, since I could always count on JR to do bad," he says. He's trying to figure out where he fits now. After the casket is lowered into the ground, John Ross sits alone, shell shocked. Christopher tries to talk to him. They watch as Bum pulls up. He has a message for John Ross -- from JR.It's a package. Back at Southfork, Bum opens it in front of Bobby, John Ross and Christopher."You all want answers. JR wanted you to have them. He really was in Abu Dhabi, closing an oil deal. But the reason he chose Abu Dhabi is because for the last several months, he's been trying to find your mother," Bum explains to Christopher. He hands something to Christopher that presumably explains why finding Pamela now was important.Next, he explains that JR was in Mexico on Bobby behalf, following a lead on Harris Ryland.John Ross is ready to go after Ryland, but Bum tells him it really was a mugger. He hands him a case with a handgun in it. There's a note from JR, urging him to watch out for Cliff Barnes now that he's gone. "You must crush him, before he can win.... Use what I've given you to take from them what they want to take from us. When you've done that, Bobby will know what to do," it reads.(Bobby does not look like he knows what to do.) Bum hands a letter to Bobby. Bobby reads it wordlessly then summons Bum out of the room. "This is between my brother and me, for now," he says to the boys. Bobby tells Bum to pay off whoever he needs to sell the mugger story. "When the time comes we'll take care of this ourselves, as a family," he says. Bobby goes to JR's bourbon and has a glass. Then another. "I knew you'd have at least one more left up your sleeve, JR. It is a good one. I love you brother," Bobby says, mixing his bourbon with tears.
9Ewings Unite!
18 Mar 2013
Description ▼Open with Bobby, John Ross and Christopher talking about J.R.'s package to get back at Cliff. Bobby wonders if Pamela is a silent partner in Barnes Global. Emma and John Ross are still sleeping together, it seems. At the will reading we learn Sue Ellen gets half of his oil rights, with John Ross receiving the other half. A letter from Miss Ellie is read which gives half the Southfork title to John Ross. Cliff and Harris talk about their common enemy. Cliff tells Harris if he uses his influence and muscle to help him take down the Ewings he'll give him enough money to buy his family's company out from under his mother. Alison Jones tells Christopher there is a new player for the DCT contract and it's Barnes Global. The Barnes offer has undercut his price. She gives him one week to prepare his rig for a showing. Christopher tells Bobby about the conversation with Alison. Bobby brings John Ross into the office and he tells the cousins it's time to turn on the Southfork oil. He says the only hope they have of surviving the onslaught from Barnes is sticking together. They need to "take the gloves off" with respect to Alison. John Ross has an idea. Vickers tells Harris he's found a Russian to handle the rig job. Harris also wants him to keep an eye on Emma. Drew asks Bobby to sell him his father's land so he can fulfill his dream of a Ramos fleet. Bobby isn't sure until Elana steps in and says she'll take responsibility for what happens. John Ross and Christopher give Pamela a hard time about her father making a move on the DCT contract. She swears she had nothing to do with any deal Barnes Global might have made but they aren't buying it. John Ross pays Alison a visit. He tells her Texas is an oil state and says if she steers the deal towards the oil side of his company he'll help her political career. They flirt overtly throughout the conversation. Judith promises Harris that he will eventually apologize to her for being so nasty. He isn't convinced. Gary shows up at Sue Ellen's office to talk about her drinking. She doesn't think there is a problem. She says she no longer needs him to turn the oil back on and brushes him off. After he leaves she calls Valene and tells her to come to Dallas and get Gary. She then closes the blinds and pours herself a drink. John Ross and Alison have slept together. They kiss on a hotel patio and we see somebody taking their picture through a telescopic lens. The photographer is Bum, who calls Christopher and tells him "John Ross wanted me to tell you: 'Welcome to the dark side.'" Pamela tells John Ross she had nothing to do with her father's bid. He believes her and says Alison's been dealt with. He invites Pamela to stop by the rig so they can talk. Emma stops by Drew's place looking for a date. She wants them to take a ride on his bike. They pass Vickers, who starts to follow. Vickers follows. Gary isn't happy when Valene shows up. Emma and Drew have a sandwich and talk about each other's past while Vickers watches from afar. Vickers reports back to Harris about the date. Harris is furious and tells him he wants Drew "fully compromised." When Vickers confirmed that Drew worked on munitions in the military he tells him to pull the Russian off the job. An angry Valene drops by Sue Ellen's office, upset she called her to Dallas to embarrass her. She vows not to leave town until she's shown Gary what a "manipulative monster" she is. Vickers tells Drew he needs him to do one last job. He wants him to use his military training and put a remote explosive on Christopher's rig. Vickers promises nobody will get hurt. Rollins says no, at which point Vickers threatens the life of his sister Elena. Christopher drops by Alison's office and shows her the pictures with John Ross. He tells her to kill the Barnes offer. Drew seems tormented by his predicament, but he ultimately ends up making the explosive. Christopher tells Pamela about what he and John Ross did to Alison. She can't believe he's now stooping to blackmail. He says he won't apologize for winning. Under the cover of darkness Drew plants the explosive. Gary tells Sue Ellen her stunt with Valene isn't going to work. He wants to help her. She says she needs to help herself. Judith tells Harris she's leaving for London. She's decided the moment she gets off the plane she's going to freeze his bank accounts and remove him from his position at the company. He grabs her and she ends up falling down the stairs. Christopher gives the tour of his rig. Pamela is there. Vickers calls Barnes, telling him that his daughter is on the rig. Barnes wonders if they can wait until she leaves but Vickers thinks the whole group will leave together. Barnes, who wants witnesses, tells him to go ahead. Alison tells Christopher that if the numbers in his plan are accurate he's going to get the deal. The device explodes and Vickers drives away.
10Guilt & Innocence
25 Mar 2013
Description ▼In the aftermath of the explosion on the rig. Everyone gets up OK, except Pamela, who ends up under a pile of beams. Christopher and John Ross uncover her, but she's badly hurt. At the hospital, the doctor says only that they're doing everything they can. No one was killed, and all the injuries except Pamela's are minor. Bobby frantically searches for Ann, having been separated from her before the explosion. He finally finds her in a treatment room, she's fine with just a concussion. She begs Bobby to forgive her for not telling him about Emma, thinking about what it would have been like if something had happened to one of them while he was still angry with her. They kiss and make up. Harris Ryland intercepts Emma and Drew as they arrive. He tells her about her grandmother's "fall" and tells his daughter he's trying to give her space. Drew lurks guiltily in the corner as his mom worries over Elena. He drives off angrily and confronts Roy, who tells him the explosion was supposed to go off tonight and it going off early must have been Drew's fault. Roy lays it on thick, telling Drew to get out of town to hide from his mistake. At the hospital, Christopher is allowed to visit Pamela. The doctor explains she has an abdominal aorta that could burst and a placental abruption. The doctor recommends terminating the pregnancies to make the aortic surgery possible, but Pamela is against it, even though she could die. The doctor looks to Christopher, as her husband, to make a final decision if there's an emergency. The doctors consult and plan to bring in the best neonatologist in the state, thinking there might be a way to save Pamela and the babies. Christopher blames himself for them getting hurt because he rushed to do the presentation. Bobby and Elena assure him it wasn't his fault and investigators are looking into it. Judith wakes up with Harris at her bedside. He apologizes for everything he said, and for bringing Emma to Dallas in the first place. He says he fell for Ann because he was weak, like his father. Judith tells Harris if he can fix things between her and Emma, he'll be forgiven. Emma slinks up to John Ross in the hallway and offers him pills. Harris interrupts, asking Emma to go see Judith. John Ross is allowed in to see Pamela. She asks him if he thinks the accident was karma. "Darling, if there were karma, I'd have been run over, shot, struck by lightning years ago," he says with an air of JR. Pamela's mom Afton Cooper arrives, John Ross called her. She says Pamela shouldn't have tried to build a relationship with her father. In the waiting area, Sue Ellen is annoyed that Afton is there, but mostly because she had an affair with JR years ago. A man with the Texas Environmental Safety and Hazards Administration arrives to talk to Christopher. He says the initial investigation shows the methane was ignited in the flowpipe because it was over-pressurized -- as Christopher had feared. Bobby shuts the interview down. John Ross turns on Christopher and blames him. Later, Sue Ellen tells John Ross that Bobby is right, they have to stick together. John Ross starts to say that JR predicted something, but stops. Sue Ellen tells him Ken Richards is an old friend and one of the chairs of TESHA, she plans to call him. Emma visits her grandmother, who tells her she only said bad things about Ann because she was afraid of Harris. Emma isn't buying it. Judith tells Emma if she takes her back to England she'll give her the company. Harris comes in and Judith gets frantic, pleading with Emma to "rescue" her from Harris. Emma is unmoved, even when Harris essentially pins his mother to her bed to "calm" her until a nurse can knock her out with drugs. "She's out to get you," Emma tells her dad with an air of concern. Harris gets a call from Cliff. He apologizes that Pamela got caught in the explosion, but Cliff apparently isn't worried. Sue Ellen gets a rum and coke at a bar, waiting for Ken. When he arrives, she pretends to just be drinking cola. She says she was hoping for a reason to call him, aside from TESHA. At the hospital, Afton warns Christopher to stay away from Pamela. Suddenly, Pamela's vital signs crash. The doctor says they have to do the surgery. She asks again to terminate the pregnancy, but Christopher honors Pamela's wishes and refuses, even though it puts her life in jeopardy. John Ross warns Christopher that if Pamela dies, it'll be his fault. Emma slinks up to John Ross again, inviting him for coffee. But he doesn't want to leave Pamela's side. Emma tells Elena that any woman would be lucky to be with Drew. The doctor comes out with news: they all made it. Later at night, Emma drops by Elena's and sees Drew packing. He says he has to go to Midland for a few days to pick up equipment. She asks why he's packing everything. He tells her she deserves someone better than him. She reminds him what he said about having to kick life's butt before it kicks yours. She kisses him. At the hospital, after Afton visits with Pamela, Christopher drops in. Pamela asks if the explosion was his fault and he doesn't deny it. Drew wakes up in bed with Emma and sees his half-packed bags. Drew goes to see Roy and tells him he's not leaving town. He threatens to expose Roy if he turns him in. Emma goes to visit her grandmother, but finds she's gone. Harris says she's "healing some place where she can't hurt herself." He thanks Emma for defending him from her grandmother. "I think we're both finally safe from her now," he says. Judith wakes up in the back of an ambulance being driven somewhere. Bobby gets a report on an investigation into Pamela's whereabouts. She was last recorded in Abu Dhabi in 1989 with a man who was believed to be her husband. "I thought you were done with her, Bobby," Ann says."So did I, Annie, so did I," he says. Ken visits Sue Ellen at Ewing Energies. He tells her there is evidence of sabotage on the rig. At the hospital, John Ross is sure Cliff Barnes is behind it, trying to devalue the company. They hear a code blue and rush to Pamela's room. The heart rate on both babies is dropping. John Ross and Christopher watch as they plummet and flat line as Pamela writhes in pain.

Description ▼After losing their babies, Christopher disassembles and boxes up everything in his nursery, Pamela does the same in hers.Christopher accidentally breaks one of the cribs then thrashes it as he cries.Pamela ends up taking things out of their boxes and setting the nursery up completely. Three Weeks LaterJohn Ross moves back into Southfork now that he owns half of it. He talks to Pamela on the phone, she is clearly not doing well but says she is. Bobby tries to make peace with John Ross, welcoming him to Southfork. Later, Bobby updates Christopher and John Ross -- the State Department still hasn't found Christopher's mother. They're meeting with TESHA today about the rig explosion. The boys are sure Cliff was behind it. "My children were murdered and I need to know why," Christopher yells. Sue Ellen, Christopher, John Ross and Bobby go to the TESHA meeting. Sue Ellen's old friend Ken Richards isn't there, instead a guy name Scott Taylor, from the Board of Directors of Environmental Safety and Hazards, is there. Taylor says the cause of the explosion was technical, the sensor wasn't working. TESHA is finding Ewing Energies liable and issuing a $1 million fine. The Ewings protest and ask about the evidence of two explosions that Richards told them about, but Taylor isn't listening. The Ewings head back to the office and Bobby forms plans for an appeal. Sue Ellen thinks someone silenced Ken Richards and she plans to talk to him. Christopher wants to ask Pamela to look into her dad's schedule, but John Ross points out how hard it would be to accuse her father to her face. John Ross suggests Christopher needs to take some time to grieve. John Ross goes to Pamela's apartment and finds booze and pills everywhere and Pamela sitting on the porch with no jacket on. She sent her mother home last week.John Ross says he's not going anywhere until he knows she's OK."You're going to be here a long time," she says. Christopher waits in a bar to talk to intercept Ken Richards. He says he spoke too soon about there being two explosions. Christopher starts yelling in the bar, demanding to know who silenced him. Christopher grabs Ken Richards and threatens him and ends up in a fight with a bouncer.Elena comes to smooth things over and Christopher ends up turning on her, saying she got what she wanted because she never wanted the babies in the first place. Harris Ryland intercepts his daughter out on a ride, with dirt on Drew. He reads her his record of car theft and fights. Emma already knows about all of it. Harris orders her to stop seeing Drew. Emma celebrates the victory of making her father mad. Emma finds Drew in the oil field at a memorial for his dad. He remembers coming to America with his family when he was eight and trying to save his father after he collapsed in the oil field one day.She kisses him and Roy spies on them from a distance. He calls Harris to report then says "yes, sir, it'll go down tonight." Christopher calls John Ross, asking only: "Did you get the Cliff info?"John Ross prepares to leave but then tells Pamela there's something she needs to know about what really caused the explosion on the rig. Later that night, Drew looks guiltily at the newspaper coverage of the explosion and is late for his date with Emma. He's texting her he's on his way as he walks to his truck when two men knock him out and stuff him in a trunk. He doesn't get a chance to send his text, so instead Emma receives one that says "Can't make it. Got a better offer." Harris and Roy tell Drew he won't be making his date. Sue Ellen gets a cocktail as she waits for Ken Richards. When he arrives, she threatens him, warning that nothing can stop the Ewings when they unite. On her way out, Sue Ellen sees Emma flirting shameless with an older man at the bar. She keeps walking. Later, Emma leaves the bar with the man but Harris stops her outside. "You wouldn't listen to reason so I had to take other actions," he says about Drew. He takes her to a parking garage and reminds her about a horse she liked as a child that bucked her, even after he warned her it was dangerous. He flips on his headlights to show Drew lying on the ground, beaten to a pulp. Harris warns her not to defy him again."Yes, Daddy," she says. Sue Ellen talks to Ann at Southfork, telling her about seeing Emma flirting with the older man at the bar. Sue Ellen also thinks she was high. Ken Richards meets with Governor Sam McConaughey(Steven Weber), who reminds him he's the one who told the Ewings about the sabotage in the first place, so he gets to cover it up. The governor threatens to expose him for a past chemical spill, then accepts the resignation that Richards didn't offer yet. Carlos calls Bobby with info about JR's death -- he found the woman that JR was with the night he was killed. He's also looking into Harris Ryland's trucking business, which has legitimate business in Nuevo Laredo, where JR was shot. But Carlos isn't sure what JR had on them. At Southfork, Christopher apologizes to Elena, who assures him that no one blames him for the explosion. She encourages him to tell Pamela he's not responsible. Carlos brings Ronda, the American hostess from Mexico that JR met with, to Bobby's office. She explains that JR wanted to know about the Mendez-Ochoa cartel, narco-traffickers that owned the club where she worked. He wanted to know about an American who came into the club a lot to meet with him -- Harris Ryland. JR wanted to know what business Harris had with the cartel, but she said she didn't know. Carlos agrees to talk to the federales about any connection between Ryland and drug traffickers. Ronda tells Bobby that JR was a real gentleman, who only wanted to talk and share a drink. Christopher drops in on Pamela, who already knows the rig was sabotaged, because John Ross told her. She asks him to promise that when he finds out who's behind it, he'll make them pay. Sue Ellen gets a delivery from Ken Richards -- a list of the governor's campaign contributors. Harris Ryland was his biggest contributor, giving $300,000. Sue Ellen lays it out for Bobby, but also asks him what else is going on. Bobby shows her the pieces of JR's master plan, including Christopher's mother's whereabouts, Ryland Trucking in Mexico and Barnes Global's financial history. Elsewhere, John Ross prints out Rebecca Wentworth's (Cliff's mother) will from Pamela's computer.Christopher, Sue Ellen, John Ross and Bobby review it. She left her estate to her children: Katherine, Cliff and Pam, including her shares of Barnes Global. It's a living trust, meaning if they can't find Pamela, or she's dead, the shares go to Christopher. They think Harris and Cliff are joining forces against them, just like JR predicted. They need to find Pamela. Elena comes home to see her bloodied brother drinking heavily. He tells her Harris had him beat up. Gov. McConaughey meets with Harris, telling him that everything's in place and the Ewings should be served any minute now. Bobby gets a delivery at the office.Ewing Energies has been seized. The Ewings arrive at the Henderson ranch to find the governor's office has seized it.
12A Call to Arms
08 Apr 2013
Description ▼The governor (Steven Weber) holds a press conference after taking the Ewing's Henderson land through eminent domain for a pipeline to be built by Barnes Global. Bobby and Sue Ellen watch angrily. After the conference, he talks to the Ewings. Sue Ellen accuses him of colluding with Cliff Barnes and Harris Ryland to destroy the Ewings because Ryland bought him the election. He tells them about Ken Richards "resigning" from TESHA. "My father took down three senators, two governors and a vice president -- and he taught me everything he knows. Your head's going to look real nice above my fire place, governor," John Ross says." At Southfork, Bobby talks to Alan at the bank for more time on the loan. Carlos Del Sol reports that Ryland's trucks are regularly coming across the border, but inspections are coming up clean. Bobby tells the family they'll stick with the plan- take down Cliff by taking down his company. He urges Christopher to step up efforts to find his mom. Christopher thinks they also need Pamela as an ally and he wants John Ross to tell her the truth about her dad and the explosion. John Ross worries how she'll take it, but goes to see her. He tells her everything. She accuses him of trying to manipulate her and throws her out. Drew visits Elena, who lies to Christopher about how Drew got his injuries. He won't tell her why Harris had him beat up. Drew goes inside and sees Emma, who's been avoiding him. She says she can't see him again. He suggests they run away together, but she thinks there's nowhere they can go where her father won't find them. The governor meets with Harris and Cliff. He's annoyed at having to deal with the Ewings. Christopher visits Ellis, the assistant US attorney, to find out about the investigation to find his mom. The dividends she's gotten from Barnes Global are sitting in a trust account, untouched. Christopher asks for a death certificate if she can't be found. Ann sets up flowers in Emma's room and tidies her clothes. She finds Emma's anti-anxiety meds and mentions what Sue Ellen told her.Emma says she wasn't high that night, but Sue Ellen was drunk. She gives Ann her pills. After Ann leaves, she nervously checks her stash and finds she's out. Elena drops by Ewing Energies. Christopher doesn't tell her why he was meeting with Ellis. Bobby meets with Sheriff Derrick, asking him to check out Ryland's shipment coming in tonight. Sue Ellen drops by Southfork, with no news about Ken Richards. Bobby decides to put Bum on it. Ann asks her pointedly how she's doing and mentions what Emma said. Sue Ellen says she had one drink, but hasn't had one since. Sue Ellen urges Ann not to believe Emma's lies. Emma drops by the stables and asks a hot stable hand named McCabe to buy pain meds. She more or less offers to sleep with him in exchange for the pills. At home, Pamela reads the TESHA report. Cliff comes by and apologizes for not coming by the hospital. He gives her her annulment paperwork. She tells them what the Ewings said about it being sabotage. Cliff denies it, but says she'll have her revenge soon. Sue Ellen visits Bum, asking him to find Ken Richards. Bobby finds John Ross drinking in his dad's room. He tells Bobby that Pamela didn't believe the truth about the sabotage. Derrick calls Bobby. He's watching the Ryland trucks and one diverts from the warehouse. Emma anxiously waits for her pill hook-up. Drew drives up as she's kissing the stable hand. He tries to interrupt, but Emma walks off with McCabe. At Southfork, Christopher tells his family about trying to have his mom declared legally dead. Sheriff Derrick watches Roy and armed guards supervise the delivery of a load off Ryland's trucks to a separate storage facility. But when they check it out later, all they find are shoes. John Ross and Christopher go talk to the owner, Roy. He says he's never seen Ryland before. Bobby pays him off to call them the next time a Ryland truck comes in. When they leave, Roy calls Ryland. "You were right, they were here. Cops, too," Roy says."You swap out that cargo like we discussed?""Yep, all they found was shoes," Roy says. Drew visits Emma at Southfork. He offers to help her, but when she throws it back in his face he tells her if he sees her near McCabe again or high again, he'll go to the feds with what he knows about her father. He doesn't care if he goes down, too. Alone in her room, Emma snorts her pills. At Ewing Energies, meeting with the banker, they learn that the bank has sold their loan: to Cliff Barnes. He strides in, announcing he's calling in the loan. "Unless you can get your hands on $200 million in the next 24 hours, I will own you," he says. John Ross calls Pamela to update her. He tells her to ask why he'd want bad technology. He's sure Barnes has a plan to do away with the fine."He knows Christopher's technology wasn't to blame for the explosion and there's only one way that he could know that -- because he was behind it," John Ross says. She hangs up on him. Pamela comes home. Her father is waiting with flowers and news about taking over Ewing Energies. He tells her a few campaign donations will take care of the fine and then they'll make billions on Christopher's technology. She realizes John Ross was telling the truth. "I know this may be hard for you to hear, but the babies would have tied you to the Ewings forever. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise," he says. Pamela goes to the bathroom to freak out. Then she goes to see John Ross. Crying outside in the rain, she tells him she spent her whole life trying to get her father to love her, but now she realizes he's never going to love her more than he hates the Ewings. John Ross scoops her into his arms. Christopher's phone goes off while he's in the shower and Elena sees messages from Ellis about his mother. He tells her what Cliff is up to. She thinks he's being too cavalier about the idea his mom might be dead. "She was dead to me years ago, maybe now something good can finally come of it," he says. Later in bed, Pamela tells John Ross she wants to hurt her father as much as he's hurt her. Christopher and Elena meet with Ellis. He found payments made to a Swiss bank account from Barnes Global dating back to 1988. The money is being withdrawn under the name Patricia Barrett. Christopher's mother is alive.
13Love & Family
08 Apr 2013
Description ▼Love and family Pamela accesses her father's files, including financial statements. She's trying to find something from before the explosion, but hasn't found anything yet. John Ross is sure she will. Cliff Barnes meets with Harris Ryland and hands him a fat check to buy out his mother. Cliff appreciates everything the governor did for them and asks Harris to pass the sentiment on. The $200 million bank loan for the Ewings come due in 24 hours, but Cliff is already celebrating. At Ewing Energies, Sue Ellen reports that Bum still hasn't be able to find Ken Richards. Christopher and Bobby haven't found anything on the trucks from Nuevo Laredo either. Pamela comes in with John Ross and says she's found nothing in her dad's files. Christopher tells her that his mother has been cashing Barnes Global dividend checks in Zurich and investigators are looking for her. Pamela didn't know his mother owned a third of Barnes Global. At Southfork, Emma tries to calm her horse, who is freaking out. Ann rushes over and helps. She's worried about Emma and thinks she's falling down a "long dark hole." Inside, Christopher tells Elena about John Ross bringing Pamela into things. He's going through a file on Ryland, but not finding anything. Elena looks at it and recognizes the knock off designer shoes Drew was driving. She takes the file to Drew and demands answers. Drew tells her about Roy, his handler. She tells him about the suspected drug drop Roy runs and that Ryland might be involved with the cartel. She berates him until he tells her about blowing the Ewing rig, but that no one was supposed to be on it. He tells her they threatened to kill her if he didn't and that Ryland made Emma watch while he was beaten. She tells him he has to turn himself in. When she leaves, he takes out a pair of the knock off shoes and a case full of handguns. In the house, Bobby sees how Emma is acting and Ann tells him about Emma being addicted to tranquilizers. Elena comes in to talk to Bobby. Minutes later, Bobby, Christopher and Elena go looking for Drew. He and his gun are gone and left a signed confession and deed to his father's land. Cliff drops in on Pamela unannounced and John Ross hides. At lunch with her dad, Pamela tries to act excited about his takeover of Ewing Energies. He gives her giant emerald earrings from her aunt Katherine's Wentworth Estate. A few tables over, Bum listens to from a nearby table. Pamela tells him she wants to be a partner in Barnes Global. Cliff agrees. Cliff is summoned to join the governor and Harris as they watch news reports about the rig explosion being sabotage. Roy has been arrested and Drew is being sought.Cliff says they can claim Drew acted alone. They have footage of him getting the bomb components. Cliff needed to prove Christopher's methane technology wasn't to blame anyway to boost Ewing Energies once he took it over. Back at Southfork, Emma sees the footage of Drew getting the bomb parts on the news and recognizes something.Bobby wants to get the sheriff to look into the counterfeit shoes to make sure drugs weren't also involved. They're hoping TESHA will hold off on their fine now that Drew has confessed. Emma barges in on her father, and asks point blank if he made Drew blow up the rig. She knows Roy works for Harris. She demands to know where her grandmother is and Harris says she's getting top care.Harris spins everything for her, saying it's all her fault things went wrong and he can't protect her if she's not with him. He tells her to get back on her meds then move back in. She agrees. Roy is brought to court on capital murder and transporting counterfeit goods charges. The judge immediately dismisses the charges when he hears the only evidence against him is Drew and he's nowhere to be found. Back at Southfork, Bobby has heard Roy has disappeared. He tells John Ross about Bum following Pamela and that she persuaded Cliff to give her a third of Barnes Global. The sheriff comes to get Bobby and Ann. He takes them to a car accident. Emma is being arrested for DUI for pills. Emma is fine, but angry. Ann tries to tell her she needs help, but Emma calls her a hypocrite and blames her for leaving her with her father and grandmother for 20 years.Ann tells Emma she won't bail her out or let her back to Southfork until she agrees to rehab. They make sure the sheriff won't let her call Harris. At Elena's place, she gets a call from Drew. He's camped out in the woods. He plans to find Roy, but he wants money. Carmen pleads with Elena to help him. She agrees. She tells Christopher she hasn't heard from Drew. At Pamela's place, she immediately tells him she got her aunt Katherine's shares. He questions her motives."My father killed my babies, how could you possibly think I'd ever side with him again?" she says. He notices she's wearing the emerald earrings from her dad. She promises him she's on his side, but he wants proof. Elena and Carmen go to meet Drew in the woods. Elena gives him $5,000 cash and an untraceable phone. At Southfork, Christopher gets a call that his mother has been spotted. He and Bobby and Ann look at surveillance footage, but can't tell if it's her. Christopher plans to fly to Zurich. Elena comes home and says she wants to go with him. Sue Ellen comes by, still not able to find Ken Richards. And she can't get anyone to cover their bank loan. Bobby mentions how hard it is for him to play JR's role, "guess that's why he thought he had to spell things out for me." He gets a text from John Ross that Pamela's shares will be his by morning. Bobby explains that JR knew hubris was Cliff's Achilles heel. Bobby toasts a photo of JR, saying he's getting his wish. To cut to Pamela and John Ross at the altar. "Are you doing this because you love me or because you hate your father?" he asks."I do," she says. In the morning, Cliff comes until Ewing Energies to collect. Bobby hands him the keys and walks out."I can only imagine the look on JR's face right now," Cliff gloats."Me too," Bobby says, enjoying what's about to come.

Description ▼John Ross and Pamela fly away after their rush to the altar in Vegas. Her wedding ring came from a gumball machine.Cliff calls his daughter from Ewing Energies, as the contents are being boxed up.John Ross assures her they'll take down her father, together. They check out Cliff's flight records (obvious Windows 8 product placement!) and notice a flight to Nuevo Laredo the night JR was killed. John Ross calls Bobby with the news, thinking Cliff was being the murder. Bobby calls Bum. "Time to put the plan in motion," he says. Back at Southfork, John Ross shows the flight manifest and wants to call the police. "My father is many things, but he is not a cold blooded killer," Pamela says. Bobby agrees. Carmen calls Elena in Zurich, worried sick about Drew. Elena hangs up and takes out her burn phone to call Drew. Meanwhile, Drew sprays something on the shoes he was arrested for trafficking. He assures Elena he knows what he's doing as the finish on the shoes bubbles.Elena lies and tells Christopher she was talking to her mom. Christopher found out his mother's bank account was registered to a home address owned by David Gordon, an American who used to be a plastic surgeon. Christopher is heading there now to check it out. Meanwhile, Sue Ellen tracks down Ken Richards at a resort in the Cayman Islands, wanting evidence of the governor's involvement in the TESHA cover-up. He tells her about his son's tech company dumping toxic chemicals and how he covered it up. Sue Ellen thinks she can protect him, and threatens to expose him if he doesn't go along."Just a little something I learned from JR: If you can't count on someone to do the right thing, don't give them the choice," she says. Christopher rings the doorbell of a giant house, David Gordon answers the door and immediately recognizes Christopher's name. David says his mother's not there, but Christopher barges in when he hears a noise. He sees a woman doing dishes -- but she's not his mother. David explains that he's married to Christopher's mother, and was her surgeon, but she doesn't want to see him. "I was there the night your uncle Cliff found your mother in Houston, after she disappeared he asked her to come back to Dallas to be with him and Bobby and you. She said no, she said that that part of her life had ended," David explains. "Your mother never wants to see you again."Christopher leaves in tears. At Southfork, Ann gets a call that Emma has agreed to go to rehab. Christopher returns to his hotel room and Elena assures him they won't leave Zurich until they find her. At Southfork, Bobby introduces Ronda the hostess from Mexico to John Ross and Pamela. They moved her up to Dallas after she connected Ryland to the cartel. They show her a picture of Cliff and she says he was in the club that night. Bobby believes Cliff was behind JR's murder, but tells John Ross it's not time to go after Cliff. He reminds him JR's note says "Bobby will know what to do," and says they have to wait for Christopher to get his mother's shares. He needs a day to get things in place. In the hotel room in Zurich, Christopher's cell phone dies so he looks for Elena's. He finds the burn phone and dials the last number. Drew answers. Christopher confronts Elena and realizes she knew where Drew was and lied to him. He kicks her out. At Southfork, Ann gives Emma half a pill to wean her. She starts rehab Monday. Christopher waits outside his mother's house in Zurich, ignoring Elena's calls. Sue Ellen drops in on the governor with the initial investigation findings about the explosion from Ken, which includes proof there were two explosions. Drew visits a bar and asks the bartender Mickey if she's seen Roy. He gives her cash to call if she sees him and tells her where he's staying. She calls Roy the minute Drew leaves and tells him where to find Drew. Emma shows up on Harris' doorstep, apologizing for leaving. He welcomes her home and tells her he'll help her get back on her meds. At Southfork, John Ross assures Pamela that what her father did doesn't change the way he feels about her. He explains they want her to use a copy of JR's belt buckle to plant on Cliff -- to frame him for something he actually did. Roy arrives at Drew's hotel room. Moments behind, Drew gets a call and leaves his room. He breaks into Roy's truck, then rides off. Roy follows him. Cops pull up behind as they chase down the highway -- they pull Roy over, they got a call that an armed man was chasing a motorcycle. He explains he's following Drew, a wanted man, but when the rider takes off his helmet it's a dude from the bar. Then the cop sees a half dissolved shoe in white powder -- the one Drew was dissolving -- in Roy's backseat and Roy's under arrest. Sue Ellen comes to Southfork and tells Bobby she thinks the governor is under control. Bobby gets a call from Drew, letting him know about Roy's arrest, and that Ryland has been transporting high impact pressure molded cocaine.Bobby tells Drew he still needs to turn himself in, but Drew apologizes and hangs up. Christopher lies passed out drunk in his hotel room. Back at her place, Carmen tells her daughter they were wrong to keep things about Drew from Christopher, but that Christopher will forgive her eventually. John Ross and Pamela plant JR's replica belt buckle in Cliff's safety deposit box. She finds her Grandmother Wentworth's engagement ring from Digger in the box. Cliff told her when she brought home a man he approved of she could have it. John Ross promises to buy her one. At her dad's house, Emma rifles through his drawers and finds a key. She tries it in his safe, but it doesn't work. Harris catches her. Christopher gets a call that his mother is clearing out her account. He races to the bank and sees Brian with the same woman who was in his kitchen. Meanwhile, Pamela finds something in the safety deposit box: Christopher's mother's death certificate from 1989.

Description ▼Busted by her father in his study, Emma tells him she's looking for pills. He opens his safe, which also contains a ledger and gun. He gives her a pill and she pops it. ZurichBack at David's house, he tells Christopher he met her after the auto accident that burned over 60 percent of her body. She left Dallas because she didn't want to scare Christopher. After her last plastic surgery she found out she had pancreatic cancer and David took her to Abu Dhabi for an experiment treatment. But it didn't work, and she died. Cliff found out about Pamela's shares going to Christopher and paid David and his wife, Pamela's nurse, to keep quiet about her death. Corina gives Christopher Pamela's will, passing her shares of Barnes Global to him. Corina gives him a note Pamela wrote a few days before she died, saying she always wanted to get home to him. Pamela, John Ross and Bobby go to the jail to follow up on Roy, who isn't talking. Harris Ryland meets with Cliff, assuring him Roy won't talk. When Harris leaves, Cliff calls someone with a job for them to do. Pamela visits Roy in jail to try to get him to talk. She asks if her father knew she was on the rig. "Have other children, forget your father. There was nothing unintentional about it," Roy says. Later, Roy talks to his family on the phone. The guards walk away and two inmates walk up and shiv Roy in the neck. Emma sees the news that Roy has been killed. Harris assures her he had nothing to do with it. She tells him she's glad he's dead, so Roy can't hurt him. At Southfork, the Ewings watch the news. Ann worries about Emma at Harris'. Christopher comes home and learns about Pamela and John Ross getting married. He offers congratulations.Bum joins them. Now that they can control Barnes Global, Bobby says it's time to reveal JR's plan. He shows them the gun JR left, which Pamela recognizes as belonging to her dad. It's the gun that killed JR. Bum explains: JR found out Cliff followed him to Nuevo Laredo and called Bum. By the time he got there, JR was dying. He told Bum that Cliff was using the cartel to cover his tracks and to call Carlos del Sol. Carlos bought the gun that Cliff used to kill JR from the cartel. They said it was a mugger because JR wanted to give the family time to get things together. Bobby knew he couldn't tell John Ross because he'd go after Cliff before things were in place. Pamela thinks she has a way to get her father to Mexico to face charges. Elena apologizes to Christopher, but he doesn't think he can trust her anymore. The Ewings all pile into a limo. Pamela takes a ride with her father, saying she's working to complete Frank's casino deal in Nuevo Laredo. They get onto her father's private plane and she leaves the gun in his car. JR's body is exhumed and the bullet is removed.Police pull over Cliff's car and test the gun they find for fingerprints and ballistics. It's a match. Nuevo Laredo, MexicoPamela intercepts a call from Cliff's office warning him about the police. She opens the door for the Ewings. They lay out the facts for him, including that he's now a minority owner in his own company so they have control of Ewing Energies and Barnes Global."Oh Pamela, you have just made the most grievous error of your young life," Cliff says.He claims Roy is lying that he knew she was on the rig. Police arrive to arrest him. Cliff says the gun was stolen from his locker at the shooting range weeks before JR was killed.Cliff says he was in Cabo the night of the shooting, somebody moved his plane. Police lead him away as Cliff repeatedly insists he didn't kill JR. Bobby visits Cliff in Mexico lock-up to offer him a deal: if Cliff admits to blowing up the rig and having Roy killed and he'll get him moved to a US prison. Cliff turns him down."Who killed JR?" Cliff asks."You'll never know, Cliff," Bobby says. Bobby and Bum visit JR's grave (his tombstone reads "The only deal he ever lost").John Ross and Christopher show up, asking who really killed JR. Bobby reads the letter, in which JR says he has cancer and only has a few days to live. He urges Bobby to end the Barnes feud for good. He had Bum steal Cliff's gun and knew Cliff would be in Mexico for an annual fishing competition. He urges Bobby to plant what he needs to. Christopher finishes reading the letter, in which he apologizes to Bobby for everything he did to him. John Ross asks who killed his father.Bum did it, because JR asked him to. "Please believe that his last act was an act of love for his family, and for you," Bum says."The only person who could take down JR, was JR," John Ross says, shaking Bum's hand. Carmen tells Elena the news. Elena took another reading on her father's land and determined that it can't produce oil. She thinks Drew threw away his life for nothing. Elena signs for a delivery from Cliff Barnes' lawyer -- land records for Bobby's land and her father's land. Emma visits her father in prison, who rages against her and blames the Ewings for corrupting her. "This isn't the girl I raised," he says."It is, because I am exactly my father's daughter," she says.Harris sees Ann waiting and asks if she's enjoying this."Actually I'm not, Harris, because I'm not a sick, sadistic prick like you are," she says. Back at Southfork, Christopher reads the letter from his mother. Pamela walks by and suggests he try to forgive Elena. "Don't hold onto your anger the way my father held onto his," she says. Elena visits Cliff in prison to learn about her father's land. Cliff says JR paid someone in the records office to switch the deeds for his land and her father's. He wants her to be his proxy for Barnes Global and go against the Ewings. At Ewing Energies, they toast JR.John Ross takes a moment to enjoy that he owns half of Southfork. The governor reversed the eminent domain and oil is pumping again on the Henderson ranch.Sue Ellen urges him to be nice to Pamela."What do you take me for, mama, a scoundrel?" he says.Sue Ellen walks away with a bottle of bourbon. Elena drives crying. Christopher goes to her house but finds it empty. John Ross buys flowers. Elena drives to an estate in Mexico to see a man named Joaquin, who her she and her brother grew up with in Meixco. The many armed guards let her in. John Ross takes his flowers and champagne up to a hotel room -- where Emma is waiting for him with the suitcase she got from her father's safe for him. He climbs into bed with her.
1The Return
24 Feb 2014
Description ▼12 Hours Later Bobby talks to J.R.'s grave, enjoying the win over Cliff Barnes. He looks at the graves of all his family and prepares to become the caretaker of Southfork. At the Omni Hotel, John Ross wakes up in bed with Emma. They roll around in legal papers until they uncover Harris Ryland's power of attorney. With Emma as CEO, John Ross wants use of Ryland's ice breaking ships and transports for use by Ewing Energy. At work, Bum checks that John Ross can handle Emma. He assures Bum he won't jeopardize things with Pamela. Bum gives him one last thing from J.R. -- his belt buckle. At Southfork, John Ross has Pamela meet him under the stars at night. He tells her he had to go to Houston to get her the biggest diamond in Texas. He gives her a rock the size of an ice cube and gets down on one knee for a real proposal. The next morning, John Ross has plans to renovate Southfork according to J.R.'s old blue prints. Bobby doesn't think it's necessary, but since Miss Ellie gave John Ross half of Southfork there's nothing he can do to stop it. Out on the grounds, Christopher works out his anger at Elena by chopping wood. He calls her but misses her. Elena is down in Mexico after meeting with Cliff Barnes and learning that J.R. swindled her father out of his land. She goes to see Cliff again. She has confirmed what J.R. said. She agrees to be Cliff's proxy at Barnes Global. Cliff wants Elena to prove that the Ewings framed him for J.R.'s murder, including getting the waitress Ronda to lie and stealing his gun from the gun range. After the Ewings kicked her out of the company she helped start and stole her oil leases, Elena is ready to go after them. "I am not thinking of this as revenge, I am thinking of this as justice," she says. Christopher packs up his chopped wood and hears a female ranch hand chewing out another ranch hand giving her attitude. Christopher goes over and introduces himself and enjoys what he sees. Sue Ellen drops in on John Ross and tries to encourage him to use a soft touch with Bobby and not stir things up. Over iced tea, Pamela sits down with Sue Ellen and Ann to get started on wedding planning. Sue Ellen assures Pamela she won't be the first woman to have multiple weddings at Southfork. Emma joins them and tries to share her enthusiasm about the wedding, despite having just slept with the bride's husband. Elena arrives. She offers her profound apology for all the lies when she was trying to help her brother. Christopher asks to talk to her. She tells Christopher she needed to clear her head. He apologizes for not trying to hear her side and tells her he wants to make things work between them. She reminds him he threw her out of his hotel room. She tells him they're both broken and need time to mend on their own first. She's planning to leave Southfork, but he encourages her to stay. Carmen stops by her daughter's house. She tells him Cliff Barnes is just bitter and she wasted a trip down there. Her adopted brother Joaquin has taken Drew in and Drew sent a letter with Elena for their mother. Elena reminds Carmen that the Ewings are still after Drew. At the new Ewing Global, John Ross, Bobby, Sue Ellen, Christopher, and Pamela discuss their plans to bid for arctic gas and methane leases. With a deal for Ryland's ice breaking ships they're able to put in a real bid. They need to raise half a billion to get in the auction and plan to raise the money by selling Barnes Global's consumer division. Elena joins them. She asks for a job. Christopher welcomes her immediately. Left alone, Elena starts sifting through company files. She calls Cliff Barnes in prison to report her progress. Later in the day, Bobby reports that Con Agra is interested in their consumer division and is putting together a bid. They're interrupted by a young man who introduces himself as Nicolas Trevino, Cliff Barnes' proxy. Cliff still owns a third of Barnes Global. According to state law, they can't sell off any of the company without a super majority, which the Ewings don't have. After Trevino leaves, they scramble. Pamela confirms Cliff made Trevino his proxy and the super majority is a real thing. He's a "Mexican billionaire financier tycoon" who got rich young in part by selling generic drugs to Mexican pharmacies after making is first money at the track. Christopher tells Elena to talk to Ocean Energy Management and see if they'll push back the arctic drilling auction. In the room with just John Ross and Bobby, Christopher worries that Trevino and Barnes might be able to prove he was framed. Bobby assures them that he, Bum, and Carlos del Sol made sure there were no loose ends. Later at Southfork, Emma messages John Ross to drop by her room later. When Pamela comes home, Emma thanks her for being so nice, then she gets back to propositioning Pamela's husband online. The next day, Elena reports that the arctic auction can't be moved. John Ross has a suggestion: the shale under Southfork has risen to the top and will be easy to access, so Bobby can't object to drilling them.Elena says the arctic leases are the holy grail and she'll do anything to help get them. John Ross and Sue Ellen meet Bobby and Christopher out on Southfork, where John Ross explains that with the shale rise he can access it with his surface rights -- not the mineral rights that Bobby and Gary control. Bobby tells him point blank there will be no drilling on Southfork. Christopher points out they'd have to frack and it would shut down their cattle operation. He urges Bobby and John Ross not to turn against each other and says they'll come up with a way to work with Trevino. John Ross doesn't think they have the time if they want to be able to get the arctic rights. Bobby is angry and warns John Ross he'll stop him, just like he stopped J.R., "and you're not half the man he was." Later at night, John Ross pays a visit to Emma, telling her he needs her ice breaking ships and tankers for the arctic deal. She wants him in return and he's only too happy to pay. Later, as he's leaving her bedroom, Sue Ellen sees her son kissing Emma good night. She warns John Ross to be reasonable with Bobby. John Ross explains Emma is the one he made the tanker deal with and she has more power than she realizes with Ryland Transport with her dad in jail. Meanwhile, in jail, Harris Ryland goes a little stir crazy. Then he's released in the middle of the night, to his Mexican drug dealer connections, who paid for his freedom. They caution him to get his trucks running again quickly or they'll go after Emma. MexicoElena goes to visit Joaquin at his palatial estate -- it's Nicolas Trevino. He greets his sister and reminds her his name has been Nicolas for decades now. Her father was the only one he ever knew, and he reminds her of how J.R. swindled him and robbed him of his will to live. Barnes gave Nicolas use of one of his penthouses so he'll be moving to Dallas for as long as Elena needs him. He's still wearing the necklace she gave him as a boy. He promises her they'll get justice for their family.

03 Mar 2014
Description ▼Sue Ellen meets secretly with Bum, the PI. She asks him to follow John Ross because of her suspiciouns about him with Emma Ryland. Bum cautions that John Ross finding out his mom is having him followed could damage their relationship. But after spending 40 years being cheated on, Sue Ellen doesn't want John Ross ot make the same mistakes as his father.Bum agrees to look into it. When he leaves, Sue Ellen takes out her trusty flask and takes a long pull. Harris Ryland comes home and looks through files -- the ones he knows Emma went through to get him sent to jail. Emma is surprised to find him out of jail, but doesn't spend much time trying to hide what she is up to with the Ewings and the Ryland transport ships for the arctic drilling. Harris asks if she's back on drugs, then goes a step further, suggesting he could put her in a "secure therapeutic setting" so she doesn't hurt herself -- even though she said nothing of the kind. It's the same move he pulled with his mother. Emma goes to John Ross, who assures her he'll get Harris back in jail. She pulls him into bed as he calls Bum for help. Taking pictures of them in bed with his telephoto lens, Bum tells John Ross he'll be right there. Later, John Ross tells Bum he wants to get Harris back in jail. Bum notes that John Ross seems out of breath. He claims he had to take the stairs. Back at Southfork, Bobby goes over the seismic maps that show the shale top. He's puzzled that it's closer to the surface that his last mapping in 1980 and decides to have another map done.Ann ask him to come to bed. "When I watch 'Duck Dynasty' without you, I get all the beards confused," she says. There's a knock at the door. It's the sheriff, Derrick, letting them know Harris Ryland was released from jail. Even though Derrick thought it was open and shut, the judge tossed the case for insufficient evidence. The next day, Bobby and Ann go to their friend Ellis, the US Attorney. Bobby is sure the judge was bought off, but Ellis doesn't want to touch it. Bobby decides to go to his US Senator friend Joe McAlister. At Ewing Global, Pamela watches as her husband flirts with Candace, his secretary, to find out what Howard, the seismic guy, is doing in with Christopher.Nicolas Trevino comes in and Christopher invites him to a barbecue at the house on Saturday. Later, Nicolas (who is really Joaquin, Elena's adoptive brother) meets with her looking for evidence the Ewings framed Cliff Barnes for J.R.'s murder. But there's nothing on the Ewing servers. Elena wants to go through Bobby's personal computer, and Nicolas suggests she do it at the barbecue on Saturday. She's worried about him going to Southfork and running into her mother. But he points out Carmen is working as a "servant" for the people who caused Elena's father's death and she deserves better. John Ross drops by nervous Howard the seismic guy's office. Howard twitches and tries to not feel awkward as John Ross schmoozes him, telling him he's a "seismic superstar" and he values his loyalty. He tells Howard he's sure he'll find the shale is within his surface rights, because it's "the right thing to do." He tosses a stack of $100s on Howard's desk. John Ross comes home to find Pamela annoyed that he's late, they were supposed to pick centerpieces for the reception. She asks him about his secretary and he assures her that flirting isn't cheating and, hand to god, nothing is going on with her."If I ever find out you've been stepping out on me, God's wrath will be the least of your worries," Pamela tells him. "You are so sexy when you're scary," he says. In the stables, Heather the hot ranch hand gives Christopher an earful about fracking Southfork. He assures her he's trying to stop it, then invites her to the barbecue. In the house, Elena is upset to see her mom slaving in the kitchen for the barbecue. Elena warns her Joaquin is coming and asks her to pretend not to know him. She assures her mother everything she's doing is justified, but Carmen knows that if Cliff Barnes is involved it's about destroying the Ewings and she wants no part of it. In his study, Harris hears an ominous thumping in his hallway. He draws his gun, then sees his mother Judith come in, with a cane. Emma got her out. Judith offers to forget about him throwing her down the stairs, but warns him she's in charge of Ryland Transport now. She wants to meet his drug smuggling partners, saying it's time to renegotiate. At the barbecue at Southfork, Sue Ellen watches her son flirting with a blonde. Emma and Pamela also take note. Sue Ellen commends Ann on the party. "In the old days, these things would end up in a fist fight in the pool," she says. Sue Ellen meets with Bum who tells her John Ross never went near Emma. She admits it's possible she's projecting J.R.'s wrongs onto her son. Heather arrives at the barbecue and drags Christopher out on the dance floor to two-step. Pamela sizes up her husband flirting and invites Nicolas Trevino to dance. Bobby checks in on Howard on the back 40. Howard turns over John Ross's bribe and tells him what John Ross tried. Bobby shakes it off and tells Howard to keep the money. Christopher sits down with Nicolas and offers him gobs of money to stop blocking their sale of Ewing Global's commerce division. Nicolas admires Elena and asks Christopher if she's dating anyone. Nicolas finds Carmen in the kitchen and, with Ann there, she pretends not to know him. When Ann leaves, Carmen gives him a big hug.She warns him not to lead Drew or Elena astray. With everyone out enjoying the party, Elena sneaks into Bobby's study and hooks up to his computer. She runs into Christopher back outside, but Nicolas interrupts and asks Elena to show him the sights. She agrees. When he goes to get the car, Christopher warns her: "I know it's not my place to tell him not to go out with him, but don't go out with him." She promises Christopher she's not that easy. As soon as Elena leaves, Heather comes over to Christopher to thank him for inviting her. Then she kisses him, and follows it up by telling him she's direct. She tells him she's interested when he's ready. In Bobby's office, Howard prepares to report his findings to Bobby, Christopher, and John Ross. He reluctantly says the shale is within John Ross' surface rights. But Christopher says they don't need to frack, he thinks he has something on Nicolas. He checked a deal Nicolas mentioned and found Nicolas got the numbers wrong, which makes Christopher think it's a phantom deal. He thinks there another reason Nicolas is helping him. Christopher suggests they look into his background in Mexico. John Ross doesn't want to wait that long and announces he's going to start fracking. Bobby decides to contact the Railroad Commission to see if they'll delay John Ross. At Nicolas' place, Elena goes through the contents of Bobby's computer. She finds an email from Bobby to Carlos Del Sol about the waitress in Mexico. "Talked to Rhonda Simmons. She agreed to play ball with us about JR." Bum meets with John Ross and gives him the pictures he took of John Ross with Emma, telling him to not be so careless. He tells him JR asked him to keep an eye on John Ross and although JR was a great man, the way he ran around on Sue Ellen was a sin. "Grow into your father's greatness, not his weakness," Bum says. Nuevo Laredo, Mexico Judith and Harris Ryland meet with Harris' drug dealing connection, who is wary about doing business with Judith as the head of Ryland Transport. To reassure him, she guides him to essentially feel her up and check for a wire, as Harris is totally embarrassed. Because of Harris' legal troubles, she informs the drug dealer that the drugs will now be carried by trucks from a shell corporation, carrying drilling fluid and waste water. They'll use the shale trucking routes, private roads with no border patrol. Judith asks for more money and reminds the dealer how much he's losing while they're shut down. He agrees and she asks to seal the deal a taste of their product. Someone brings over fat lines of cocaine and she snorts them up like a pro. "Hot damn. Mama like," she says. Harris can barely stand to watch. The dealer warns them another interruption in the shipments will be fatal for Emma. Back home, Harris removes the tape recorder he was wearing, which clearly captured his mother negotiating a drug deal.He gets a call from someone informing him there's a problem. Bobby gets a call from Joe McAllister, the Senator.Bobby and Ann drive to meet him late at night. McAlister wouldn't tell him what it was about, but that late at night, Bobby knew it was something big. On the road, their car is cut off by two black SUVs and a man with a gun invites them to come with him. In a dark and scary warehouse, a serious looking man in a suit warns them to stop looking into why Harris was released. Then Harris joins them. Bobby can't believe Harris is working with a drug lord, but then the man in the suit pulls out a badge. He's CIA. Harris explains: "Four years ago, the Mendez-Ochoa came to me to run drugs. I came to him." The CIA is interested because the cartel are ex-commandos of the Mexican Army and only run drugs to earn enough money to overthrow the government. The cartel thinks they flipped a dirty judge and Bobby's questions are making it difficult. He warns Ann that if the cartel finds out who he's working for, they'll kill her and Emma.
