In flashbacks, some of Sister Jude's life prior to becoming a nun is revealed. Lana continues to be a threat and Sister Jude convinces Dr. Adler to give her shock therapy in the hopes it will affect her memory. He tells her of Operation Paperclip where American officials created false biographies for known Nazis and helped them relocate in the West. He tells her that SS officers have their blood type tattooed on their left arm. It all begins to wrong when Anne Frank's husband shows up to collect his wife, who has had a breakdown since the birth of their baby. She's soon back at Briarcliff and Arden has his own plans for her. Kit is released from solitary but Grace is to go ahead with her operation. Monsignor Howard is called out to a local hospital to tend to the creature that was found in the schoolyard - and he obviously knows who she is. Sister Jude receives a call from Mr. Goodman confirming that Dr. Arden is a former Nazi who escaped at the end of the war. He needs just one more piece of evidence to make a final confirmation. Someone is out to protect the evil doctor however. Flashbacks reveal how he came to stay on at Briarcliff when it was taken over by the church. A woman is convinced her daughter is evil and desperately wants to leave her young daughter Jenny at Briarcliff. Bloody Face tells Lana about his childhood - and the plans he has for her. Lana manages to escape from Bloody Face but gets a ride from someone who definitely has a thing about women. She soon finds herself back in the asylum. Sister Jude visits Mr. Goodman with Arden's fingerprints and finds him on the bathroom floor bleeding to death. He has barely enough life left in him to identify his attacker. Sister Jude learns something about the incident that shaped her life. Kit escapes and returns to the asylum to rescue Grace who is finally set free.

She looks at Lana's file and congratulates her on conquering her "sexual perversion." The rabbit died. Mary Eunice suggests a Drain-o margarita. Lana says the "whole rape thing must have been some kind of hallucination from when I hit my head on the dash board in the car crash." She doesn't want to have the baby, but Sister Mary Eunice says she will."You're worse than Jude, you're a sadist," Lana says. Mary Eunice gives her the test results and she faints. Sister Jude wakes up in traction, cuffed to the bed. Monsignor tells her she killed a man. Jude protests she was defending herself. Then he tells her she killed Frank, the guard. Lee Emerson, aka Bad Santa (Ian McShane), Sister Mary Eunice, and Arden all tell their version of the story in which it was Jude and not Sister Mary Eunice who slashed Frank across the throat. Monsignor said Jude had been showing signs of instability, taking on some of the delusions of some of the patients. Sister Mary Eunice says Jude threatened her with the same straight razor she killed Frank with. A very lucid Bad Santa says he saw Jude slit Frank's throat in cold blood before she tried to kill him. He takes responsibility for his crimes and invokes God. Monsignor tells Jude that a magistrate has determined she'll spend the rest of her life in Briarcliff. He leaves as she's screaming it's a set up. Down in the bakery, Lana watches as the uniforms are delivered, on wire hangers. He tells her he doesn't need her forgiveness. 1964Back at her bedside, Emerson kisses Jude lightly on the head and the Monsignor says it's the beginning of the path to true redemption. Lana visits Kit, where he's still strapped down and pretending to be hooked up to his meds. She wants to kill Thredson. Kit says they can't, because it's the only thing keeping him from the death house. He needs Thredson to confess. Lana thinks she might know how to make it happen. Arden checks out his tunnels after his possible alien encounter and the disappearance of Grace's body. Lana visits Thredson in the storage room where they're keeping him. She takes his gag off and offers him water. She shows him her pregnancy test results. He pleads with her not to give the baby away. She tells him she has to get rid of it and takes out her wire hanger. He assures her he can change, but she thinks he's a sociopath who can't be honest with anyone. When he says he can, she asks why he chose Donna Burton. He says he liked her skin so he skinned her alive.Allison Reidel was a secretary at his dentist's office. He put her to sleep first but she kept talking to him. When she asks about Wendy, he says she never loved Lana. Thredson hears his own voice being played back. Kit has taped him confessing on the world's biggest tape recorder. Lana tells him his baby died last night. Flash to Lana in her cell, performing an abortion with her wire hanger and bleeding all over the floor. She tells him she's going to get a knife in bakery duty and come back later and slit his throat. Kit races through the halls and Arden finds him and wants to talk. Arden lights Kit a cigarette in his office, pouring him a glass of Scotch. Kit is suspicious. Arden tells him he's seen what Kit saw. He took an impression of the three-toed foot imprints. He says he saw the "little green men" Kit says he saw. He points out Kit had sex with both his wife and Grace before they were taken. He thinks the creatures are experimenting and are studying Kit. "If you were to be brought to the brink of death, they would return to reverse the process," Arden says."You want to kill me?""No, Mr. Walker, I want to almost kill you," Arden says. Arden says it would be ideal if Kit would cooperate, Kit agrees for the chance he could see his wife again. Lana hides after her bakery shift. She takes a knife, but is stopped by an orderly who takes it, but doesn't turn her in. Lee Emerson (Bad Santa) prays in the chapel. When Monsignor joins him, Lee thanks him for the chance at redemption. Monsignor thinks Lee could be his miracle, if he could redeem him. Cut to the Monsignor baptizing Lee with his shackles off. Lee thanks the Monsignor, and then dunks him. Back in her room without her knife, Lana takes out her wire hanger and stabs into her pillow with its pointy ends to test it. She leaves her room and goes into Thredson's closet. But he's gone. She runs into Sister Mary Eunice in the hall. When she sees the hanger, Lana tells her it's too late. But Mary Eunice puts her hand on Lana's belly and tells her her attempt failed, and it's a boy. PresentOne of Dr. Gardner's patients comes for an appointment and finds the room ransacked and Gardner skinned in her chair. She turns around and sees bloody Son of Bloody Face (McDermott) standing there. 1964Lana sees Jude come into the common room. All the patients and nuns give her the evil eye. She joins Lana."My god, what did they do to you?" Lana asks. "Nothing I didn't do to you," Jude says. "Give me a cigarette, I've earned it." Jude apologizes to Lana, saying what she did to Lana was immoral. She promises to make it up to her by getting her out. She vows to earn Lana's trust. "Things are gonna change around here," Jude says. She walks over to the record playing "Domnique" incessantly and breaks the record into pieces. "Well, hot damn," Lana says. In Arden's lab, he explains to Kit that he's going to inject potassium chloride directly into Kit's heart. After two minutes, he'll use atropine to revive him with adrenaline. Kit admits he's scared, but lies down and lets Arden jam him. "This is going to hurt," Arden warns. Kit convulses for awhile, then stops moving. Arden checks his pulse, then sees bright white light coming from outside his lab. He runs to the hallway and to one of the cells. Grace is alive, and pregnant full term. Pepper says she'll take care of her. A janitor goes to clean up the church and finds Monsignor strung up on the cross in place of Jesus. He's still alive. At least until the Angel of Death comes to visit him."Help me," he pleads."I'm here," she says.

02 Jan 2013
Description ▼Arden violently tries to resuscitate Kit on his table by pounding on his chest. Nothing happens. Then suddenly Kit sits up with a start. He was dead for several minutes.Arden tells Kit "they" didn't come, even though they did, and pregnant Grace was with them. He set her up in a dungeon cell with Pepper looking over her. Later, Arden looks over Grace, who is looked over by Pepper, who is now able to talk thanks to the aliens. Arden is curious about what's inside Grace and wants to x-ray her. Pepper tells him his x-rays won't penetrate her body. She tells him the aliens mock his techniques and are protecting Grace. He suggests a C section instead, but the scalpel flies out of his hand. Pepper explains how the court was able to blame her when her sister's husband killed their baby, but if he harms Grace, there will be no one else to blame but him. Sister Mary Eunice tells Monsignor Howard there's a manhunt on for Lee Emerson, who crucified him. Flash back to the Angel of Death telling him, as he hung on the cross, that it wasn't his time yet. He has more work to do. She tells him the devil is in Sister Mary Eunice and he has to cast her out. Sister Mary Eunice goes to oversee a "delivery" -- of a juke box. In the common room, Jude says Mary Eunice is doing it to taunt her. Jude smokes insouciantly as Sister Mary Eunice introduces the patients to the juke box. She dedicates a song to Jude, "I Put a Spell on You." Kit comes in and gives Lana a big hug. She tells him Thredson is loose. The Bad Doctor strolls in and calmly sits down with Lana and Kit, telling Lana she's safe until she delivers. But he's ready to resume his treatment of Kit. Sister Mary Eunice has offered him a full-time position, and she's surprisingly adept at untying slipknots. The patients are rousted in the middle of the night. Sister Mary Eunice announces a room search. Lana confronts her over Thredson, so she orders Lana taken to hydrotherapy. Sister Mary Eunice checks Judy's room and comes out with a giant cucumber. Judy dares Mary Eunice to punish her.Cut to Arden strapping her down for electroshock therapy as Sister Mary Eunice helps. Judy struggles, but Mary Eunice cranks the machine as high as it will go. Mary Eunice unwraps the Monsignor's bandages. He presses his rosary against her forehead and prays to cast the devil out, but she flings him across the room. She pushes him down on the bed and climbs on top of him. She takes off her habit to reveals Jude's slinky red negligee underneath. He tries to resist, but his protestations lose conviction as she goes along. Soon, they're having sex.Arden watches in the doorway. Fried Jude comes into the common room and stumbles over to the juke box. She tries to unplug it, but Lana stops her, asking her if she knows her name.Jude plays "The Name Game" on the juke box.Cut to her leading a fantasy dance number in the common room with everyone singing and dancing along as she boogies. Sister Mary Eunice finds Arden outside wheeling a bucket full of flesh for an afternoon feeding. Arden is jealous and pouty. Mary Eunice suggests they give Jude a transorbital lobotomy but Arden says no, because it's what Mary Eunice wants. He tosses chunks to the monsters who come out of the woods, including what used to be Spivey. Arden blows Spivey's brains out."The experiment is over," he says, as he shoots his creatures, one by one.Arden puts the gun to his own head. Mary Eunice doesn't stop him. But instead of pulling the trigger, he collapses in tears."You have no idea what it means to have lost you," he tells Mary Eunice."Jesus Christ, you're being pitiful, Arthur," she says."Then have pity on me," he says, holding on to her.She flings him off and walks away. Down in the bakery, Judy struggles with the dough. Monsignor excuses everyone and apologizes to Jude."There are no words for my regret. The devil lives inside Sister Mary Eunice, you were right. I tried to cast it out, but I failed. It was an epic failure," he says. He tells her his virtue is gone. He's trying to decide whether to renounce his vows and asks for her advice. From her fog, Jude replies: "You kill her." Thredson tells Carl the orderly to bring Kit for his session in a straight jacket. Thredson goes to see Arden. When he's not there, he goes looking for sodium pentothal. He hears Grace's screams from the other room. Pepper is delivering her baby. Sister Mary Eunice interrupts the Monsignor as he prays. She's ready for more, but he tries to get away from her. She knows he's planning to kill her. She taunts him, wondering how he'll do it, perhaps using his rosary like he did with Shelley.Instead, she says she's going to make all of his dreams come true within the church. "You're mine now, body and soul," she says. He tells her he's going to cast the devil out of her.She devil yells at him, backing him up against the railing, telling him she's going to consume the last of Mary Eunice's soul.Suddenly, Mary Eunice breaks through and tells Monsignor she's tired of fighting. He gently tells her to let go, and let go of him. She does and he turns her around then shoves her off the top floor of the atrium. Sister Mary Eunice falls to the floor far below, where she's greeted by the Angel of Death."Take me," Mary Eunice says."I'll take both of you," the Angel says. Later, Monsignor prays over her body. Arden wants to cremate her, just in case. Monsignor agrees, leaving it to Arden. Carl drags Kit, in a straight jacket, to see Thredson. He knows Kit's martyr complex will stop him from telling him where his taped confession is, but he's counting on his savior complex. He opens a door to show Grace, alive, holding a newborn. Grace says it's Kit's son."What are you going to do?" Kit says."That's entirely up to you," Thredson says. Thredson goes to the bath, where Kit hid the tape. Instead, he finds a book. Lana confronts him. She moved the tape and only she knows where it is now. If Thredson hurts Kit, she'll go to the police. "I'm god---- plucky, remember?" In the common room, Judy struggles to remember all the patient's names.Mother Superior joins her. Judy tells her the Monsignor is taking her to Rome. "We're going to be Pope. We're going to be married, he likes my cooking," she says. She tells Mother that Monsignor killed her, he didn't have a choice. Then, as clearly as she can manage, she points out Lana and tells Mother that she doesn't belong there and she should help Lana get out. Down in the crematorium, Arden brushes the hair from Sister Mary Eunice's face. He gently lies on top of her and then presses the button to slide them both into the burning flames. They slide in together as he screams.

His hooker arrives, Pandora, she had her baby three weeks ago."You understand what I want, right?" he says."You were very clear. I even gave my baby a bottle of formula so I wouldn't run dry," she says. "Breast feeding is so important for early development," he says. She takes her top off. He wants it so bad he'd "kill for it." He goes in to nurse. At Briarcliff, Thredson comes to get Kit from his cell to visit his new son. Thredson says he understands the value of love and protection for a baby. Thredson takes him to the common room to see Grace and their son, Thomas. Pepper stands over her protectively, so Thredson menacingly orders her taken to the hydrotherapy room. He's concerned over how her nursing is going. He leaves Kit and Grace alone with their baby. Kit struggles to understand what happened.Grace remembers being shot and seeing a bright white light. She wakes up on an examining table surrounded by white light. An alien that looks like a brain with two tentacles examined her and then probed her, putting the baby inside her. Time works differently up there. It seemed like she was gone 100 years. "They're not like us, Kit, they're not cruel," she says. But when he asks about Alma, she says they're not perfect. Grace floats in a pool of water with the aliens and sees Alma floating there. Grace tells Kit that he's special and so is their son. "He's going to change the way people think," she says.Kit asks Grace to marry him. She agrees. Monsignor Howard brings in a group of nuns, they're there to take the baby. Kit tries to fight, but they take him away. Thredson watches smugly. "Kit, I'm so sorry. I can only imagine the heartache of having your only son ripped from your arms. Maybe I can help," he says. Down in the bakery, Mother Claudia comes to get Lana. She tells Lana she's taking her out of there. She explains that Jude told her what she did to Lana. She has Lana's patient file for her, to back up whatever expose she writes. Her clothes and a taxi are waiting for her. Lana cuts into a bag of flower and takes out the recording of Thredson to take with her. Lana says good-bye to Sister Jude first, and promises to come back for her. Lana walks down the stairs in her street clothes, carrying the tape in her purse. Thredson talks to Kit at the bottom, making her promises if he only gets the tape from Lana. He thinks Arden is the perfect new fall guy for Bloody Face, now that he's disappeared. Kit sees Lana and diverts Thredson just enough to let Lana pass. She walks out the front door as Kit tells Thredson he'll try to get the tape. Mother Claudia shows Lana into the waiting cab and hands her her file just as Thredson walks out the front door. Lana holds the tape up to the window for him to see, and flips him the bird as the cab drives off. Thredson arrives home later in a panic. Lana's waiting for him, holding a gun on him. She tells him the police have the tape and will be there soon. He says he's relieved. "Living with secrets is not healthy," he says. "I was right, Lana. I knew you were the one." She promises him he'll pay for every sick thing he did to her and every other woman he murdered. He takes off his coat and makes himself a martini. He stirs, she holds the gun on him. In the present, Son of Bloody Face stops nursing on his hooker."The way you drained me, I'd say that you either have a mommy fixation, or a calcium deficiency," Pandora the hooker says.He pauses for a cigarette and tells Pandora his mom never loved him or his father and only loved one person. Back in Thredson's house, we see a gun in the drawer near where he was making his drink. Lana asks what he did with Wendy's body. "She was the first body I had that remained intact," he says. He kept her for "practice."We see Thredson having his way with her cold, dead corpse. "Wendy allowed us to create this life you have growing inside you," he says. What he couldn't burn, he cut up and scattered. Back in the present, in Son of Bloody Face's same house, "Johnny" rages as he thinks of his mother. He starts to choke Pandora. Back in 1964, Thredson goes for a refill, near his gun. Sirens approach in the distance. She tells him he'll never see his baby. He expects to escape the electric chair and get sent to an institution. He tells her he has no use for her anymore. He's standing near his gun.Suddenly, Lana fires, blowing his head off."Prison's too good for you," she says. Cut to Lana in a mausoleum with friends, visiting Wendy. The police found a lot of ashes in the furnace. Even if it's not all Wendy, she needed a place to remember her.She has a few things to wrap up and then she's moving to New York. She blames her own ambition to get a good story. A friend gave her a doctor's name to "get rid of her little problem."She ignores photographers and reporters snapping pictures as she leaves the mausoleum."All I can say is: Read my book," she says. Back in Briarcliff, the patients line up for their meds, including Sister Jude, who's still not right after her shock treatment. She knocks the tray of pills out of the nuns hands, telling everyone not to take them. "They turn your brains to mush!" Monsignor Howard reads the newspaper headlines: Horror at Briarcliff and Monsignor Howard refuses to comment on the hiring of "Bloody Face" at Briarcliff.Reporters are camped outside. Monsignor Howard visits Jude in the common room, rocking out to "Love Potion No. 9" on the juke box. He pulls the plug. Jude asks if he realizes the irony that he gave his virtue not to a woman, but the devil. He's not planning to leave the church. She rails at him, telling him she sees through him and his "stupid, pitiful, naked ambition." "I am more sane now as a mad woman than I ever was as the head of Briarcliff," she says. Howard has her taken to solitary. "You will not prevail, Timothy, my God would never allow it," she says as she's being led away. In solitary, Carl the orderly brings Kit his release papers and tells him Lana killed Thredson. Kit goes to see Monsignor Howard to get his son back. He demands Howard let Grace out and get Thomas, otherwise he'll start talking to the reporters. All Howard has to do is release Grace's body. Her file officially lists her as dead. "You can make all your problems go away, nobody ever needs to know," he says. Cut to a cab pulling up at Kit's house with Kit, Grace and baby Thomas. His key is right where he left it. Inside still shows the after effects of the aliens' visit. They hear a noise in the other room. Kit goes to inspect. In the bedroom, he finds Alma holding a baby. Lana meets with a doctor in a house, she's made up her mind about getting rid of the baby. The doctor is ready to proceed. Lana pictures the million horrors she's witnessed as the doctor prepares.Suddenly, she tells the doctor to stop. "No more death," she says. Lana meets with the police, telling them about all the people who have disappeared from Briarcliff. She wants back in to help get Sister Jude out, Mother Claudia has been transferred away. Cut to police bringing a court order to Monsignor Howard, allowing them to speak with Sister Jude.He says she's dead. Cut to him running into her room, to see her hanging from her bedsheets. He had her cremated. "You murdered her. You might as well have tied the noose yourself," he says. He tells her she should have come two weeks ago.He watches Lana leave. Down in the bakery, meals are prepared for the patients and brought up to the rooms. A solitary tray is brought to the darkest corner of Briarcliff. The tray is slid through the door of a windowless cell, where Jude sits inside, praying the Rosary. In a hospital, a nurse brings Lana her newborn son. She had asked not to see him, but he's allergic to the formula so the nurse brought him anyway.Lana contemplates her screaming son and changes her mind. She nurses him, looking away and up, at the crucifix on the bed above her.

Description ▼1967Scenes of a darkened house at night, and family photos of Kit with his two wives -- Alma and Grace -- and their babies. We hear noises. Of lust? Then pan over to see Kit, in his underwear, covered in blood and standing over something holding a bloody ax. At the house in happier daylight times, Grace furiously scribbles a drawing of an alien as the kids, Thomas and Julia, play nearby.Kit comes home and says hello to the two women. He's fired up about an upcoming march. Later that night, alone with Alma, she says Grace is obsessed about their abduction. Alma thinks Grace is unhappy and he should spend more time with her."She needs you, Kit, go to her," Alma says. Kit pads into Alma's room, where she's drawing another alien. She's doing it for their children. "They need to know where they came from," she says. She's not afraid of the aliens, though, she's afraid of the same feelings she felt the night she hacked her family to bits. Kits assures her she's a difference person now. Alma can hear the sounds of their love making in the next room. Suddenly, the lights go out. Alma thinks it's the aliens, but they see a truck driving away after someone throws a Molotov cocktail through their window. Kit knows it was Billy but the police won't help, referencing polygamy. Alma cries alone in her room. She thought the aliens were coming back. Another day, Alma gets mad at Grace for talking about the aliens like it was some kind of religious experience. Her abduction was awful. Grace believes the aliens will come back one day for Kit and the children.Alma thinks her life was better before her husband brought home an ax murderer. When Grace asks Alma if she wants her daughter to grow up ashamed of who she is, Alma backhands her.Kit walks in from chopping wood and calls a family meeting, but Grace isn't interested. At night, Kit gets out of bed with Alma and goes into the living room where Grace is drawing again. She tells Kit she loves them all and her life, but something has changed."I won't live in fear and isolation, never again," Grace says. She wants to embrace the future. She's explaining when suddenly she stops talking. Alma has buried an ax into her back. She babbles something about Grace wanting to bring the aliens back into their home.Kit pulls Alma off and checks on Grace, but she's gone. He removes the ax from her back (the opening scene). 1968Back at Briarcliff, Jude and Pepper play Candyland with some of the patients. President Johnson comes on the TV to announce MLK has been killed. Jude helpfully tells Pepper that a patient's meds need to be adjusted, she's running things from the inside. Monsignor Howard asks to talk to her. Jude is called Betty Drake now. He's been appointed Cardinal and says the church is relinquishing control of Briarcliff and turning it into an overflow of the jail. He promises to get her released. Down in the bakery later, Jude is freaked out when she recognizes one of the new inmates transferred from county: the Angel of Death (Frances Conroy). Now she's a slouchy, tough talking con. She offers to let Jude run things with her. Jude thinks she's come to kill her. Later, Pepper cautions Jude not to put too much faith in the Monsignor. More patients come in, including Alma. Later that night, Jude is shown back to her room and finds her new roommate: the Angel of Death. She announces everything in the room belongs to her, including Jude. She advances on Jude, who keeps insisting she didn't call her. Jude warns her to stay away. The next day, Jude's new roommate comes into the common room. She reminds a patient he was supposed to save his meds and give them to her. She stabs him with a shiv and blows Jude a kiss. Jude wakes up in bed and sees the Angel of Death, in full feathered black garb, coming in for her deadly kiss. She fights her off. When the guards arrive, Jude is beating the pulp out of an inmate -- not the Angel. Jude comes to in a straight jacket in Dr. Miranda Crump's office. She's confused, especially when Dr. Crump tells her she's had five roommates in two months. She asks about the Monsignor and mentions her release. Crump says Timothy Howard was appointed cardinal two and a half years ago, around the time the church donated Briarcliff.Jude thinks she talked to him Monday. Jude asks about Pepper and is told she died in the winter of '66. 1969Lana Winters is introduced at a book store. "Maniac: the Story of One Woman's Survival" has been on the best seller list for 10 weeks. She reads a passage from it, remembering her captivity and endless time in Dr. Thredson's basement, but with flourishes. She remembers another woman being brought down to the basement and introduced as their new toy. Suddenly Lana imagines Dr. Thredson stand up from the audience, busting her for lying. She insists he told her that's what he was going to do, but he says she wrote it that way to sell more books. "I'm a writer, it's my job to tell the 'essence of truth,'" Lana insists. "Is that why you called me your 'roommate'?" Wendy asks from the audience. Wendy complains she was made to seem asexual and irrelevant. Thredson accuses her of only being interested in fame. Lana snaps out of it, wiping tears off her face. The audience applauds. Later, during the book signing, Lana chews out her assistant for bringing her warm Tab and no almonds. She looks up at the next person in line. It's Kit. She says she's sorry about Grace and wanted to write, but it's just been so crazy. She just sold the film rights to her book. They go for coffee and Lana talks about herself, telling Kit she's writing about Lee "Bad Santa" Emerson next. He killed seven nuns after he escaped. Kit asks why she's doing it. "I have a perspective on the stunted male psyche that no one else has," she insists proudly.Kit reminds her she promised to take down Briarcliff and save Jude. She says people change. Flash to:Kit visits Alma in Briarcliff, where one patient is playing with his catheter and another pair is having sex in the corner. The madhouse is even more so. Flash back to Kit with Lana, who didn't know Alma was there. Then back to Briarcliff, where Kit is standing over Alma's deathbed. Her heart stopped. He apologizes to her for completely failing her. He says he's going to try to make it right. Back with Lana, Kit says only one of them is left: Jude.Lana insists she saw her death certificate. But Kit saw her. Back at Briarcliff, the conditions have clearly deteriorated even more. Inmates are crowded everywhere and it's filthy and broken. In the common room, Jude commandeers the TV to watch her "story." Kit approaches her, but she doesn't acknowledge him. She points at the TV, saying they stole her story. She's watching "The Flying Nun."Jude insists she can fly without the hat. She rocks in her seat. She's bananas. With Lana, she tells him the Monsignor said Jude was dead. Kit wants her to get the place shut down. Lana says Jude made every bed in that place.Lana's assistant interrupts to bring her back to the book signing. Kit walks back to his truck. As he drives off, we pan over to present day, Son of Bloody Face in his car, smoking crack. Later, he goes to a bookstore going out of business, looking to buy "Maniac." He tells the woman there to name her price. The old woman there says it's her mother's personal copy and not for sale. Johnny tells her he's Lana Winters' son, but she knows Lana's only child died at birth. He asks to see the book. The woman takes it out and shows it to him, then puts it away. He insists it's his fate to own that book. He explains it's his fate to meet Lana, and introduce himself by saying: "I'm in your book, except I didn't die. I'm the piece of trash you threw away 48 years ago. I'm your son." Then, when she understands who he is, he'll pull out his.9mm and shoot her. "And, finally, I would have completed my father's work. But first, I'm going to need that book," he says. The woman nervously hands it over.

Description ▼Four Months Ago Johnny busts into empty, dilapidated Briarcliff listening to his mother Lana Winter's book on tape. He walks through the halls and imagines seeing her in the bath room, telling him he was conceived in hate and is an abomination. Lana writes about the Nor'Easter of '64 and Oliver Thredson. Johnny imagines seeing Lana and Thredson in the old Briarcliff halls. Thredson, dear old dad, tells Johnny he loves him and Lana stole that from him. Johnny hides as our doomed newlyweds Leo and Theresa come in on their honeymoon and stop from doing it to go investigate a noise. Leo sticks his hand in the room where Johnny is getting high and listening to the book on tape. Johnny takes the Bloody Face mask out of his bag and puts it on, taking out his machete as Leo sticks his phone in the room through the slot to take a picture. Johnny hacks off Leo's arm. Lana Winters now has six best sellers and a reputation as the only woman that men will open up to for big interviews. April the interviewer chats Lana up as a TV crew sets up. Lana's girlfriend, a famous stage star, casually brings her a glass of wine and leaves for work. Lana knows how to set up the lights to show her best features. She's being interviewed before her Kennedy Center honor. April wants to start with Bloody Face, but Lana refuses to give him any more attention. Instead, they start with the Briarcliff expose that launched her career. Back to Briarcliff, Lana leads a camera crew in through the secret tunnel entrance, determined to expose the conditions of the place. Back with April, Lana is asked where she got her sense of justice. Lana admits it was more about ambition. She switched to TV when she realized it was the future. "Briarcliff Exposed" runs with footage of patients in their filth. Lana narrates, explaining that patients are often left alone. They film patients until an orderly finally shows up. She asks if it's their policy to leave patients unattended and dirty. She demands to see Judy Martin. Lana shines her camera's light into a small cell where Jude is inside. She's filthy, her hair a rat's nest. She tries to hide from the camera and doesn't seem to understand what Lana is saying to her as she tells Jude she was put there to cover up the abuses of the church. Lana gently leads Jude out of there. Present April admits she doesn't remember that scene. It's because it's never happened. By the time she got to Briarcliff, Jude was gone.Lana did shut down Briarcliff, but it wasn't the ending she wanted. Lana calls for a break and asks for a sparkling water. A crew member brings her one. It's Johnny. Lana knocks on Kit's door after Briarcliff is shut down. Kit sees her camera crew nearby. Lana explains she wants to know who Betty Drake is, and if she's here. Kit won't talk on camera, but he sits down with her. Lana found out that Jude hadn't existed for years, she was now Betty Drake. She found a file that said Betty was released into Kit's care in 1970, a few months after he came to see Lana at the book signing. Kit questions Lana's motives. Kit went back for Lana because it was something he could do. He started visiting Jude after Alma died. He could tell there was still some of the old Jude left. Briarcliff was just happy to have one less patient to care for. He brought her home. He says he did it for his kids, to leave Briarcliff behind by finding some way to forgive.First they had to see her through detox. For awhile things seemed to go well. His kids got along with her, even when she yelled at them. But Kit says it got worse before it got better. Jude got confused, thinking she was at Briarcliff and Kit was Bloody Face. She raged with a broom, knocking things over. Kit tried to get his kids to safety, but they calmly took Jude by the hand and walked her outside. "I still don't know what happened in those woods. When they came back, something was different. Grace was right, those children were special," Kit tells Lana. Cut to Jude teaching Kit dance steps, seeming like her old self. Suddenly, her nose started to bleed. "For six months, she taught them how to swing dance and swear like a sailor. My Thomas learned how to sew and she took away Julia's dolls and gave her trucks, to make her tough. I don't know if those last six months made up for a lifetime of horrors, but she sure seemed happy," Kit says. Jude lies in bed as Thomas and Julie lie on the bed with her. She pulls them close, saying she has a few more things to tell them. She tells Julia not to ever let a man tell her who she is, or make her feel like she is less than he is. It's 1971, and she can do anything she wants. She tells Thomas never to take a job just for the money, but find something he loves. Kit brings her food, but she won't eat. She tells the kids to go outside and play. She tells Kit "she" is here for her. Kit doesn't know who she's talking about, but we see the Angel of Death. The Angel makes sure Jude is really ready this time before she gently kisses her to sleep. Back in the interview, April mentions that Lana's next story was "controversial." It was about Cardinal Howard and Dr. Arden. She cornered him, asking about Arden's human experiments and all the patients that went missing when he was there. Howard gets in his car and drives off. April says some people still blame Lana for what happened. Lana chalks it up to Howard's guilty conscience. We see him dead, with his wrists slit in a bathtub. Lana explains that Howard was "so corrupt and deluded he believed his own lies." "Lies are like scars on your soul, they destroy you," Lana asks.April asks if she's referring to more than Cardinal Howard. "I'm going to come clean about a lie I've told for 40 years," Lana says, mentioning how she wrote that her child had died at birth. "I just prayed really hard that someone else would give him the mothering he would need," she said as she explains Thredson's baby lived. In the other room, Johnny can hear as Lana describes a period of remorse she had in the 70s about giving him up. She tried to track him down. Lana goes to a playground and sees a kid picking on a smaller kid. She intervenes, asking the smaller kid if he's OK. That was the last time she saw him. She served as godmother to Kit's kids with his new wife, Allison.Thomas is a law professor at Harvard and Julia is a neurosurgeon at John's Hopkins. Kit got pancreatic cancer when he was around 40.Lana visited him. "And then the strangest thing happened, he disappeared," Lana tells April. Kit wheels through his living room and sees the old familiar bright lights.Kit's children insisted there was no reason to mourn. After the interview, April thanks Lana for being so accommodating. Lana sees everyone out and goes for a drink. She grabs two glasses, addressing Johnny and telling him he doesn't need to hide any more. "Let's get this over with, shall we?" she says to him. "So I guess you've had a pretty great life, huh?" Johnny says, coming out from where he was hiding. "It's been eventful." "It's about to end. You get that, right?" he says. "I knew it the moment I saw you," Lana says. Lana asks how he got on the crew. Johnny says he cut the throat of the first guy who showed up with donuts. He's in the trash bin. "This isn't how I pictured it," he says. "Really? Because this is exactly how I pictured it. I always knew this day would come," she says. She claims she recognized her own son. But cut to her meeting with two law enforcement officers who brief her on Johnny, including the fact he is believed to have killed five people, including the elderly couple who lived in Thredson's old home. Lana coolly lights a cigarette as she tells Johnny he looks like his father. She asks how he found out who he was. He says it was that day on the playground, he felt something. He found Thredson's confessional tape on eBay, the one where Lana threatened to get rid of the baby. Johnny thinks his father loved him, but Lana says he didn't. She gave him up so he'd have some chance at a life. Johnny stands up and yells at her.She asks what it's going to be and he takes out a gun. "Your father once told me he didn't believe in guns, but of course he was lying about that, too," she says. "I just want him to be proud of me, I can't measure up," Johnny says.Lana tells Johnny his father was a monster, and he's not. Even on the playground, she knew he was a better man than his father was. Lana calmly take his gun in her hands and lowers it as she tells him gently that she's a part of him, too. Johnny breaks down, saying he's hurt people. "It's not your fault, baby," she says. Then she raises his gun and points it at his forehead. "It's mine." She pulls the trigger, shooting her son Johnny, Son of Bloody Face, in the head, just like dear old dad. Flash back to 1964, Lana asking Jude to meet Bloody Face. Jude tells Lana she's got her pegged and can tell she's ambitious. "I do hope you know what you're in for, the loneliness, heartbreak, the sacrifice as a woman with a dream on her own," Jude says. "You don't have any idea what I'm capable of," Lana says. "Just remember, if you look in the face of evil, evil's gonna look right back at you," Jude says. Lana walks out the front door and life at Briarcliff goes on, to the tune of "Dominique."

Description ▼At a dinner party, Madame Delphine LaLaurie introduces her three daughters: Marie-Louise Pauline, Marie-Louise Jeanne and, from her first marriage, Joaquita. She promises their potential suitors that what they may lack in outer beauty, they make up for in other talents, except she's not quite sure where Pauline's talents lie.Pauline suggests they're in the boudoir, angering her mother.New Orleans, 1834Later, Madame paints her face with blood, said to tighten her skin. Her husband comes to alert her, something happened during the dinner party. Madame goes to her daughter Pauline and beats her ferociously for sleeping with one of the black servants. He insists that she came on to him, but Madame is unmoved. She drags him upstairs, where she has a dozen black men in wooden cages, including one with his eyes and mouths sewn shut."Why are you doing this to us?" pleads one."Because I can," says Madame serenely. The skin has been peeled back from one's face and maggots chew at his flesh, as he's still alive. She calls for the bull head and has it put on the offending slave's head as he fights and writhes in his chains. Madame LaLaurie's husband is impressed with her ingenuity. (Present Day)Zoe brings a boy home to her empty house. He checks to make sure she's sure, and worries about being her first as they strip. As soon as they begin having sex, blood starts dripping from his nose. His eyes roll back and he starts twitching. Later, Zoe rides a train. The official word on Charlie's death was brain aneurism. Her mother told her she has a "genetic affliction" like her grandmother. She's a witch. She reads through an old history book, about how the real Salem witches avoided detection during the trials and then fled to New Orleans. Her mother tells her about a boarding school for girls like her and albino men in suits and sunglasses come for her as her mother says it's too dangerous for her to stay. Zoe arrives in New Orleans at Miss Robichaux's Academy. It's in a stately white mansion behind a wrought iron gate. Inside, the walls are pure white and mostly unadorned except for portraits. Zoe sees something sneak through the house, but can't find it. She wanders around the empty rooms. Two figures in capes pass by her, another one grabs her and throws her on a table. She screams but then they take off their masks. They're just messing with her.She meets Queenie, Madison Montgomery the movie star and Nan, who has Down syndrome. Then Cordelia Foxx, the headmistresses, introduces herself. She gives a brief history on the school, which was founded in 1790, and converted into a military hospital during the Civil War. In 1868, Marian Morton, the reigning supreme at the time, bought the house and established it as a safe haven for young witches. It was once home to 60 girls. She explains that each generation has one supreme, one witch who is the most powerful. Cordelia is not it, nor is Zoe. Cordelia explains the risks of not learning to control one's powers through the story of Misty Day, a young girl with the power to bring things back to life. At a revival service, Misty brings back a bird and then collapses. Her people strung her up, doused her in gasoline and set her on fire. "It's you that will end in flames, I swear it," she said as she burned.Cordelia reminds the girls that they're always at risk. At a research facility, Fiona Goode hears from her head researcher, David, about his serum RF47. He shows her video footage of a monkey that was the equivalent of an 80-year-old woman. After receiving the injection, the monkey was able to walk and bounce around like a young monkey. They'll be ready for human trials in two years, but Fiona wants it now for an injection of "vitality". Her late husband's money is funding the research. David says no. Later, Fiona rocks out by herself, doing lines of cocaine as she sees the news about Misty. David comes to her apartment. He's been injecting her with his serum for five days and nothing has changed. She wants him to double the dose, but he says no and resigns. With a flick of her wrist, she closes her patio doors, turns out the lights and then flings him across the room. She starts kissing him and he ages rapidly, finally dying on the floor an old man. At dinner, Spalding the mute butler serves the girls dinner. Madison mocks him mercilessly, and because he has no tongue, he cannot reply. The girls quiz Zoe on what brought her to the school. Nan tells Zoe she'll find "a strange and unexpected love." Madison claims she gets blamed for things she didn't do, but Nan knows otherwise.Flash to Madison on a movie set and the director yelling cut when she misses her mark, explaining the light needs to hit her. She uses her magic to loosen the screws of a spot overhead and it falls, killing him. Queenie lays into her, suggesting she take an acting class. They start yelling and Queenie jabs a knife in her own hand and Madison's starts to bleed -- Queenie's a human voodoo doll. Queenie holds a knife to her throat and Nan whisks Queenie away for a walk to diffuse the situation. "Well, given the choices around here, it looks like you're my new best friend," Madison tells Zoe. She informs Zoe they'll be going to a frat party. In her greenhouse lab, Cordelia mixes up a potion. Fiona comes up behind her and startles her.She thought Fiona was in Switzerland, but she was in LA. She tells her mother she looks rough and offers her a potion. Her mother tells Cordelia she's a disappointment as the only child of the supreme.Cordelia wants her to leave, but Fiona says she's there to help. She heard about Misty being burned at the stake and thinks it's Salem all over again. Fiona thinks Cordelia's is teaching the witches to cower and her philosophy is all wrong.Cordelia threatens to call the council, but Fiona points out they wouldn't turn the supreme away."When are you going to die and stop ruining my life?" Cordelia asks.Fiona is stung."I'm here and I'm staying, so why don't we make the best of it?" says Fiona. On the frat bus, Kyle Spencer gives the rules for the night heading into the party. It's a rager in a giant frat house. Madison Montgomery strolls into the party like she owns the place. Zoe feels totally out of place in the tight black dress Madison made her wear, but Kyle notices her. She sees him through the ice sculpture but walks away. He brings her a drink. She tells him she thinks frats are full of fascists. He doesn't mind being reduced to a stereotype, but he's there on scholarship. One of Kyle's frat buddies approaches Madison, who calls him her slave and orders him to bring a drink. He roofies her. Kyle and Zoe talk the night away. "You're the first hot girl I've ever met who doesn't want to talk about herself, there must be something wrong with you," he says. She tells him she likes him, but it won't work out. She asks if he's seen Madison. Upstairs, the frat guys take turns raping a totally out-of-it Madison. Kyle goes upstairs to look and finds them videotaping the gang rape. He pulls them off and scares them away.Zoe finds her and checks on her then goes after the guys.Kyle chases after the lead guy for his phone as evidence to give to the cops, but they knock him out and throw him on the floor of the bus. Madison pulls herself out of bed and stumbles down to the street. She sees the bus driving away and with a gentle flick of her wrist, she flips it over. A news report the next morning says that seven fraternity members died and two are in the hospital. Zoe thinks they should tell someone. Fiona wanders in like she owns the place and tells Madison her bus trick was sloppy. When Madison is rude to her, Fiona flings her against a wall while coolly lighting her cigarette without a flame. She announces they're taking a field trip. They're going to Pop's Fountain, a kind of holy place for their order. Back in the 1970s, Marion led an alternative coven there. After Hurricane Katrina, the city closed the place down. Madison continues to dismiss Fiona, it's Nan who announces Fiona is the supreme. As they're walking, suddenly Nan wanders off and to the historic home of Madame LaLaurie. Fiona brings the other witches and compels the tour guide to give them a free tour. The torture LaLaurie inflicted spawned two centuries of haunting. As the tour guide talks, we see LaLaurie running out of her special blood for her face. She makes her daughter gets it from cutting out the pancreases of slaves. The tour continues to the attic, where LaLaurie tortured her slaves and where, we learn, she also met her own demise. A mysterious woman (Angela Bassett) visits Madame LaLaurie, saying she has a potion guaranteed to ensure her husband's fidelity. LaLaurie drinks it down, then writhes on the floor. One of the slaves LaLaurie tortured was Marie Laveau's lover and she came to exact her revenge. Laveau goes up to the attic and sees her lover strung up with the bull's head on. However, Madame LaLaurie's body was never found and no one knows where she is buried, the guide explains. Out in the garden, Nan tells Fiona that she hears the lady of the house beneath the cobblestones. Zoe goes to the hospital. She sees that the leader of the gang rape lived and is in a hospital bed. She closes his room door. Fiona has her things moved into the house. Cordelia threatens to spell the locks. "Don't make me drop a house on you," Fiona says. Zoe goes to a memorial, where people lay flowers for Kyle. Madison cries alone from her trauma in the shower. In the hospital, Zoe decides that since she can't experience real love, she's going to put her curse to good use. She gets the unconscious rapist aroused, then climbs on top of him and rides him until he dies. Fiona goes back Madame LaLaurie's house and spells two men to dig up her coffin. She opens it up to find Madame inside -- bound, gagged, alive, and unaged. "C'mon, Mary Todd Lincoln, I'll buy you a drink," Fiona says.

When one pulls a gun on her, she uses her necromancer powers to bring their prizes back to life to seek revenge. The two trappers are eaten by their own gators. At the school, Zoe is still upset over Kyle's death, but Madison thinks he would have taken a turn on her when given the chance. "Given your back widow status, he was kind of living on borrowed time anyway," Madison sneers. Cordelia comes to get Fiona for morning gathering and notices a foul stench coming from her room. Fiona blocks the door.Inside, she has Madame LaLaurie bound to a chair and gagged. Fiona leaves her there for the moment, but promises to come back to get the answer to how it is Madame is still alive after more than 150 years in the ground. Detroit 2012Queenie works at a fried chicken restaurant. When a customer quibbles with her over the number of pieces of chicken in his basket and then calls her a "fat bitch," she dives her hand into a vat of boiling oil and enjoys it as the skin on his hand bubbles and falls off.At the morning gathering, she explains that Cordelia read about it in the news and found her. Detective Sanchez and Stiles interrupt to talk to Madison and Zoe. Some people at the party saw Madison go in a back room with some of the guys, she says they just wanted to get her high. Then the detectives surprise Zoe by asking about her visit to the hospital to see the head rapist, who died right after of a mysterious ailment. They know her boyfriend died the same way. Zoe cracks and blurts out that those boys gang raped Madison and then Madison flipped the bus because she's a witch and they're all witches. Cordelia tries to cover by saying Zoe is having a mental break, but then Fiona saunters in to handle things. She spits in two glasses of water and orders the detectives to drink. One does, the other fights her mind control and starts bleeding from his nose. He finally caves and she asks them to turn over whatever information they've gathered on the girls and never mention it again. Upstairs, Madison and Zoe yell at each other, fearing the trouble they're about to get in. Then Fiona comes in and flings them both against the wall. She tells Zoe she's soft and worries too much what people think of her. Even the weakest of witches is stronger than regular people, she lectures. "The point is, in this whole wide wicked world, the only thing you have to be afraid of is me," Fiona says. Zoe and Madison break into the county morgue. Madison says she wants to repay Zoe by bringing Kyle back to life, she stole a spell. Madison opens his body bag and finds he's in pieces. Madison suggests they take the best boy parts, attach them to Kyle's head and make the perfect boyfriend. At a gynecology appointment, Fiona gets bad news that her fertility drugs aren't working after a year of taking them. The doctor suggests in vitro. Her husband asks if she wants to keep trying and suggests she use magic, but she doesn't want to become her mother. "This kind of magic, it's dark. It's about life and death, and I don't want to play god," Cordelia says."So you're going to let Dr. Morrison play God instead?" Hank says. Fiona talks to Madame LaLaurie, who is shocked to learn she's been in the ground 180 years. Fiona wants to know who did it to her. Flash back to LaLaurie talking the "love potion" from Marie Laveau and waking up to face Laveau and dozens of the black people she's been abusing for years. Her own husband and three daughters are strung up dead."Don't think that they did suffer, because they did greatly," Laveau says. She explains it wasn't a love potion but immortality she gave LaLaurie. The crowd puts her in a wooden box and buries her. Back at the morgue, Madison and Zoe stitch together Kyle using new parts. Madison begins the spell and they both breathe in the smoke from her potion. She cuts Zoe's hand to complete the spell from Azazel, Lord of the Underworld."Did we just marry the devil, because I don't know if I'm down with that," Zoe says. They chant over Kyle's Frankenstein Monster's body.Madison finishes her chanting with "arise!" But nothing happens. Madison leaves, but Zoe stays behind, saying she has to find her phone. When Madison sees a car pull up, she bails on Zoe. Zoe apologizes to Kyle for letting him get in the accident. She leans over Kyle's body and kisses him. A man comes in the morgue and finds Zoe. And then Kyle wakes up. He starts beating the man, until Zoe shouts at him to stop. Fiona goes to an African-American hair parlor. She finds Marie Laveau. At the house, Nan is trying to read a book but a loud voice won't leave her alone. She goes up to Fiona's room and unties Madame LaLaurie, telling her she thinks too loud. Queenie comes to investigate the ruckus and LaLaurie knocks her out with a candlestick. At the hair salon, Marie Laveau recognizes Fiona as a witch. As a practitioner of voodoo, she's no fan of witches. She claims the witches of Salem from whom Fiona is descended got their magic from her ancestor. Marie Laveau is supposedly buried in a tomb in St. Louis, but Fiona found her in the Ninth Ward. Fiona tells her what she's after. Marie calls her muscle to toss Fiona out, so Fiona lights her racks of wigs on fire, promising she'll be back. In her greenhouse, Cordelia works on her spell. Later, with two giant eggs and a circle of black salt, they begin her spell, stabbing each other's fingers to draw blood. Then they have sex, surrounded by a ring of fire. The eggs break and snakes slither all over them as they finish -- but then everything disappears. Zoe drives Kyle home. He's not right and doesn't understand what's going on. Suddenly, Misty pops up from the backseat. Zoe drew her out with her spell. She directs them to her home on the swamp. There, she spackles Kyle together with swamp mud.She explains how Zoe's magic called to her as she listens to "Rhiannon." She explains that Stevie Nick was a White Witch. Misty offers to heal Kyle and says he'll be right when Zoe comes back. Later that night at the salon, Marie tells someone that someone has returned -- it's the man in the bull's head, her lover (still wearing the bull's head, for some reason). Fiona easily finds LaLaurie sitting outside her old home. Fiona doesn't feel much sympathy for her. LaLaurie grieves for her dead children -- not the husband, she was planning on killing him for weeks. She says hell was seeing her daughter's faces endlessly in the box. She asks Fiona if she's a witch, she's hoping she might know how to kill her.Fiona might kill her yet, but for now, they head home.
3The Replacements

Description ▼Fiona wakes up in the middle of the night and goes for pills and booze. New Orleans 1971Teenage Fiona asks the reigning Supreme Anna Lee when she became Supreme. Mimi De Lampre called a council and Anna Lee performed the seven wonders and was proclaimed to be the heir to the supremacy. But Anna Lee says she knew before that, when she was about the age Fiona is now. Still, Anna Lee cautions Fiona, having four or five powers doesn't mean she's the Supreme, that can't be confirmed until she masters the seven wonders. Fiona is ready to prove herself. "You don't want to be replaced, by me. They say when a new Surpeme starts to flower, the old supreme starts to fade. You've been fading, Anna Lee," Fiona says. Anna Lee is suffering from diabetes, heart trouble and liver failure. Anna Lee is firmly against Fiona taking over as Supreme and tells her she'll bring ruin on the coven. She vows to do whatever it takes to keep Fiona from taking over. But before she can go on, Fiona slits her throat, right there in the living room. Spalding the mute butler, sees it all. Later, in the present, Fiona waits at a bar to be picked up, knowing it will happen as it always has. But she's passed by. Fiona goes to see a doctor, asking to see a video of the surgery, which involves the skin being pulled back from the face. Zoe goes to see Kyle's mom to pay her condolences. Alicia Spencer is an aging hippie who's getting through her grief with Kyle's weed stash, and sleeping in his room. She calls him "a natural gentleman in his bones." She tells Zoe she was about to hang herself when Zoe called. Zoe assures her she'll see her son again. "Kyle's not left us," she says. Queenie, Madison and Nan watch the new neighbors move in. One is a hot young teenager, whose mother cites scripture when he takes his shirt off, telling him to cover himself up. Up in her room, Madame LaLaurie weeps as she learns that the US has a black president. Fiona tells LaLaurie she's going to learn about the world as the maid. Downstairs, Queenie recognizes LaLaurie as the one who brained her with a candlestick. But when she says so, LaLaurie forgets her new place. "How dare you open that foul mouth to me negress?" LaLaurie says. When Queenie asks for her breakfast, LaLaurie hurls it against the wall -- it's just too much for the former slave owner and torturer to wait on a black person. Fiona is having none of it, she orders Queenie to consider LaLaurie her personal slave from now on. There's nothing she hates more than racists. Out in the swamp, Misty communes with reanimated Kyle, listening to Fleetwood Mac. He seems stunned from being brought back to life. Zoe comes to see. Kyle stitches are gone, except for the one on his neck. Misty attributes it to the healing mud. Kyle's still not talking and doesn't seem to recognize Zoe, but then he reaches out and strokes her hair. Zoe wants to take Kyle home to his distraught mother. Misty tries to convince her to stay, saying she's the one who nursed Kyle back to health. But Zoe promises to come back.Misty tries one more time to get Zoe to stay, but she leaves. Misty doesn't expect to see her again. Nan and Madison bring a cake to their new neighbors, the Ramseys, including Luke the shirtless mover. Madison is wearing a skintight dress and comes on to Luke blatantly. Meanwhile, Nan brought a yellow cake with buttercream frosting -- Luke's favorite. Luke's mom Joan comes and tries to cool the temperature in the room. She says they're going to church and will take the cake to share. Madison scoffs, telling them religion is all a "crock of s---." Madison starts to cut the cake, but Joan reaches for the knife. They each grab for it until Madison uses her magic to fling it across the room. Joan throws the girls out of the house telling them never to come back. As they're leaving, Madison lights the drapes on fire. "I didn't know you could do that," Nan says."Neither did I until now," Madison says. Cordelia goes back to see the fertility doctor. Her husband Hank doesn't know she's there. The doctor tells her there's a problem with her blood work. At her doctor, Fiona gets similar news. Her immune system is in revolt. The doctor tells Cordelia she can't have a baby. "Times like these I wish I had a magic wand I could wave, but I don't," the doctor says. Zoe drives reanimated Kyle back in to town to see his mother. She thinks everything will make sense to Kyle when he sees his mother. Zoe helps a wobbly Kyle to his front porch and leaves him propped against the door. His mom screams and helps him in the house. Joan Ramsey pays a visit to Fiona, bringing her a Bible, as she does each time she visits someone's house for the first time. She tells Fiona that two of her girls "invaded" her space and one was dressed so scandalously, she's worried about the long term effects on her son. Fiona mocks her religious attitude and Joan warns her she'll call the cops and press charges next time, including arson. This catches Fiona's attention. Madison joins them, taunting Joan about how easy it'd be to get Luke in bed. When Joan leaves, Fiona asks Madison to light her cigarette, and she does from across the room. Fiona is interested in the girl. Back home, Kyle's mom comes to his room to check on him. She checked on him in the shower earlier and recognized that his body was different. And then it becomes clear why she knows her grown son's body so well, she starts making out with him and he's too weak to push her off as she touches him. Cordelia goes to see Marie Laveau about her fertility problem. Marie says the spell is no picnic for anyone involved. She describes the ritual, which involves dozens of people drumming and chanting around a fire. They need two ounces of sperm from her husband to go in a fire in a mason jar, Marie eats the hottest pepper there is to get the attention of the gods. Then a goat's throat is slit over Cordelia's naked body. The cost is $50,000 and they have to do it over a full moon, but they have a 100% success rate.Cordelia says she'll do anything to get the money. Marie busts out laughing. Cordelia is the daughter of her sworn enemy, she's not helping her for any amount of money. She mentions that Fiona came by to see her and "messed with the wrong witch." When Zoe comes home, Nan can tell she's thinking about Kyle and she likes him. Alisha calls, telling Zoe that Kyle has come home, but he's not the same. Fiona takes Madison to brunch and probes. Madison's mother had her working at a young age and wouldn't let her quit because she was the only one in the family making money. She once snorted half Madison's coke and then let the cops bust Madison with it. Fiona says she was a terrible mother to Cordelia. It's too late now, but it's a shame because she has so much to teach. "Teach me," Madison says. Fiona looks across the street and tells Madison to make a man disregard his own safety. A man walks into the middle of the street, oblivious to the cars screaming by. Madison isn't sure if she did it or Fiona did. Back at the school, Queenie directs Madame LaLaurie to make her dinner and dessert. Madame suggests Queenie won't find a man if she keeps eating like that. Madame hears a noise outside that startles her. She looks out the window and sees her minotaur. She screams and locks the door.Queenie doesn't believe her, but then sees him. Queenie asks who she is and recognizes the name from the tour when she says LaLaurie. She gives Queenie a brief recap and then begs her to let her go hide. Queenie slices LaLaurie's hand, dabs the blood with a towel and tells her to run. She heads out to face the minotaur with the towel, using the scent to lure it to Cordelia's green house. Once there, she drops her guard, talking to the minotaur like she understands him, knowing that all he wanted was love, just like her. She offers herself to him. He walks around behind her, caressing her, but the clamps a hand/hoof over her mouth. Alisha tells Kyle she invited Zoe for dinner. He sits on the floor, rocking back and forth, not saying anything as she talks to him. She acknowledges she's been possessive and never meant for it to go this far, but she thinks he needed it as much as she did. But now she thinks it's time he get on with his life. Then she asks him what happened and why is his body different. She starts rubbing on him until he manages to get out one word: "No!" He screams it over and over again as he grabs a trophy off the wall and brains her with it repeatedly. Fiona and Madison go to a bar and play pool, drinking as every man in the place stares at them. Fiona imagines when she was the pretty young thing everyone stared at. Zoe goes to Kyle's house and goes inside when she finds the door open. She finds Alisha with her face caved in and Kyle standing there spattered in blood. When they return to the house, Fiona tells Madison that she's the next Supreme. She can feel it, because she's dying. "My time is up, and you're killing me," Fiona says. Madison's powers have been growing stronger as Fiona has gotten weaker -- she has cancer. Fiona scoffs at the suggestion of chemo. "I've led a disreputable life, but I've done it in style and I'll die likewise," Fiona says. Fiona laments squandering her gifts on herself. "I was a s---y Supreme," she says. She says her mentor Anna Lee was "majestic and powerful" and taught her everything she knew. She tells Madison she thanked Anna Lee by cutting her throat, right where she's standing. She has the knife. She takes it out and gives it to Madison, telling her to use it. The two women start struggling over it, with Madison saying no and Fiona telling her to do it. Then suddenly Fiona drags it across Madison's throat, slitting it. Again, Spaulding watches. He hands Fiona a handkerchief as she tells him to bury Madison. Fiona assesses Madison bleeding out on the carpet. "This coven doesn't need a new Supreme, it needs a new rug," she says.
4Fearful Pranks Ensue
30 Oct 2013
Description ▼New Orleans 1961A young black boy bicycles through a neighborhood and notices a truck on his tail. He pulls into an alley and three white men get out and corner him. In her hair salon, Marie worries about a friend who sent her son to the integrated high school. The friend has faith in the future, but Marie isn't so sure.Cut to the woman retrieving her son's body from where it hangs dead from a tree. Marie conducts a ceremony using snake blood, fire, drumming and general voo doo magic. The white men congratulate themselves for killing Henry. Meanwhile, Marie's spell begins to take effect and the dead begin rising from their graves and approaching the racists. Their bullets won't stop the zombies, who rip the racists apart. Alone in his room, Spaulding the mute butler hosts a tea party for hundreds of dead eyed dolls. He pours them tea, enjoying his alone time. But he hears Fiona screaming at Madison and goes downstairs. As Spaulding wraps Madison up in the carpet, Fiona tells him it's her duty to stay vital, the coven can't afford a lousy supreme. "I've always enjoyed our little talks together, particularly since you lost your tongue," she tells him. They hear a crash from the greenhouse (where Queenie was offering herself to the minotaur). Queenie is on the ground bleeding with the minotaur nearby. Fiona wakes Cordelia up to help. Cordelia blames her mother, for provoking Marie. Fiona says she went there to show strength, and Cordelia going only showed Marie that her magic is stronger than theirs. Cordelia notices Queenie has stopped breathing. Fiona leans over her and breathes above her and Queenie gasps.Fiona tells her they'll handle everything internally from now, they don't want the Council showing up on their doorstep. Upstairs, Fiona finds Madame LaLaurie hiding from the minotaur. She can't believe Queenie saved her. Fiona knows the minotaur was coming for LaLaurie, but tells her not to say anything about it. A delivery comes to Marie Laveau's -- it's the minotaur's head in a box. Its eyes are still blinking. At Kyle's house, Zoe stops him from repeatedly banging his head against the toilet. She tries to clean him up. She apologizes to him, saying she didn't mean for any of it to happen. She goes to make him food. As she mixing tuna, she sees rat poison on the top shelf. When she brings the food back to him, he's gone. The streets are filled with trick or treaters for Halloween. Back at the house, LaLaurie thinks Halloween is the end of the harvest, when people put out food offerings lest "fearful pranks ensue." It's Fiona's favorite day of the year. She's going dressed as a witch. At Marie's hair salon, her friend Chantai tries to prevent her from reigniting a war with the witches. Decades ago, she signed a truce with the previous Supreme Anna Lee, dividing the town into territory for each group. Marie argues the truce is over and they have to fight back. Cordelia talks to Hank, who is in Baton Rogue for a job. He tells her he's about to meet with Phil Underwood, but it's a young woman named Caylee who knocks on his hotel room door. After some extremely enthusiastic sex, she tells him she loves Halloween, "it gives people permission to be who they want to be."Hank was a monster last year. Cordelia sits by Queenie's bedside. When she wakes up, LaLaurie tells her she doesn't know how to thank her for saving her life. The council arrives unannounced. As Cordelia hugs Myrtle Snow hello, she asks: "How screwed am I?" Myrtle whispers at her to breathe. The council assembles under only the gravest circumstances. Cordelia thinks they're there because of Queenie, but that's not it. Cordelia apologizes for going to see Marie, but that's not why they're there either. Finally, Fiona waltzing in and saves Cordelia from herself. She greets Quentin as a "vicious old queen," and reminds him it was her magic that put him on the best seller list. She is cool and dismissive to the third, Pember. Myrtle explains they were summoned by one of the students -- Nan. Nan explains she can't hear Madison anymore and thinks she's dead. That's why they're there. Myrtle begins the inquest on the disappearance of Madison. The punishment for harming a Salem descendant is death by fire. Myrtle asks if Madison seemed particularly powerful.Cordelia notices her rug is missing. Nan tells them about her setting the neighbor's curtains on fire. Caylee prepares a vending machine lunch of soup and burritos for Hank. He's a USDA inspector. She asks if he has a girlfriend in every city. They met in an online group dedicated to collecting Thomas Kincaid paintings. "I really like you," she says."Is that a problem?" he asks."It is if you're going to break my heart," she says. He coolly takes out a gun and shoots her through the head. Back at the Academy, the council gives Fiona a hard time for how she's run things, or rather hasn't. Myrtle asks why Fiona came back. She reminds Fiona this is the second time a witch has gone missing from the house and both times Fiona was the last to see her alive. New Orleans 1971The council conducts an inquest into Anna Lee's disappearance. A tearful young Fiona says Anna Lee took a bottle of wine as a peace offering, implying that Marie Laveau was involved. The council announces that Fiona is the new Supreme-elect. Young Myrtle can't believe that Fiona is getting away with murder. Later that night, Myrtle casts a spell to compel the truth. At dinner that night, Myrtle tells one of the girls that she thinks if Fiona did do something, Spaulding knows about it and she compelled his tongue so he can't tell a lie. The council has called him for a closed session tomorrow. Later that night, the house is roused by screams from the bathroom, where Spaulding lies on the floor with his tongue cut out. Fiona shoots Myrtle a dirty look. Back in the present, Myrtle tells Fiona she won't keep getting away with things. She calls Spaulding to testify. Myrtle tells him justice is near, all he has to do is write the name of the witch who cut off his tongue. He glances at Fiona then writes. He hands the note to Myrtle, it bears her name. Back in 1971, Spaulding hears Myrtle explain the spell she cast on his tongue. Later that night he takes out a straight razor in the bathroom. Fiona comes to see him, summoned by his note."These are my last words," he tells her. "I have always loved you." He picks up the razor and slices his own tongue off. Back in the present, Myrtle looks at her name on his pieces of paper and screams over Fiona getting away with it again. Cordelia comes to her mother's defense. She says Madison wasn't the next Supreme. "The hallmark of any Supreme is glowing, radiant health. Madison had a heart murmur," she explains.(We see Madison checking her vitals.) "I'm sorry Myrtle. For 40 years you've been barking up the wrong tree -- my mother is the Supreme for a reason," she says. Marie performs another spell, using an even bigger snake and more dead rise from their graves. In the house, Nan is sure Madison is dead. Zoe wants to go look for her, but Fiona told them to stay inside. Back in his creepy room, Spaulding puts on a pretty nightie and bonnet then gets a frilly old lace nightgown which he brings to put on Madison's dead body, which he has propped up in the corner. Fiona takes her daughter out and buys her a whiskey. Cordelia suggests they eat ask each other three questions and swear to answer honestly. "Why do you hate Hank?""Because, Delia, he reeks of bull---- and I don't see how you cannot see that," Fiona says.Next, Fiona says she did not kill Madison. Fiona asks her who she thinks the next Supreme is. Cordelia asks if she feels her powers weakening. Cut to Cordelia throwing up in the bathroom. A hooded figure comes out and tosses a liquid in her face -- burning her. Back at the house, Luke Ramsay brings Nan cookies to pay her back for the cake she brought over. There's a pounding at the door. Madame LaLaurie opens the door to three really good zombie costumes -- actually the dead bodies of her three daughters. Outside the house, more dead approach.
5Burn, Witch. Burn!
06 Nov 2013
Description ▼New Orleans, 1833Madame LaLaurie welcomes the governor and his wife to an All Hallow's Eve ball. She introduces her daughter Borquita to their son and asks if Jacques is brave enough to visit her "chamber of horrors." She has him stick his hand in covered bowls. The first he guesses is peeled grapes -- but it's actually eyeballs, plucked from her slaves. Likewise for the bowl of intestines, which is actually a bowl of intestines. Borquita watches, crestfallen, as her potential suitor runs away from her mother in horror. She conferences with her sisters, suggesting they'll never be married with their mother around. They're about to discuss what to do about it when Madame LaLaurie interrupts. She summons them downstairs then tells her husband Louis to send Bastian (the eventual minotaur) and two strong slaves. She has her daughters dragged out of their beds at night and taken to her torture chamber and locked up. She tells them if they're good, she might let them out in a year. Flash to the present, Madam LaLaurie opens the door to her zombie daughters. Back in the bar, Fiona hears Cordelia from the bathroom where someone has just thrown acid in her face. Fiona screams, calling for an ambulance. In the hospital waiting room, the doctor tells Fiona that it seems like sulfuric acid and they couldn't save Cordelia's eyesight. Back at the house, from inside they watch the zombies approach. Nan is sure they're dead -- she can't hear them. Zoe goes into shutdown mode, telling everyone to shut off the lights and close the drapes. Luke thinks they're over-reacting to a bunch of neighborhood kids. He goes outside to shoo them away, but they just stand there. In her spell trace, Marie Leveau levitates off the ground. When she says begin, the zombies start attacking.Nan wants to go help Luke, but Zoe pulls her inside. Zoe gathers everyone and tells them to head for the attic, though Spaulding doesn't want them in his room. Nan goes outside to get Luke and drags him to safety in a car. In the hospital, Cordelia's face is badly scarred. She sleeps while Fiona goes looking for pills to pop. She raids the pharmacy and washes them down with booze. The hospital is a depressing, dingy place. Fiona thinks she sees the hooded figure who scarred Cordelia, and a man in a diaper whispers to her that she might as well have thrown the acid herself. Fiona stumbles into a room where a woman has just given birth to a stillborn baby, which is still in the room. Fiona brings the dead infant to the woman, telling her to hold her and talk to her. She tells the woman what to say to her, including that she's beautiful and she loves her and she'll be her mother until she dies. Fiona brushes her hand over her and the baby starts breathing. The zombies break into the car where Nan and Luke have taken refuge. They're through the windows and swarming when Zoe gets their attention by banging pots and pans. She goes to hide in a nearby crypt. LaLaurie gets Queenie settled back in bed, then goes downstairs for ice. She grabs a knife when she hears a noise in the kitchen. She sees the zombie of her daughter Borquita. LaLaurie opens the door to talk to her, telling her she wants to make amends. Her zombie daughter grabs her around the neck and lifts her off the ground. The zombies pound on the crypt door where Zoe is hiding. She runs deeper inside until she finds something. Queenie sends Spaulding to find LaLaurie, but he meets a zombie with a candlestick in the hallway.Queenie tries to voodoo the zombie by hurting herself, but nothing works. Suddenly, LaLaurie fells her with a poker through her back. "She had a monster for a mother. This last act is the only kindness I did for her," LaLaurie says of her dead again zombie daughter. In the car, Luke worries he's bleeding out. Nan tries to drag him to the house, but the zombies gain ground. They're catching up, when there's a whirring of an engine and Nan comes up wielding a chainsaw. She mows her way through them until the chainsaw stops working. One advances on her as she's on the ground and it's about to get her when she raises her hand and casts a spell and the zombie drops. Back at her place, Marie Laveau comes crashing to the ground, saying they've got serious power at the witch house. Hank finally makes it to Cordelia's bedside from his "job" out of town. He and Fiona start in on each other. When a nurse threatens to calls security, Fiona leaves to give him 15 minutes with Cordelia before she throws him out. Hank kneels by Cordelia's bedside and promises her he'll never leave. He takes her hand, and she wakes up and sees him having sex with the other woman in his hotel room. Back at the house, they pile the zombie bodies in the back and burn them. Luke is resting in Nan's bed. "I like a witch who knows how to fight. You've done this coven a great service, Zoe. I won't forget it," Fiona tells her. LaLaurie comes out to watch her dead daughters burn."They deserved a better mother than I could ever be," LaLaurie says."I know the feeling," say Fiona. "Perhaps our shared tragedy will bring us closer together," LaLaurie says."I doubt it. You are, after all, the maid." The council returns and reviews Fiona's transgressions. They order that Fiona abdicate her Supremacy. The council will rule until the new Supreme reveals herself. Fiona refuses, then accuses Myrtle of the acid attack on Cordelia. Fiona sees Myrtle under the black hood in the hospital under woozy flashback. Then she accuses Myrtle of killing Madison saying she was in town when it happened, which is news to the council. Flash to Fiona and Spaulding tracking down Myrtle under an alias in a hotel and finding pictures of Fiona taped up all over the walls with pentagrams drawn on them. Fiona shows the council the photos. Myrtle objects that Fiona has to be stopped and they think that sounds like a confession. Fiona pulls off Myrtle's gloves to reveal her acid-burned hands. The council votes to "burn the witch." Myrtle says she won't resist. The coven and the council, dressed all in black, walk out to a quarry where Myrtle, dressed all in white, is roped to a stake.Zoe thinks it must be a joke, they're not really going to burn her."You don't mess with a Supreme," Queenie says. Myrtle is doused in gasoline and Fiona asks for her last words. "You're all a bunch of little toads that Fiona is slowly bringing to a boil. You won't even feel it until it's too late. I'd rather burn than boil," Myrtle says. Fiona flicks her cigarette at Myrtle and ignites her. Zoe watches with horror as Myrtle goes up in flames. Back at the house, Queenie asks Fiona a question: "Today, did I help you frame a guilty woman or an innocent one?" Flash back to Queenie standing around the corner as Fiona presents the case against Myrtle to the council. At the key moment, Queenie dips her hand in a glass of acid, which appears on Myrtle. "None of us are innocent," Fiona tells Queenie. Queenie thought they were going to oust Myrtle, not roast her. She can't get the smell out of her nose. Queenie isn't sure she can live with it. But Fiona butters her up, telling her she can teach her and help Queenie build her powers, maybe even to become the next Supreme. Up in his creepy attic, Spauling prances around in his nightie and dress boots and douses the room with air freshener to mask the smell of the rotting Madison in his trunk. He tries to pull her out, but comes away with just her arm instead. Misty Day finds Myrtle's charred corpse in the rock quarry. She takes Myrtle's head in her hands and uses her powers. Myrtle's eyes open.

She holds a lighter to her hand to her flesh and lets it singe, feeling nothing. She eats everything in the fridge because she can, feeling nothing. "I need to do something, I'm going bat----," she says. Zoe talks to Kyle, trying to explain why she has to shoot him, including that he killed his mother. He gets the gun away from her and sticks it in his own mouth, but she grabs it away as he fires."I don't want you to die," she says, hugging him. Late at night, Queenie goes on a fridge raid but finds nothing. Madame LaLaurie is disappointed, she was feeling a bit pekish as well. They go for drive through. They inhale cheeseburgers, and LaLaurie thinks it's the best food she's ever tasted."I'm beginning to understand why you're so enormous," she says, innocently, to Queenie. She isn't trying to be rude, she's baffled by this century."You think I'm any less perplexed? I dragged my ass all the way here from Detroit to be with my 'sister witches' and instead, I'm sitting in a fast food parking lot at 3 in the morning with an immortal racist. How'd that happen?" Queenie says.LaLaurie doesn't think they'll ever see her as a sister, because she's black. Hank calls Cordelia in the middle of the night, asking to come home. She tells him to go to bed. He's drinking alone, surrounded by an arsenal. Cordelia gets up from bed, in the middle of the night, calling for LaLaurie. Madison hides, but when Cordelia is about to fall down the stairs, she stops her. Cordelia grabs her and, with her new gift of second sight, sees her own mother slitting Madison's throat. The Axeman brings Fiona home, a small cluttered apartment. He puts on jazz and quotes her Faulkner. She ignores the cockroach in the bathroom, but is unsettled by the clump of her hair that comes out. She doesn't notice the dead man in the bathtub. (An older version of the young piano player whose photo is on the wall.) He starts to kiss her, but she bails when her hair falls out. "I'm a wretched human being, a miserable g--damned bitch, I always have been," she says. She's halfway out the door, when he gives her a line about the transformative power of love, or at least sex. He plays her body like the keys of his saxophone, sweet talking her. She gives in. The lights all blow out, one by one. Back at the Academy, Zoe chains Kyle up and tries to teach him how to communicate, showing him flashcards with single words on them. He gets frustrated trying to feed himself and flings his food across the room. Madison saunters in, telling Zoe that Cordelia wants to talk to her. Madison asks him about death. She just had cold and darkness, but somehow it feels more empty here. She's been wondering if it was worth coming back. He slowly inches in to hug her. Queenie goes to see Marie Laveau, who tells her the white witches will never welcome her. She invites Queenie to come live with her, if Queenie brings her LaLaurie. "You mix your witch with our voodoo, and even a Supreme won't be able to touch you," Laveau says. Queenie worries what Marie would do to LaLaurie. Cordelia tells Zoe that the fact she was unable to release the Axeman means Zoe has power, which is bound to draw the attention of their biggest enemy: Fiona. She warns Zoe that Fiona will try to kill her if she thinks she's the next Supreme, like she did to Madison to try to absorb her power. "So what do we do?" Zoe asks."It's simple, we're going to kill my mother. Kill her once, kill her good. Kill her dead," Cordelia says. When Zoe goes back to her room, she finds Kyle and Madison having sex. In the morning with the Axeman, Fiona gets dressed to leave. She casually mentions that the dead body in his bathtub is going to start smelling soon. He references how she understands such things, even though she always had someone clean up after her. He knows her from years of observing her, since she was eight years old. Flash back to the Academy, and older witch, Helen, taunting eight-year-old Fiona at the breakfast table to make her dump milk on herself. Instead, Fiona flings it at Helen, who then knocks her out of her chair. When Helen walks away, a bookcase falls on her. Back with the Axeman, "That was you?" Fiona asks."That bully had it coming," he says. At first he thought of her as the daughter he never had, but he watched her grow into "the most fearsome thing that ever lived."He says he fell in love with her, not like a father, but like a man. "I don't believe in ghosts," she says. He says he just wants to comfort her, she's lived through so much. She gets angry, asking if it was a "mercy lay" and telling him to haunt someone else. Spaulding wakes up tied to his bed. Zoe asks him how he feels, and he replies. His tongue is back in his mouth. Flash back to Zoe finding it wet and slimy in a box in the back of the closet, enchanted. Myrtle kept it, but she wasn't witch enough to restore it. But Zoe is. Zoe interrogates him, knowing he can't lie. She asks who killed Madison. He fights it, but finally says Fiona. His family has served the coven for 10 generations."Not anymore, you're done talking," Zoe says as she takes out a knife and stabs him in the chest. Late at night, Queenie asks Delphine about the worst thing she ever did. Flash back to Delphine and her husband being waited upon by Sally, a young slave. Delphine knows Sally recently gave birth. We see Monsieur LaLaurie grabbing her butt. Later at night, Delphine applies her blood-based beauty treatment and tells Sally it came from a young baby. She admits to Queenie that she killed the baby. Sally killed herself the next morning. She tells Queenie she's learning about the different time and world. "I'm grateful to have someone, a true friend to guide me," Delphine says. Back home, Fiona gets angry as her hair continuing to fall out and takes out clippers. But she stops. Zoe washes Spaulding's blood off in the shower. Madison asks Zoe if she minds she slept with Kyle. Madison thinks Zoe won't be able to hurt him because he's already dead, but she's not ready to give him up herself -- being with him is the first time since coming back that she felt anything. Madison leads Zoe to the bedroom, where Kyle is waiting. Zoe joins the two of them in bed. The Axeman finishes his set at a club and finds Fiona waiting for him. Queenie takes Delphine to Marie Laveau's, ostensibly to get her hair done. Delphine is stunned by Queenie's betrayal. She locks Delphine in a cage and hands Queenie a knife to make the first cuts. Later, Marie applies her special blood-based beauty treatment.

Description ▼Queenie walks under a bridge at night in the bad part of town, when a man approaches her, threatening her. She picks up a board with nails in it and drive it into her own hand, making him bleed, then whacks him with it for good measure. Madison and Zoe find her. Queenie says Marie Laveau set her straight about them not being her true friends and shes doing voodoo now. Boo friggin hoo. You switched teams because girls were mean to you? Fiona slit my throat, you dont see me bitching out, Madison taunts. Zoe tells her things are changing and a new supreme is rising. But Queenie is unmoved. She takes out a long dagger and dives it into the chest of the man she just knocked out. Zoe and Madison are horrified, as Queenie digs around in his chest and pulls out the still-beating heart. Queenie explains the man raped at least three school girls and Marie needs a dark heart. Shes doing a spell to make Queenies powers stronger. Shes chosen her side.War is coming, and youre gonna lose, she says. In her room at the Academy, Fiona writhes in pain from the cancer that has now invaded her spine. She spends a lazy afternoon in bed with the Axeman, who asks her to run away with him. But she doesnt want him watching her die. She wouldnt consider suicide, though. She wants to stay alive just to spite them. She thinks her cancer is advancing so rapidly because one of the girls is coming into her Supreme powers, she just has to figure out which one it is. Lukes mother chews him out for going over to the Academy, saying the girls are using devils magic. He insists that they saved him, but she wants him to repent. She says hes unclean from the inside out. She mixes up an enema and forces him to strip. Across the street at the Academy, Nan can hear that hes in pain, but Cordelia wants her attention. Theyre planning their move, which involves Madison staying hidden from Cordelia. The doorbell rings insistently. Cordelia wonders where Spaulding and Delphine (Madame LaLaurie) have gone. Zoe answers the insistent knocking, its Misty, freaking out. She tells Zoe shes been hiding in the woods with her Stevie, but shes been found. Flash back to Mistys cabin, shes woken in the middle of the night by a re-animated Myrtle, still covered in her healing mud. But thats not what scared her, its the man with a shotgun who blasted through her door right after she hid. Zoe tells Cordelia that Misty is a fellow witch who needs protection. Cordelia takes her hand and sees her burning at the stake and immediately knows shes Misty Day.Cordelia promises her shes under the protection of the coven now.Misty asks if her friend can stay. The witches follow her to the greenhouse, where Myrtle is almost back to normal, with some scarring (frizzy wig in place). She points out that resurrection is the most difficult of the Seven Wonders and Misty has already proven capable of it, she believes shes the next Supreme. Upstairs, Zoe gives Kyle a childrens website to help him learn to talk. Madison joins them and kisses him, theyre sharing him now. Downstairs, the coven gets ready for a ritual known as The Sacred Taking. They don red robes and black lace veils. Zoe isnt sure Misty is the Supreme, which causes Madison to taunt her for thinking it was her. Madison says shes sure it isnt Nan.Cordelia tells them being a Supreme isnt a gift, its a burden. Misty doesnt want to be the Supreme, but she doesnt get to choose. Whoever it is will be it after Fiona dies. Cordelia explains the Sacred Taking ritual is invoked to protect the coven, and has been used three times before, once during the Salem witch trials. In it a Supreme takes her own life to ensure the safety of the coven, hurrying the transition to the next supreme.Madison doesnt think Fiona will kill herself. Not without a push, Cordelia says. Up in her room, Fiona heaves into the toilet. The clock turns to midnight and Season of the Witch starts playing. Fiona comes into her room to see Madison dancing around, claiming the room for herself. She tells Fiona shes the next Supreme and brought herself back. Madison tells Fiona it means theyll burn her at the stake as punishment, or she can swallow the handful of pills Madison gives her. Madison leaves and Fiona starts packing. Then Mrytle drops by and tells Fiona that Madison resurrected her. Fiona tells her shes not ready, shes found someone she truly loves who wants to take care of her. Myrtle tells her shell end up abandoned. Myrtle shows Fiona a scene of her wasting away in hospital bed and the Axeman complaining about the smells and that Fiona is taking too long to die. Back in the hallway, Madison reports that it went well Fiona thinks Madison is the next Supreme. Nan wants to know why they think it couldnt be her. Because, you have no style and your pits smell like fish sticks, Madison says.Zoe doesnt answer when Nan asks if she thinks it could be her.Nan gets up and storms out. Waiting in his car outside, Hank sees her go across the street into Lukes house. She hears screams and opens a door. She finds Luke bound and gagged in the closet. Up in her room, Fiona has her hair wrapped up and is putting on make-up. Myrtle holds a mirror for Fiona as she prepares to die. She asks Myrtle to get her fur from the closet as she reminisces about a great love affair and living her life selfishly. Fiona puts on her coat, talking about not staying too long at the party. She asks Myrtle to look after Cordelia, her most terrible failure.Fiona downs a handful of pills and tells Myrtle to hang her portrait in the spot she chose, not in the basement with the disgraced Russian witch. Fiona gathers herself and lies down in bed. Myrtle helps herself to Fionas jewelry and walks out. Fiona wakes up when she hears a voice calling to her. Its Spaulding. He wants to give her something to purge the pills. She notices hes able to speak. He explains that he was murdered. Those idiot girls thought they could silence me, but theyve only given me voice here in the spirit world. Three-hundred years my family has been a clan of watchers and now I see everything, he says.He tries to get her to take the ipecac. She says shes trying to do something noble and decent for the coven.Horse----. Youre making a martyr of yourself by giving up, he says, saying shes been tricked by lesser witches. He tells her Madison isnt the next Supreme, she brought back by some dirty little swamp witch. He feeds her ipecac. She throws up her pills in the bathroom.Oh, Spaulding. Youve always been my silent sentinel, and I will avenge your murder. Right after I avenge my own, Fiona says. Back at Marie Leveaus, Queenie brings Delphine La Laurie her favorite fast food. Marie has been bleeding Delphine to make her potions and keeping her locked in a cage. Delphine asks Queenie what she did to deserve her betrayal. She asks Queenie to let her out, but Marie interrupts them. Marie lords over her captive, but Delphine scoffs at her, pointing out she cant die. With Queenie gone, she turns ugly and laments the darkie in the White House. Marie goes for a large sword and tells Delphine she suffers from lack of imagination. Delphine sticks her hand out of the cage for a moment and Marie grabs it and hacks it off, warning Delphine shes just getting started. At the Ramseys, Nan and Luke head for the door. She kisses him on the cheek. Then they run into his mother, calling 911 to report and armed intruder. Luke tells her theyre leaving and she cant stop them. Shes in the middle of threatening him when a rifle sight appears on Mrs. Ramsey and shes hit twice. More bullets come through the windows and Luke dives in front of them to protect Nan and is hit. Back at the Academy, downstairs they wait for Fiona to die and Misty to feel something. Fiona comes down, definitely not dead. She asks where the swamp witch is. Misty is across the street as paramedics are taking Luke to the ambulance. Fiona joins her and gets the rundown by spelling a cop. He tells them Luke has a grievous head wound and the mother is dead.Fiona challenges Misty to bring Joan Ramsey back. Cordelia steps outside and looks around the Ramseys house. She finds a bullet and sees its trajectory and knows it was meant for witches. Inside, Misty brings Joan Ramsey back, and slumps to the ground. Kyle is playing with his childrens program when Zoe comes upstairs, upset. She tells him theyre under attack and wants to get him out of there. He tells her he loves her. Madison hears them and cries. In the morning, Cordelia faces Fiona, waiting for her to lash out. Fiona says they demonstrated real grit, and she finally has hope for the future of the coven. She tells Cordelia shes proud of her. Fiona sees the blessed silver bullet Cordelia found, it means witch hunters. Cordelia tells Fiona they need her now, more than ever. The doorbell rings and Fiona wonders again where the servants are. She sees a cardboard box on the porch and, after scanning it with magic, takes it inside. She opens it. Delphine La Lauries head stares back at her and whispers help.

Description ▼Chattahoochee National Forest, 1991 A father takes his young son on their first hunting trip and reassures him he lost his lunch on his first trip. They begin tracking their prey. The father circles around to track "her" out. The young boy steadies his rifle with the high-powered sight. The man brings a crying woman out. As she begs for her life, the father urges his son to "put her down." The boy hesitates and the woman spews fire at him. The dad rushes out and shoves the boy to safety, getting burned in the process, then shoots the witch. "Never forget what they are," he tells his son. Fiona brings Delphine LaLaurie's head back to Marie Laveau, suggesting they talk. Fiona's looking for an alliance between Laveau's tribe and her coven. Fiona shows her the witch hunter's bullet, but Marie isn't concerned by them, saying they're only after witches. She sees Fiona's hair and identifies it as a wig then guesses about her cancer. She calls Queenie in to dispose of Delphine's head. Back at the Academy, Cordelia tries to make breakfast, but makes a mess of the eggs. ("Could people please not move things? Some of us are blind!") Myrtle watches. She wants to be sure that Cordelia doesn't think she had anything to do with blinding her. Myrtle urges her to use her second sight to confirm it, but Cordelia already is convinced she had nothing to do with it. Atlanta, Georgia, Delphi Trust Hank meets with David, a big wig with The Corporation of witch hunters. Hank hoped to be second in command, but David got it, even though Hank's father is the boss. Hank meets with his father (the man from the opening), who tells him outright they're disappointed with his progress in New Orleans. His dad is displeased he forged an alliance with Marie Laveau. He reminds Hank he's just supposed to gather intelligence. Hank argues he can do more, thinking of the witch that he killed in Baton Rogue. His father knows all about it. Hank used a Company credit card, so David had to clean up Hank's mess and an innocent desk clerk and maid died. David piles on, admonishing Hank for his recklessness. The Corporation is also a major financial institution and they don't want to draw the government's attention. Hank's father tells him the Corporation authorized the acid attack on Cordelia so she would need Hank more. He reminds Hank not to have feelings for her because some day she will have to be put down. Myrtle hosts a sophisticated lunch for Pembe and Quentin, the other members of the Council, including a palette-cleanser of melon balls. They feel just dreadful about the "misunderstanding" of burning her at the stake. They ask about Misty, who Myrtle says embodies "power, compassion and uniqueness." Pembe raises a glass to toast Myrtle's f-f-f... she's trying to say "forgiveness," but her tongue is paralyzed. Myrtle admits forgiveness would have been the high road, instead she poisoned them with a paralytic. She tells Quentin he's a fool and a drunk, and Pembe is even worse. She explains she's doing this for the coven. She turns to the palette cleanser and guesses they thought she was being forgetful by leaving the melon baller in the serving dish. Then she scoops out one of Pembe's eyes, and turns to Quentin. Cut to Cordelia waking up with one brown eye and one blue. She can see. Fiona comes home as Cordelia is suggesting to Myrtle she could have asked her permission first. Fiona sees what she's done, something outside of Myrtle's previous powers. Myrtle says she found a few answers in the flames. "The generous donors wish to remain anonymous," Myrtle says, over a flashback of her gleefully hacking up limbs and dropping them in acid. Myrtle and Fiona hurl accusations at each other over their crimes until Cordelia has had enough. She tells them to behave. She hugs Myrtle and realizes her visions are gone. Zoe and Madison find Nan at the hospital waiting outside Luke's room. Joan won't let her in, but they barge in. Nan translates Luke's thoughts to his mother, telling her he likes a song she sang to him when he was eight. Joan sings and hugs Nan. In her room, Queenie has set Delphine's severed head on a table in front of the TV. She comes bearing DVDs. "Time for some sensitivity training," Queenie says. "What fresh hell is this?" "'Roots' the saga of an American family. You are going to watch all eight hours of it, followed by the sequel," Queenie says. Then Mandingo and her personal favorite, BAPS. Delphine just wants to die, but Queenie is determined to educate her first. She presses play on Roots. Delphine starts singing Dixie to block out the "jungle music." Hank is alone in his hotel room, eating Chinese food when suddenly his wrist splits open. He's flipped over and bones break. A man comes in and tells him Marie sends her regards. She voodoo doll stabs him from afar, then calls to tell him that if the witches don't die tonight, he does. In her greenhouse, Cordelia mixes up a magic paste, telling Misty to use it only in case of emergency. Misty tries the incantation and the dead plant they're testing it on comes back to life and flowers. Cordelia wants to make sure there's enough for the whole coven. When Misty leaves, Hank comes in. Hank hugs her."Let go of me," she says.He tells her he's living in a hell of regret. Misty joins them, he recognizes her from her cabin, where he tried to kill her (but he was hooded so she didn't see his face). Cordelia tells him to get his stuff from the closet and get out. He runs into their new guard dog in the hall, followed by Fiona. She rubs it in and follows the guard dog to Zoe's door, where the dog is scratching. Fiona opens the door and sees Kyle inside. He pets the dog as Fiona tells him he has to leave. Then there's a snap of bones. In the hospital, Joan Ramsey is grateful to Nan for communicating with Luke. Then Nan tells her there is a god, and he's judging her for what happened to Luke's father. Joan is surprised, saying he died of anaphylactic shock. Luke says God has shown him the truth. Flash back to Luke's father on the phone in his car, telling Joan he's leaving her. Then he notices a bee, then another. Joan crouches outside the car nearby. Luke explains, via Nan, that Joan put the bees in the car and locked it, knowing he was allergic. She caught him with a friend of hers. Luke says God says she'll pay. Joan is less excited about Nan's gift and throws her out. Hank arms himself and wipes away tears. Zoe, Madison and Nan come home from the hospital and find Fiona drinking, smoking and playing cards with Kyle, who is able to communicate. She says she spruced him up, because they need a guard dog who will attack on command. Queenie comes back to her room, where Delphine proudly boasts she kept her eyes shut through the black movie marathon.Queenie puts on singing from the march in Selma, Alabama, still determined to teach Delphine something. "You're one stubborn old lady head," Queenie says, leaving her. Queenie goes to the salon to work, sitting at the reception desk. Hank busts in, guns blazing, and starts shooting. He hits Queenie and several other voo doo women as Delphine listens to "Freedom." Badly wounded, Queenie pulls herself to a gun as Hank catches up with Marie and points a gun at her. Queenie sticks the gun in her mouth and pulls the trigger, killing herself and Hank, before he can hurt Marie. Upstairs, Delphine sobs over Selma. Back at the Corporation, Hank's father cries. At the hospital, Luke wakes up from his coma. "You murdered dad," is the first thing he says to his mother. She tells him to go back to sleep, then puts a pillow over his face. At the Academy, Fiona goes to answer a late knock on the door. It's Marie. Without a word, Fiona lets her in.
10The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks
08 Jan 2014
Description ▼Inside the Academy, Fiona offers Marie Laveau a drink and gently offers to cast a spell to help her sleep. Marie is reeling from Hank's slaughter at her salon. She tells Fiona it's not the death that bothers her -- she's over 300 years old and has seen many people go before -- it's Fiona's kindness that has "touched her soul." "I feel like I've been alone for so long, it's a relief to find an equal. Even if that person comes in the guise of an enemy. We have no much to talk about," Marie says. But first she tries to get some sleep. Marie is awoken in the middle of the night by a voodoo king (Lance Reddick), who refers to himself as her "master" and references that "once a year you must pay my price, it's the bargain you made so long ago." Marie goes to a hospital nursery in the middle of the night. She picks up a baby and walks out, tripping an alarm. When two security guards arrive, she uses voodoo to make them shoot each other. She has no sympathy for the baby, telling it: "Shut up, I'll give you something to cry about." Back at the Academy in the morning, Cordelia blames herself for Hank's shooting spree, since she told him she was filing for divorce. Then Marie tells her who Hank really was, and that she hired him, but he was too soft to kill Cordelia. Fiona flies into a rage and strikes her daughter."You aren't just blind, you're willfully blind. You married Hank to prove some childlish point and brought a viper into this house!" Fiona tells Marie that witch hunters never act alone, and they need to find the boss. Fiona drops in on Misty, who is wary. She warns Fiona she's already made plans to bring herself back if Fiona kills her. Fiona tells Misty she's the only one whose powers are worth a damn, and she can have anything she wants. Fiona tells Misty a friend who's a white witch wants to meet her. Down in the living room, Fiona introduces her to Stevie Nicks, her idol. Misty faints dead away. Zoe, Madison, and Nan come back to the house to hear Stevie playing piano and singing "Rhiannon." The witches take it in. Fiona tells Madison she's not the next Supreme, Misty is. Stevie delights Misty by showing her how to twirl her shawl. Stevie wishes her luck with the Seven Wonders. The other girls go upstairs as Madison pouts over Misty usurping the spotlight. Nan announces she could be the Supreme, and she's now able to do mind control. She demonstrates by almost making Madison stick a cigarette somewhere a cigarette ought never to go. Madison announces the heart murmur that prevented her from being Supreme went away when she died and came back. She suggests they schedule the Seven Wonders, her versus Misty. Later, Cordelia presents Fiona and Marie information on Harrison Renard with Delphi Trust, one of the richest men in the world. Delphi is a multi-billion dollar asset management company, the Corporation of witch hunters. Fiona suggests they go after their money. Later, Fiona and Marie lay out a maze, surrounded by stacks of cash, with mouse traps inside. Cordelia wants to help, but Fiona rages at her.:"You're worthless, hopeless, get out of my sight!" Fiona places white mice in the maze and recites a spell. FBI agents arrive at Delphi's headquarters and begin taking things away. One of the mice hits a trap and dies. Fiona's knees buckle. She tells Marie she's alright, but she collapses. Nan and Zoe go to the hospital to see Luke and learn he's dead. Marie tends to Fiona as she rests in bed. Marie explains that her cancer is growing as the new Supreme is emerging. Fiona wants to know Marie's secret to eternal life. Marie sold her soul without knowing the price. She had a child and Papa came for his payment -- her baby. She tells Fiona if she wants Papa to come bad enough, he will. Misty and Madison walk in a second line funeral procession. Madison warns Misty that Stevie and Fiona are just trying to earn points with her. "Are you saying Stevie was working me?" Misty asks. "'Players only love you when they're playing,'" Madison says, quoting Stevie. Madison dares Misty to prove she's not stupid. They head to the cemetery. Misty enchants two workers to leave a casket they're about to inter. Madison brings its occupant back to life and he wanders around in a daze. Madison suggests Misty lose the Stevie shawl and stop being an imitation of another witch. Misty stands over the casket, contemplating dropping it in. Then Madison clocks her over the head with a brick and shoves her in the casket. She commands the men to inter the casket, takes the shawl, and goes about her day. Nan and Zoe visit Joan Ramsey to find out where Luke's body is so Misty can bring him back to life. When they get there, Joan shows them his ashes. Then Nan hears Joan's thoughts, seeing that she killed Luke with the pillow. Nan uses her powers to immobilize Joan, and then Zoe when she tries to stop her. She makes Joan take out bleach, telling her she has to be cleansed. She forces Joan to drink. In her green house, Cordelia looks to Myrtle to make her feel better now. Myrtle suggests she could be a hostess on a cruise ship. "You've got a lovely personality and you're always well-groomed," she says. Myrtle's dulcet reassurances do nothing to calm Cordelia, who screams and smashes up her beakers. At Delphi, they've lost 50% of their value in just 10 minutes and trading of their stock has been suspended. Harrison knows witches are behind it. Fiona cuts up lines of cocaine on a mirror, reciting a spell. Papa Legba arrives and takes her offering. She wants eternal life. He asks if she'd be willing to cripple her daughter, or take the life of an innocent, someone she loves. She agrees. He kisses her to seal the deal, but then tells her it's off."You have nothing to sell, you have no soul," he says and leaves. Her lover the Axeman appears, and reassures her that all they have to do is find the young girl who's taking her down. "Haven't you heard? I have no soul. I'll just kill them all," Fiona says. Later, in the daylight. Nan hears something and goes to investigate. She finds the baby Marie stole in her closet. Nan tells Marie she's the next Supreme, and just killed the neighbor lady. Fiona arrives and tells Nan to hand the baby over.Marie tells Fiona that ever year Papa's demands get worse, but he needs the soul of an innocent. Fiona suggests they can kill two birds with one stone. Cut to Fiona and Marie drowning Nan in a bathtub. Papa arrives and says no substitutions. Fiona argues that Nan is innocent - mostly. "She killed the neighbor lady, but the bitch had it coming," she says. "You two together make trouble," Papa says, as he welcomes Nan's spirit to the other side. "Anywhere is better than here," Nan says, then goes with him. Later at the end of the day, Stevie sings "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" for Fiona.
11Protect the Coven
15 Jan 2014
Description ▼New Orleans, 1830 Madame La Laurie complains to her daughter about having to return from Paris, moaning about a lack of stimulation in New Orleans. She's seeking something to keep her interested.Later, with the cooks not arriving until tomorrow, La Laurie cuts the head off a chicken herself. She enjoys feeling the blood pulse out of it as it dies. Later, she responds to a slaves cries for help in the attic. He's fallen and cut open his leg and it's bleeding badly. She enjoys seeing the blood gush from his leg even more than she enjoyed the chicken. Instead of getting him a doctor, or helping him, she smothers him, strings him up and begins her torture."I think I'm gonna like it here," she says, relishing the blood. The remaining members of the coven, along with Kyle and Marie Laveau, say good-bye to Nan in the cemetery. She "fell in the tub" (Fiona and Laveau drowned her). Someone laments that Misty Day isn't there to bring Nan back (because Madison buried her alive in a tomb). They see a car pull up. It's Queenie, alive and unharmed, and she has Madame La Laurie on a leash -- put back together without a mark on her. They leave the cemetery without discovering Misty. At Corporation headquarters, arrangements have been made so that Hank will be identified as a homeless veteran suffering from PTSD. Hank's father is prepared to pay the witches to get them to back off their spell for the time being, then come after them later. Back at the house, Delphine La Laurie performs manicures on Fiona and Marie. She explains in voice over that she was neglected as a child and filled her time cutting the parts off animals to see how they would fare. Fiona makes arrangements to meet with the Corporation at a neutral site in New Orleans. She's counting on them planning to kill them. She cleans around the house, noticing that Madison neglected to flush her "dirt." When Madison refuses to, we cut to the coven slurping up bowls of brown -- mulligatawny soup -- and Myrtle raving about the spices she can identify. Marie walks away with the tureen, pleased with herself. Marie hands over the baby she stole for Delphine to change, while telling her she plans to cut Delphine into pieces and leave her all over town. Delphine spies through the keyhole as Fiona gets dressed late at night, "without her undergarments on" and returns before dawn. Cordelia frantically chants over a potion, trying to get her second sight to return. A worker comes in from the garden with his hand bleeding, after cutting it while pruning."Then I realized what was missing in my life," Delphine tells us as she sees the blood dripping. She volunteers to deal with James. Then takes him up to Spaulding's creepy attic lair and chloroforms him, stringing him up like she did with her slaves. She tells James she has a "scientific fascination" with cutting her slaves apart, and their screams were like a musical background. She wraps up her life story for James, with his foot in her lap, preparing to snip his toes off with pruning shears. Zoe says a spell over the bathtub where Nan died, hoping for something. She sees Fiona's reflection in the water, then Marie's. When Zoe tells Madison what she's doing, she doesn't care at all who was responsible for Nan's death. Madison gets annoyed and tries to stake her claim to Kyle, but he throws her off and says he loves Zoe. Madison retaliates by cracking the mirror and dropping a light on Zoe's head. Myrtle comes to investigate the noise. Madison won't be cowed and brushes off Myrtle's attempts to silence her. She tells Kyle that putting him together was fun, but taking him apart will be even more fun. Fiona enjoys another lazy afternoon with the Axeman. He tells her he wants to take her to his father's farm so they can live out the rest of their days, but first she has to kill the Supreme, whoever it is. She agrees, but says first he has to do something for him. Delphine finishes disemboweling James and Spaulding appears. She says she can explain, but he says "one doesn't explain art."He says he's been watching her alive, without purposes. She's disappointed killing James wasn't more satisfying. Spaulding winds Delphine up, suggesting he go after Marie Laveau, who he thinks has led Fiona astray. Spaulding says he can provide Delphine with the means to kill Marie, but first she has to venture out into the world and retrieve and item that won't be cheap. Cordelia goes to talk to Queenie, to tell her she's glad she's back. Cordelia asks how she survived. Queenie says she got some new powers, and not even the silver bullet Hank used could kill her. She's starting to think she's the next Supreme. She calls Cordelia weak and kicks her out. Back in her greenhouse, Cordelia cries as she makes another potion. She rubs it around her eyes and sobs. She holds pruning shears at her eyes and, with her hands quaking, dives them first into one eye, then the other. Fiona comes back, having heard what Cordelia has done. Myrtle says Cordelia has become a hero to protect the coven.Myrtle dares Fiona to put her hands on Cordelia and have her secrets be revealed. Fiona changes course and goes to get a drink first. Up in the doll attic, Delphine brings Spaulding what he asked for -- an authentic 1895 baby doll. He gives her the potion he says will temporarily render Marie mortal, allowing Delphine to kill her. He reveals a box of Benadryl, which he tells her is so powerful she shouldn't speak its name. Myrtle gives Zoe her most valuable possession -- a piece of jewelry that only she and Lee Radizwill could pull off. She thinks Zoe is leaving the coven with Kyle, and urges her to go so Madison doesn't get to her. She gives Zoe tickets and tells her to go. Harrison Renard, his second in command David, and several of the Corporation suits come to a conference room to meet with Fiona and Marie. First, the witches order drinks. Harrison offers to pay Marie for the collateral damage to her shop if Fiona lifts her spell. Harrison proposes a 100 year truce."This is the end, we give up," Harrison says. The waiter (whose face we can't see) locks the room. Fiona and Marie up their demands, to Harrison's house and a private jet for Marie. The waiter takes off his coat and turns around, it's the Axeman. Fiona makes another offer: "You can all just die." The Axeman turns around and takes out his axe, then throws it into the nearest Corporation suit. He hacks away as the ladies use magic to disarm the others. One by one, the suits go down, leaving only Harrison. He calmly gets a cup of tea and tell women that killing them won't stop the war. Marie doesn't care, she still thinks it'll be fun. "Go to hell, witch bitch," he says. The Axeman tosses Fiona his axe and Fiona takes the gleeful hacks into Harrison's neck, leaving a pool of blood on the floor. Back at the Academy, Fiona and Marie toast to their success as Delphine waits to see Marie's reaction to her drink. Fiona leaves to see the Axeman. Later, up in her room, Delphine waits for her moment, then drives a knife into Marie's chest. It only seems to annoy her. Delphine checks the directions and sees that the "magic" could take time to work. Marie laughs and calmly removes the knife from her chest, explaining it's an antihistamine. She comes after Delphine but Spaulding whacks Marie on the head with a doll, sending her tumbling down the stairs. He know Marie can't die, but suggests Delphine bury her somewhere she can't get out. He only came to Delphine because he wanted Marie gone and she seemed the most likely to go along. Back up in his creepy sanctuary, Spaulding has a new toy in the old baby doll dress -- the very much alive young baby that Marie stole. "A living doll, all my own," Spaulding says as he rocks it. Zoe packs up her things and tries to get Kyle to do the same, but he says he's not going. He's afraid he'll hurt Zoe or someone else. "I have these feelings inside that I can't control," he says. Zoe assures him she's not scared of him. They head to the bus station and get on the bus to Orlando.
12Go to Hell
22 Jan 2014
Description ▼An old timey black and white movie reel of the Salem Witches plays, introducing the Seven Wonders. "Seven acts of magic so advanced, each pushes the boundaries of craft into art." Telekinesis, mind control, transmutation (like teleporting), divination (being able to see without seeing), vitalum vitalis (the balancing of scales between one life force and another), descensum (the perilous descent into the afterlife), pyrokinesis (fire starting). Fiona explains that attempting the SevenWonders can be deadly. Queenie thinks she just wants to find out who the next Supreme is so she can kill her. Queenie wants to know where Marie Laveau is. Fiona brushes it aside, suggesting she's "cavorting with that half-baked Beetlejuice" Papa Legba. Queenie tells her Legba is a deity and she should to show some respect. In response, Fiona chokes the air out of Queenie, agreeing there's a lack of respect in the house. She lets Queenie know her trials begin Saturday morning. "You will perform the Seven Wonders, or you will die trying," Fiona says. Cordelia goes to Madison, looking for answers about Misty. She touched everything in her room and got nothing. She tries to touch Madison, but Madison zooms across the room, then boasts about performing transmutation. Cordelia warns her not to read too much into it, witches' powers always spike in times of crisis. When Cordelia tries again, Madison moves again. Cordelia wants to know what she's hiding, but Madison would rather she not know she tossed Misty in a coffin and put her in a tomb. Madison finally walks over and lets Cordelia touch her, but Cordelia sees nothing. Queenie goes to Cordelia's green house and hears Marie's voice swearing revenge on someone. There's blood all over the ground. Queenie reads through a voodoo book, then lays down on her bed and recites a chant. She sees herself floating over herself, then suddenly she's back in the fried chicken place. The manager goes on break and tells her to watch the counter. There's a long line of customers, and Papa Legba standing at the register. He tells her she's back in the worst time of her life, her own hell. She wants information on Marie Leveau, but he isn't forthcoming. He warns her to get back quickly unless she wants to be stuck. As a customer starts yelling in her face, Queenie sits up on her bed with a start to see Papa Legba in her room. Now that she's proven her powers, she wants answers. He shows her Delphine La Laurie hacking Marie into bits, Marie's own idea for Delphine. Queenie wants to know a way to kill an immortal. She points out that since Marie is hacked up into pieces around town, she can't perform her service for Legba, so technically their deal is already off. "You are one crafty witch," he says. At Delphine's home she leads a tour noting what a wonderful hostess and skilled equestrian Madame Delphine La Laurie was and saying there was no torture chamber in the attic. She calls herself "a woman ahead of her time, a visionary, misunderstood and hated for it." Queenie waits outside. When the tour is over, Queenie makes herself at home. Delphine insists she just setting the record straight on the tour. Cut to Delphine on the tour, hearing herself compared to Jeffrey Dahmber and Jack the Ripper. In the attic, the tour guide says she killed as many as 150 slaves. When that tour group leaves, she tells the guide she left her purse in the attic. When just the two of them are up there, she says it wasn't 150 slaves -- it was 62, she kept a ledger. Delphine picks up a claw hammer and jams it into the tour guide's head, licking the blood spatter from her own face. Up in the attic, Queenie asks her to let the woman go and says she'll give her a chance to make it right, she'll walk her into the Urban League so she can volunteer and begin to make amends. But Delphine says she's learned all she needs to know about forgiveness today from the "magic box" and we see her watching clips of Paula Deen after using the N-word, and Anthony Weiner apologizing. Delphine says she won't apologize because she's not sorry. "To tell a colored man that he can be equal to a white man, there's the real cruelty. I'm not going anywhere," Delphine says. "Actually you are, straight to hell," Queenie says as she stabs Delphine in the heart. Back at the Academy, Fiona sits for her official Supreme portrait and is horrified to get a bloody nose. She thinks to herself that she probably only has two weeks left on earth. Later, Cordelia goes up to her mother's room to ask about Queenie performing the Seven Wonders. Fiona can't believe Cordelia blinded herself. She tells Cordelia she can't lose her powers, they're innate. Fiona gives Cordelia an heirloom necklace from her mother. As she lays it in Cordelia's hand, Fiona realizes her mother is saying good-bye. Fiona puts the necklace around Cordelia's neck and Cordelia has a vision of Madison lying dead on the stairway landing, with her throat slit. Zoe is impaled on something on the wall. Misty is dead in the kitchen, and Queenie is dead with a table leg in her mouth on the floor. Then Cordelia sees herself with a bullet wound to her head and her mother leaning over her and taking the necklace from her dead body. She says nothing about it to her mother. Cordelia pays a visit to the Axeman to warn him it's not safe to love her mother. She tells him what she saw and takes his hand. She tells him Fiona isn't going to run away with him, she has a plane ticket for two days from now and a passport ready. "You feel that empty heartbroken feeling? That's what it feels like to get close to Fiona," Cordelia says. Cordelia feels everything she can find in Misty's room, trying to get a bead on her. She sees Misty singing (Fleetwood Mac, of course) inside a coffin. Then she sees the tomb. Cordelia takes Queenie to the cemetery at night, telling her to use her powers to open the tomb. She busts the brick down and opens the casket. Misty isn't breathing. Queenie breathes life back into Misty. Back at the house, Myrtle tells Madison that Cordelia and Queenie are off to rescue Misty. Myrtle wonders who could be so horrible so as to entomb the poor girl. Madison plays coy. Zoe and Kyle return. They made it to Florida and were sitting under a tree when a homeless man yelled at them for being in his spot. Kyle killed him on the spot. Madison thinks they came back because Zoe couldn't handle Kyle. Instead, we see Zoe breathing life back into the homeless man as she tells Madison they came back because Zoe believe she is clearly the next Supreme. Misty walks in with Cordelia and Queenie and immediately attacks Madison. She doesn't want to waste her magic on her, she uses her hands. She throws Madison around and strangles her, tossing her to the floor. She punches Madison in the face, then picks her up and throws her into a column. When that's not enough she follows her into the next room, kicking her repeatedly. Kyle finally breaks it up. Suddenly a blood-spattered Axeman runs at them, wielding his axe. "Boy, did you walk into the wrong house," Madison says, as all the witches turn on him at once, flinging him into the stairs. They wonder where the blood came from. Cordelia reaches down to the ground and sees a vision of her mother's blooded face. Flash to Fiona returning home to the Axeman. She cozies up to him but he tells her that Cordelia paid him a visit, to rile him up. When Fiona goes into the kitchen, he goes into her purse and finds her plane ticket. She sees that he has it, then regroups. She tells him he's been a delightful distraction and admits she doesn't know anything about love, but he was the best she ever had and she'll miss that. "Let's be realistic, when the next Supreme is dead I'll have 30 years of vitality until the next one comes along, and the doors of every palace will open for me," she says. He glowers at her as she talks, then stalks toward her, finally grabbing her roughly by the hair and saying he loves her and knows she loves him. She denies it, saying she was sick and just needed to feel something. He throws her to the bed but she pushes him off. He accuses her of betraying a true heart of love, but she's never been concerned about love. She starts to tell him a story from her childhood when the Axemaan comes up behind her and drives his axe through her back. He attacks her ferociously, hacking until there's no doubt. Back at the house, Cordelia announces that Fiona is really dead, he fed her to the alligators in the swamp. Queenie asks who's going to kill him. Kyle volunteers, but Madison picks up the axe and nearly hacks him in half. Zoe, Queenie, and Misty use magic to grab kitchen knives and attack in a stabbing frenzy. Meanwhile, Delphine La Laurie is hauled into her own attic torture chamber by two slaves and locked in a cage. She hears the voice of her daughter Boquita from a nearby cage and says she's consumed with regret. Boquita asks why they're doing this and Marie Laveau walks out to answer: "Because we can." Boquita complains she's thirsty, so Laveau slits Delphine's neck and feeds the blood to her. Delphine begs Marie to leave her children alone, but Marie takes a hot poker and lets Delphine choose how she abuses her daughter. Suddenly, Marie snaps out of it, asking how she got there and saying she doesn't want to hurt Boquita. Papa Legba appears and tells her she'll do as she's told. He tells Delphine she has finally gotten her wish and now will spend all of eternity in hell. He tells Marie she broke their contract. He reignites the hot poker and hands it back to Marie. "Now get back to work," he says. Kyle hangs the picture of Fiona on the Supreme wall. Cordelia says Fiona was a horrible Supreme and shirked all of her responsibility, including the most important task of identifying her successor. And now it's time to learn who that will be. (Well, next week.)
13The Seven Wonders
29 Jan 2014
Description ▼Stevie Nicks strolls through the Academy singing, appropriately enough, "Seven Wonders," as the girls each practice the magical feats on their own. Zoe works on levitating the bed, Misty regrows a plant, Queenie tries a voodoo spell to reach Nan. They come downstairs, Stevie wishes them all luck and twirls away. Gathered at a long table, a la Da Vinci's "Last Supper," Myrtle has prepared caviars on blinis with champagne. "For one of you, a last moment of anonymity before assuming the Supremacy. For any one of you others, possibly a last meal," she says. Cordelia recaps that Fiona was supposed identify her successor, but since she failed to, each of the four girls will be given a chance. The next morning, Myrtle notes the break with tradition, instead of the usual easiest to hardest, they begin with her personal favorite: telekinesis. Kyle lights a candle in front of each of the four girls. Misty says she can't do it. "Then you're not the Supreme," Cordelia tells her.Misty gives it a try and, after some concentration, the candle slides toward her. Queenie moves hers effortlessly, as does Madison. Finally, Zoe does the same.Next, concilium aka mind control.Misty makes Queenie slap herself silly. Queenie gets her back by making Misty pull her own hair. Madison and Zoe stare each other down. Madison makes Kyle drop the tray of wine glasses he's holding, then makes Zoe hit herself. Madison brings Kyle over to her and forces him to kiss her as she stares down Zoe. So Zoe uses her power to drag him over and kisses him. Then Madison has Kyle start to strangle Zoe.Finally, Cordelia ends it. Then it time for the descent into Hell, if their souls aren't back by sunrise, they're stuck. The four of them lie on the floor and recite the chant together. Queenie finds herself back in the fried chicken shack, but wakes up quickly. Madison comes back shortly thereafter. "It was horrible, I was stuck on a network musical, it was a live version of 'The Sound of Music.' I wasn't even the lead, I was Liesl," she says. Zoe comes back next, she was stuck in a loop of Kyle breaking up with her over and over, saying he didn't love her.Misty is still gone, stuck in high school science class. She reanimates her frog, so the science teacher makes her dissect the living frog. It happens over and over and over again, with Misty screaming in terror each time.In the morning, Cordelia wants to help her, but Myrtle says there's nothing they can do. Cordelia cradles her and tells her to listen to her voice, but the sand slowly flows from the hourglass and runs out. Time is up and Misty disappears in a pile of dust. Up next is transmutation. The girls play a teleporting game of Tag, sneaking up on each other and squealing with delight at the first fun they've had in ages. Until all of a sudden Zoe ends up impaled on the top of the wrought iron fence spikes, skewered up in the air. They take her into Cordelia's greenhouse. Queenie tries to bring Zoe back, but can't. Cordelia tells Madison to do it to prove herself, but she doesn't want to. Instead she kills a fly and brings it back, then refuses to do the same for Zoe, saying she lost fair and square. She demands to be crowned Supreme.Later inside, Cordelia thinks she's failed the coven. "If Madison Montgomery really is all that is left of us maybe it really is better this way. Maybe we deserve to die out," she says. Myrtle thought it would be Misty or Zoe. She thinks Zoe "had the makings of a fine leader." In the greenhouse, Kyle cries over Zoe, asking why she left him. Inside, Cordelia thinks her mother was right all along about Madison. But Myrtle has a realization. She thinks Cordelia was first oppressed by her mother and then by her own delusions, Myrtle insists Cordelia perform the Seven Wonders. Later, Cordelia challenges Madison. Cordelia lights a candle with her powers, then the fire in the fire place. Next, she makes Queenie dance and raises the grand piano off the floor. She heads down into Hell and takes her time coming back. She saw herself trying to get Fiona's approval and getting "bitch slapped for it." Cordelia zaps herself across the room, performing transmutation -- the fifth wonder. Madison is ready to continue competing. They move on to divination. Myrtle hides items belonging to former Supremes around the house. She spills pebbles and tells Cordelia to find the item belonging to Mimi DeLonre. Cordelia announces a location and Queenie returns with the item, which Cordelia knows is her brooch.Madison is told to find the item belonging to Anna Lee Leighton. Madison stares at the pebbles then announces she's not doing it. She wants to reanimate Zoe instead, then rages about having to do this when she has so many other powers. She gives it one more try and guesses a couple of locations, but gets nowhere. Finally, she gives up, angrily turning on them and saying she's going back to Hollywood "where people are normal." She warns them TMZ will be there soon after she outs the coven. The coven has a moment as se storms off. She goes upstairs to pack, but Kyle finds her and grabs her. He asks why she let Zoe die. Madison pleads with him that she did it for them, because she loves him.Down in the greenhouse, Cordelia attempts to breathe life back into Zoe.Upstairs, Kyle whispers to Madison: "You're not that good an actress." He chokes her around the neck until she dies. In the greenhouse, Zoe sits bolt upright and takes a deep breath. Cordelia falls over. Kyle stands over Madison's body and tries not to be surprised when Spalding arrives. He says the fact she'd started packing means people won't look for her. "Who the hell are you?" Kyle asks. "The help," Spaulding says. In the greenhouse, Cordelia is back on her feet, with her eyes back intact. Everything is in full bloom. "Behold, the one true Surpeme," Myrtle says. Later, Cordelia sits down for a TV interview discussing the coven frankly. She invites anyone who thinks they might be a witch to call or email. Myrtle drops in on Cordelia to tell her she's proud. Cordelia wants to make Queenie and Zoe the new council, to give them elevated positions at the school. But Myrtle thinks to fully realize her Supremacy, Cordelia has to step away from the past. "We all know what happens to a witch who grievously harms another witch," Myrtle reminds her of using a melon baller to take out the former council's eyeballs for Cordelia. "You want to be burned at the stake -- again?" Cordelia asks.Myrtle says now that Cordelia has realized her potential, her life's work is completed. But Cordelia calls Mrytle her true mother and rejects the idea. Myrtle refuses to allow her to be a hypocrite. Dressed in her finest red gown, Myrtle wears fashionable shades as she is tied to the stake and doused with gasoline.Cordelia pronounces her sentence through tears and asks for her last words.Myrtle has just one, which she screams before the flames engulf her: "Balenciaga!" Cordelia ignites her and Myrtle's screams burn away quickly to ashes. Hordes of goth young girls dressed in black line up outside the Academy. Cordelia comes to Zoe and Queenie, asking for their help to develop and celebrate young witches. She asks them to be the council. But before they open the doors, Cordelia gets a chill. She goes downstairs to see Fiona waiting for her. She urges Cordelia to look more closely at her death.Flash to Fiona explaining to the Axeman that she's going to Paris for a few days until Cordelia sorts out the Seven Wonders. She tells him they still have a deal, but first she needs to plant a memory in his mind. He passes out and she stages the scene with blood, then walks out. Back in the house, Fiona tells Cordelia she knew they'd finish off the Axeman.Fiona's cancer has consumed her and she's near death. She tells Cordelia she was a constant reminder of her own mortality and fear. "I loved you plenty, though, just my own way -- which I'll admit had its limitations. Your fault was you were always looking for another version of motherhood," Fiona says.Fiona can feel her power in Cordelia. Cordelia sheds a tear for her own childhood lived in terror of Fiona. Fiona urges her to put her out of her misery and hands her daughter a knife. Cordelia hugs her and tells Fiona she's having a human moment and she has to do this on her own and the only way out is through. She hugs her mother again and realizes it might be the first time. Fiona goes slack in her arms. Fiona wakes up, healthy, in a bed in a country house. The Axeman comes through the door with catfish for her.She yells at him, and he asks her why they have to go through this routine every morning. Every morning she wakes up and acts like she's never been there before -- but she's there for eternity. She thinks Cordelia did this to her. She's horrified by the country and the knotty pine walls and screams about the idea of being trapped there. The Axeman takes her in his arms to dance with her and Fiona sees Papa Legba, laughing at her. Back in the house, Cordelia, Queenie and Zoe open the doors to the young witches. Kyle serves as butler.Cordelia gives the welcoming remarks, telling the girls that "together, we can do more than survive. It's our time to thrive." "What's a Supreme?" one girl asks. "You're looking at her," Queenie says, as we zoom in on Cordelia's smiling face.
