We open with Gary's mother getting him his nightly glass of water. It needs to be a very specific temperature. He has her get him another. During this time, he seems to find something. We cut to two men having breakfast in a house very early in the morning. One plugs in a tablet. The other makes him some eggs. The camera pans to their yard and the street and we see the Alphas and a SWAT unit are poised to raid the home. One of the men inside is Milos Kosar, who leads Red Flag's most aggressive cell and was the one who sent the ghost after Dr. Rosen (David Strathairn) and the rest of the gang in the pilot episode. Rachel (Azita Ghanizada) says she hears three heartbeats inside the house. Eventually Rosen gives the go-ahead for them to take the house. Immediately Hicks fires a shot that takes out one of the back door's pins, allowing easier access. Kosar's buddy senses they are under attack and grabs Kosar, preventing him from going back for the tablet. As they leave the room, we see Kosar's hand go up. Everything goes black. When the lights come back on, Kosar and the other man are gone. Rachel hears just one heart beat. They break down a back door and find a young woman sitting in a rocking chair, staring ahead as if in a daze. The young woman's name is Anna. Rosen says she is most likely a low functioning autistic. Nina (Laura Mennell) says she has no record of family.Bill (Malik Yoba) starts grabbing evidence. Rosen takes the tablet, which Rachel says is encrypted. Rachel says the blackout was anything from normal. Rosen says he wants Nina to stay at the home and supervise Gary (Ryan Cartwright) and Anna.Gary watches Anna closely. He seems fascinated as she passes her fingers over the closet door and items on the door.A powerpoint presentation is found in the home. Hicks (Warren Christie) thinks the message of empowerment for Alphas seems useful, while Rosen wants to blow right past it. Rosen perks up when Bill shows him paperwork related to an oil company. With use of a cell phone, Gary figures out how to read what Anna is saying. Her first message is "I can help you find them."The rest of the team returns to the home. Gary explains what he's done with Anna's "language." He tells Rosen she knows every language on the planet. An awed Rosen calls Anna a "virtual Rosetta Stone." He thinks she has severe issues with speech and motor skills but her language and pattern recognition is highly developed. She is an Alpha though. Sullivan (Valerie Cruz) points out Red Flag may have noticed this as well. Rosen thinks they can have her decode the emails on the tablet and lead them to Kosar.Rosen brings Gary home after his usual bedtime. His mother is furious. She seems delighted, however, when Rosen mentions his interest in Anna.Gary sees the tablet has audio software that connects her finger movements on a brush. This also means she is able to "talk" to Gary though a voice on the computer. Anna asks Gary about his Alpha ability. She is very impressed. They start working on the emails. The emails get sent to Bill. Rachel shows Rosen a piece of carpet singeing that indicates static electric interference. This is Kosar's skill. Bill brings over one of the emails to Rosen. It has the routing number for a fuel truck he thinks Kosar wants to blow up.We see Kosar and his friend at a rest stop. They get into a fuel truck loaded with explosives and head onto the road.Bill and a small team corner the truck from Gary's email. It turns out to just be a random driver with no explosives. We see the number from this truck is one off from the truck Kosar is now driving onto the New Jersey turnpike.Rosen grills Bill on how this mistake could have happened. Rosen calls Nina and says he wants Gary in the office.Cut to Anna talking to Gary about how he doesn't "need" Rosen. He can do things for himself. Gary notices a number is off from what Anna told him in another email. He asks her to count to ten and she ignores him. Nina comes in to bring Gary to the office. He flatly refuses.Hicks talks to Rosen about not taking Kosar too personally as that could make him prone to mistakes. After Nina leaves, Gary asks Anna why she lied to him. He's gone back and figures out she intentionally gave him the wrong number for the truck. Anna is still working for Red Flag, he says. "No," she says. "They work for me."Bill and Hicks decide to look at all the trucks with fuel still on the road. There are too many to track, however.Anna tells Gary sometimes there is no choice. People have to get hurt. There is a drug called Renestrin, she tells him, designed to eliminate birth defects. It also means it will prevent Alphas from being born. Red Flag wants to stop this. Anna says they are sending a message. People like them aren't a problem to be fixed. We see the truck heading through the Holland Tunnel.Gary tells Anna he's tricked her. He doesn't think she'll like it.Rachel gets a message from Gary. The team knows Kosar is headed to a pharmaceutical plant. Rosen is told Anna is Red Flag. He and Nina go to get Gary. The rest of the team heads to the plant.Gary suggests Rosen can help Anna. She says she doesn't need anyone's help and does something to cause discomforting interference in Gary's head. He grabs his ears and drops to the ground.Bill and Hicks get to the plant just as Kosar does. They prevent his buddy from detonating the explosives remotely. Kosar gets underneath the truck and uses his power to set it off with his hands.Rosen and Rachel find Gary is okay. Anna has disappeared.Rosen brings Gary home. He says Rosen "is not one of us." Gary says he sent Rosen an email he should read. Inside, Gary tells his mother he can get his water himself. He can take care of himself, he says. Gary gets a message from Anna apologizing and making sure they are still friends.Rosen and his team look at a message found over an open frequency sent by Anna. Red Flag was sending a message to drug companies. Rosen admits he underestimated the strength of Red Flag's message. He next tells Sullivan he and Wilson thought Red Flag was a "loose affiliate" of 50 to 100 cells. Gary has learned there are literally thousands of Red Flag cells across the country.
5Never Let Me Go
08 Aug 2011Description ▼
We open at night with a couple of high school sweethearts fooling around in the stands of a football stadium. They hear something and a few minutes later a man grabs the woman. Her boyfriend kicks him down the stairs. They look down at the man whose face appears almost zombie-like and says "Mr. Howard?"Rachel makes out with a date. While they kiss she starts freaking out and asks him to leave.Dr. Rosen gives the guys brand-new DCIS (Defense Criminal Investigative Service) badges, with the idea being to help cut red tape during cases. Rosen, like everybody, asks her about what was her first date. She doesn't want to talk about it. He asks her to travel with him to Fenton, Pennsylvania.Agent Sullivan told Rosen Fenton has recently seen a number of deaths due to rabid organ failure. The CDC doesn't have any answers, but Rosen thinks an Alpha could be connected. Immediately Rachel smells fear, telling Rosen the entire town is "scared to death." They meet with CDC doc Calder who tells them in the victims damage was centered in the fear/stress centers of the brain.Rosen and Rachel show their new badges to the local sheriff. He says the three bodies looked "half melted inside" but there was no infection. A fourth person, a young kid named Chris, was killed in a car accident, but no autopsy was performed. Rosen makes a request to see the body. They talk to the boy's mother, Mrs. Elkhart, about permission exhuming his body. She says Chris helped her get through the death of his father when he was 12. She mentions Chris recently tried out for the football team and was cut. Elhart hated the coach and said Chris never fit in. Rachel gets emotional and tells Chris' mother he was lucky to have her. She agrees to let them examine his body.Outside Rachel tells Rosen that her parents won't even return her calls since she moved out. They go back to see the sheriff and strangely find the station to be completely empty. Rachel smells decay and they head to the back. While in the back the sheriff tries to grab Rachel. He falls to the ground, looking exactly like the victim in the opening. Just before dying he whispers that she should have stopped it.The rest of the team heads to Fenton to join Rosen and Rachel. Rosen tells them the sheriff's body had levels of Cortisol (the hormone the body produces in response to stress) four times higher than normal. In high enough amounts Cortisol has the ability to eat away at organs and muscles. The team targets the town's football coach, Kent Zelansky, who now has connections to several of the victims -- Chris, the father of the town's football star and the school guidance counselor. At the high school Gary finds four "mean emails" from Zelansky to quarterback stud David Burton.Bill and Nina speak with the uber-confrontational Zelansky. He gets defensive when Bill questions him about his relationship with David Burton's father Ned.Gary comes across a sweaty David Burton as he bullies a kid in the hallway. Gary pulls info out of the air that is unflattering to David, resulting in trying to beat up Gary. Hicks comes to the rescue just minutes before David collapses. The team takes David to the hospital. Chris' autopsy comes back and it doesn't seem to indicate he suffered from what killed the rest of the victims. David's body is continuing to produce Cortisol even after being flushed. Rosen thinks the victims are all displaying symptoms of withdrawal. When Calder takes David's hand he seems to respond. Rosen thinks there is someone out there who is cutting off ties to the victims with fatal ramifications. David begins to crash.Rachel tells Elkhart it doesn't seem like he was one of the victims. She tells Rachel that football players like David bullied him for being different and spread rumors about him. Making matters worse was that Chris idolized the football players. Elkhart takes a liking to Rachel.Bill and Hicks examine the scene of Chris' death. Hicks is convinced it was no accident.Rosen's suggestion that David receive Oxytocin seems to be working. David tries to tell Rosen that he didn't mean to hurt someone but doesn't give a name. Bill and Hicks call to tell Rosen Chris' death was a suicide. All the victims so far were involved in either bullying or covering-up Chris' bullying, which gives Chris' mother quite a bit of motive.Cut to Rachel sitting with Elkhart. She talks about how much she loved Chris, and Rachel tells her that her parents think she is a freak. Rachel complains about her parents' lack of acceptance for her unique abilities and says they won't return her calls. Elkhart gives Rachel a long hug, afterwards Rachel says "I feel wonderful."Hicks and Bill arrive and find Rachel is gone.Rachel and Chris' mother are in the car together. She asks Rachel about her team members being alphas and says she has to make one step -- and will need Rachel's help to "get away."Rosen tells Nina that Rachel could be very much in danger. He thinks Chris' death has triggered a psychotic episode similar to postpartum depression for Elkhart. Gary locates Elkhart's car.Cut to Elkhart telling Rachel about initially comforting David's father after he apologizes for what happened to David. When he told her he didn't stop the behavior she became angry and was dead in a day. Elkhart and Rachel argue over her actions and Rachel starts to look ill.Bill and Hocks get in an accident trying to catch Elkhart. Bill decides to run for it.Rachel notices Bill on the way and Elkhart pulls the car over. She tells Rachel sorry and begins to tell Rachel she doesn't love her and wants her to die. She drives off and Rachel starts to writhe in pain.Elkhart pays a visit to Zelansky. He tells her that if they talk he'll feel much better. She responds that she wants him to spend his last few hours "dying alone."Rosen arrives with Oxytocin for Rachel. It doesn't seem to be working. Rosen explains that she is like a daughter to him and everybody tells her they love her. This seems to pull her out of it.Zelansky and Elkhart argue. He asks what he can do and she says "burn in hell." The team arrives and places Elkhart in custody. Rachel says Chris wouldn't want her to hurt anybody.Rosen told the public that Elkhart poisoned her victims. He tells Rachel Elkhart will be headed to custody and gives her a mini-pep talk.

The team return to the car and find Gary is gone.Gary is located at a local precinct. Bill and Rachel argue over who is to blame. At the station Bill talks with a cop about the case that is dominating their days, the Lisa Collier kidnapping. It seems she was taken by a drug cartel who has recently sent proof of life to her family. Gary tells Bill that he's located Lisa's cellular signal, It's nearby.Bill and Gary find Lisa's cell in a sewer. Bill tells Gary he thinks if he can crack the case he has a chance to get back in the FBI. He wants Gary to be his "partner."A cop stops by to ask Nina about someone named Timothy Darren. She used her mind control to get him to leave and Hicks witnesses the exchange. She tells Hicks the cop thinks she killed someone.Bill brings the cell phone (a burner) to the FBI. He learns Lisa's father has factories in the cartel's territory and he didn't want to pay the "taxes" they were looking for. Some members of the FBI aren't thrilled to see Bill around, but Lisa's father James says that since Bill and Gary are the only ones to make any progress he wants them on the case. James' chief of security, Sarah, agrees they could use all the help they can get.We see the two men holding Lisa bickering about waiting for the next move. They don't appear to be cartel. Lisa is handcuffed to a bed with an IV in her arm. With Gary's mother worried, Rosen and Nina go looking for Bill and Gary.Bill and Gary get information from a restaurant owner with ties to crime.Hicks drops by Nina's place. He says he's there to apologize and she gives him a tour.Gary and Bill seem to have learned the cartel didn't take Lisa. While they sit in a restaurant Gary hears the FBI get a call from a burner phone requesting $10 million for Lisa. They will call back in one hour and, unlike the feds, Gary should be able to trace the call if he is near a good tower. At the top of the precinct Bill promises if Gary finds the phone he'll let him drive. He finds the signal and Bill says the next step for Gary is lessons.Hicks and Nina flirt while he pushes her about what is going on with her legal situation. She says se dated this guy Darren before being aware of her powers. When she tried to break it off she said "why don't you do yourself a favor and kill yourself." He did. Hicks thinks she should tells the cops what happened. They end up kissing.Bill and Gary go to a bar. Gary's points out the guy with a phone and Bill chases him out the back door. The guy turns and begins shooting. Bill shoves Gary out of the way and he ends up bruised. The feds arrive at the scene later and don't want to hear that the cartel is involved. The result of spooking the kidnapper is that they have raised the ransom. The agent who has been particularly opposed to Bill (Persky) has he and Gary arrested. On their way to the cruiser James yells at Bill for endangering his little girl.Rachel comes home and awkwardly interrupts Nina and Hicks fooling around on the couch. In the holding cell Gary is pushing for them to make a phone call. Bill is realizing he made a mistake by going after the guy by himself. Bill mutters about losing his job at the FBI and his wife not understanding him.Rosen yells at Bill in the parking lot outside the holding cell. Bill wants help from Rosen but he doesn't want to hear it. Gary tells them when the pick-up will take place and Bill explains to Rosen they are the only hope for Lisa. He thinks that these guys simply want to stick it to James and will never give back his daughter without their help. The man Bill and Gary found at the bar is shot by his partner for taking the risk of having a drink.Bill explains to the rest of the team what he and Gary have been working on and thanks them for helping. The drop zone is supposed to be the Bronx Zoo. The location confuses Bill.Lisa's remaining kidnapper is preparing to kill her and dispose of her body. He lays out some plastic and tells her he'll make it easy for her as long as there is some "quid pro quo." He wants her to send her a message from the other side.Bill focuses on the route Perksy and Nelson will take to the pick-up spot. He has Rachel look at the apartment where Lisa had been held and she finds it's rigged with explosives. Hicks disarms the bomb and inside they find the body of the guy from the bar. Lisa and her kidnapper are gone, headed to the drop point. They assume the kidnappers must have somebody on the inside.Cut to Persky and Nelson riding to the scene. Bill sends Persky a text that the kidnapper have someone on the inside. Nelson guesses something is up and tazes Persky, then destroys the car's GPS.With the GPS off Gary is unable to track Nelson.Lisa's kidnapper tells her "it's almost over."Gary locks on Persky's cell phone and they mange to track her to car. They place her under arrest and Nina uses control to get her to tell them where Lisa is located. They are able to get her to walk into the room and tell the kidnapper a lie, enabling Bill and Hicks time to move in. Lisa is secured.James and Lisa are reunited outside the building. He thanks Bill and Gary for the help. James asks Bill if he'd like help getting back into the FBI and says he'd be happy to make a call on his behalf. "Thank you," he says. Bill and Persky talk about the incident that led to Bill's dismissal. He apologizes to Persky, then tells him he should take the collar. Bill doesn't want to join the FBI after all.At home Bill tells his wife a lie about not being able to re-join the FBI. She says she doesn't care where he works, only that he's happy.Nina tells Hicks she's spoken to the detective and things have been cleared up. They agree to have dinner "sometime."Bill teaches Gary to drive.

Open with armed men storming a young woman's apartment. The place is filled with gadgets. She seems to have a robotic insect floating around her. She collects several items, including the bug and ducks out a window. As soon as the men are inside, she blows the building.Dr. Rosen (David Strathairn) and Sullivan (Valerie Cruz) get to know one another over some dinner. He is surprised she is such an outside-the-box thinker in her private life.Bill (Malik Yoba) and his wife have a discussion about having children. She is clearly hearing the sound of her biological clock, but he doesn't seem excited about the idea.Gary's mother calls Rosen to say Gary (Ryan Cartwright) is sick and won't be able to come into work. After she hangs up, we see she is lying, telling Gary that Rosen has told her he isn't needed that day.Hicks (Warren Christie) tinkers with an old toaster and flirts with Nina (Laura Mennell) about it. Rosen makes a comment to Nina about a possible relationship with him. They get a call from Sullivan. An Alpha, Skylar Adams (Summer Glau), is missing. At Skylar's place, we learn the team knew Skylar. Her hobby is related to inventing. Rachel (Azita Ghanizada) figures out men in assault boots were chasing her. Skylar was ready for them. Nina had some sort of friendly relationships with Skylar, though they haven't spoken in years.Nina gets a man who sold Skylar specialized parts that she was meeting a buyer at a farmer's market.Cut the farmer's market where Skylar is selling a dude some kind of sleep machine. Just as the transaction is complete, she spots the same men from the opening. She takes off. They chase after her. The men catch her just as the Alphas arrive on the scene. Hicks knocks the gun out of one of their hands. Bill grabs her and throws Skylar in a car driven by Rosen.Back at HQ, Skylar doesn't seem thrilled about being followed. She refuses to tell Rosen who was after her or what they may have wanted. We learn years earlier Rosen made an offer for her to work with them but she declined. Rosen says he won't force her to do anything against her will, but they need to figure a few things out first.Bill asks Hicks about his kid.Back at home Gary realizes his mother lied to him about Rosen not wanting him to work that day. Gary has told his mother about some of his work and it has clearly spooked her. She doesn't want him to return to work with Rosen. He yells at her to leave.Skylar is working on something when Nina comes to visit her.Sullivan tells Rosen that Clay (Mahershala Ali) is on his way to collect Skylar.Skylar still won't say what she's up to. She makes a few cracks about Nina and her team being order-taking "flunkies."Sullivan says the plan is to place Skylar in protective custody and have her work for the government.Sitting on his bed at home, Gary spots a team of men with guns arriving at the backdoor of Alpha HQ. He sends Bill a text and team prepares. Clay and his DOD agents arrive at the same time and confront the men who've been chasing Skylar. They are NSA. Skylar shows up and places a device on the ground. It renders everybody incapacitated, allowing her to escape.Gary sees what is happening and sneaks out of the house. In just a few minutes, Skylar made a device that used sound and light to stun everybody. Bill isn't happy Skylar showed no appreciation for them saving her. Nina is furious the plan is to give Skylar over to the government.Gary hails a cab.Clay tells Rosen that Skylar has been communicated with someone named "Z." The code's algorithm was sophisticated enough the NSA couldn't break it. They suspect she could be working for a foreign government, or even Red Flag.Nina comes home to find Skylar grabbing stuff from her apartment.Rosen tells the team they are now in a joint operation with NSA, though in reality it's a finders, keepers mission. Bill tracked a car he believed Skylar stole and had police track it to Nina's apartment.Cut to Nina driving Skylar in her car. Skylar convinces her to toss her cell phone. She wants to be taken off the map, but first needs to stop so she can "kill Bob." Bob is located at a NSA facility in Connecticut. A guard turns a gun on them. Nina gets them out of trouble. Bob is a super-computer run by an advanced processor Skylar built herself. It is the reason the NSA has been able to track her. She takes out the processor and places an explosive inside.Gary is dropped of at Alpha HQ and finds everyone missing. He picks up one of Skylar's bugs and realizes he can track her using it.At the NSA facility, Rosen gets a call about Gary running away. Clay tells them about the capabilities of Bob. Rachel tells them the process is gone. Clays says her contact with Z has increased. In Maine, Nina and Skylar stop for provisions. Nina says she wants answers, but Skylar still refuses. To Skylar's chagrin, Gary gets dropped off at the gas station. She decides Nina is no longer the way to go and tosses a device of some sort before bolting. The team has now reached Nina and Gary, who got a shock from Skylar's device. Rosen tells Nina about the rumors of Red Flag's involvement and says he needs her help. Skylar has stolen another car. Rachel thinks she can track it.We cut to Skylar arriving at a home. She tells an older man she doesn't have much time. He tells her Z is upstairs. The team arrives at Skylar's location. Gary helps Hicks get in the home via an upstairs window. He walks in gun drawn only to find a little girl drawing "Zoe" on a piece of paper. She asks if they are looking for her mother.Skylar tells the team her daughter has off-the-charts quantitative aptitude. She knew the NSA would never let her keep her daughter if they knew what she could do, so she had her uncle keep her hidden.Clay arrives at the house. Rosen tells him Skylar got away. He seems to sense Rosen let it happen.Gary has a long conversation with his mother, explaining working with the team is what makes him happy.Sullivan tells Rosen that Clay is raising hell about his report regarding Skylar. She tells him protecting his team is her toughest job.Rose and Nina meet with Skylar at a remote location. The deal for her helping them was to hand over a processor; a device Rosen knows could be used to track every alpha in the world. He smashes it.Bill's wife opens a package and finds a book about older couples having children.

TENNESSEE, 1980A church where a mass suicide ritual is about to begin. Several bodies lie in the aisle. A leader of some sort speaks to a young boy about what is about to happen and knocks a can of gasoline over. Just as he lights the liquid on fire, the boy, Jonas, heads for the exit.In present day, Dr. Rosen (David Strathairn) has Nina (Laura Mennell) give away her belongings to make a clean break from her past. Bill (Malik Yoba) pushes for the team to participate in a training program related to police tactics. Rosen doesn't like it, saying by choice he's never fired a gun. Hicks (Warren Christie) tells Rosen his wife is taking their child to another part of the country. He apparently got the shaft during custody hearings because of his past with alcohol. He looks longingly at a bottle of booze and then tells Rosen he's going to an AA meeting. Rachel (Azita Ghanizada) is desperate to bring a date to a family function so her parents won't try and set her up. It's looking like Gary (Ryan Cartwright) is her only option.Hicks' AA meeting. A man addresses the group, saying he's not an alcoholic. Jonas (Garrett Dilahunt) thinks he's able to bring them happiness. Jonas begins to chant in a foreign dialogue. A white glow emanates from his body. Everybody in the room, including Hicks, seems to be pulled into some kind of spell. At the gathering, Rachel hears everybody making fun of her for being with someone so young. When her father coughs, she is able to sense he is very sick and needs to go the doctor immediately. Instead, her parents yell at her for taking attention away from her sister during her engagement party.Hicks and Nina start kissing. He says he's finally figured something out and wants her to come with him. They travel to an estate where Jonas is preparing to speak to a gathering of thousands. Nina looks around at everybody. She is immediately uncomfortable and wants to leave. When Jonas arrives, a man grabs her and immediately puts her under the same trance.Rachel tries to explain to Gary why her father won't seek medical attention. He says she has to keep telling her father the truth until he gets it. With tears in her eyes, she agrees.Hicks and Nina garden on Jonas' estate. They look into each other's eyes and strip off each other's clothes. As they make love, a man on the grounds clutches his chest. He starts seizing and drops to the ground. Nina and Hicks tell Jonas they must get the man to a doctor. They convince Jonas that Rosen would understand.Rosen arrives at Jonas' compound. He finds a boy who tells him Jonas is "everybody's father." Jonas takes Rosen to his "patients," a room full of people lying in cots. Several need hospital care. At least one is dead. Jonas tells Rosen he helps people see the connection of all things. Rosen realizes he is an Alpha.Jonas takes Rosen to see Hicks and Nina, who are in bed together. They defend Jonas' "gift." Cellular signals are blocked so Rosen can't contact the outside world.Rosen tells Jonas his followers are suffering from Encephalitis Lethargica, a disease of the brain. He explains the neurological cause for what the people experience. Rosen continues to convince Jonas not to use his power on him, but tells him he needs to get the people some medicine. Jonas wants him to write a prescription and have somebody else pick up the drugs.Rachel goes to see her father. She tells him he has cancer in his throat and if he doesn't see a doctor he will die. She tells him if he doesn't see a doctor the following day, she'll come back.Rosen finds his car has been tampered with. Rosen watches Jonas say a few words before another of his followers is cremated. He tells Rosen this is how things have always been. It is up to him to change what happens.Rachel and Gary come to the office. Bill tells them Rosen still hasn't show up. They realize Nina and Hicks are also missing. Gary can't ping any of them, meaning they aren't near a cell tower.Rosen is finding the L-DOPA isn't helping Jonas' followers. Jonas tells him ever since he was young, people he's "gifted" have gotten sick. His father believed what happened was the darkness trying to steal back Jonas' gift and responded by purifying the congregation with fire. At least one member of the congregation has gotten better. When the man recovers, he tells Jonas whatever he did to him felt like a drug to which he could easily become addicted. Jonas leaves. The man tells Rosen he wants to go home.Gary figures out Rosen is probably at Jonas' house.Rosen finds Jonas has taken away the L-DOPA because it is robbing his followers of his gift. Jonas tells him the worst part of his gift is he can't experience it himself. He tells Rosen he must find another answer.Bill, Rachel and Gary arrive at the Jonas compound. Bill goes in alone, insisting the other two wait behind in the car. Nina spots Bill and uses her power to get Bill to give her his gun.Rachel and Gary call for DOD backup. Gary wants them to go in after him. Rachel says no.Inside the home Bill tells Jonas what to expect in terms of the forces coming.Jonas tells Rosen he was a mistake. Josen never should have brought Rosen here. Rosen tells him again his "gift" is killing these people. He says he finally understands what his father was taking about. They will all burn.We see Bill pouring gasoline around the home. He seems unable to use his alpha power. While Hicks pours gasoline, he falls to the ground in pain. Jonas tells Nina that Hicks has "been called."Rosen breaks into Jonas' desk to get the medicine. He finds a handgun in there as well.Jonas speaks to his followers while Rosen sneaks around giving people injections of medicine. Nina snaps out of it.She starts to help Rosen. Jonas begins to glow. Rosen sees what he is doing. Rosen shoots Jonas in the face. Jonas drops his torch to the floor. The house begins to burn.Everybody manages to get out. Rachel tells a shaken Rosen that Jonas' victims are all responding.Rachel's dad tells her his cancer should be treatable, since it is rarely caught so early.Hicks and Nina agree not to talk about what happened between them to the rest of the group.Rosen asks Bill (who still can't use his power) how the light felt. Rosen seems to feel like he should pay a price. Bill tells Rosen to aim for the chest next time. Rosen says that he was aiming for the chest!

We open with Rosen (David Strathairn) telling Bill (Malik Yoba) a Red Flag prisoner is being brought to their office. The Department of Defense has built a state-of-the art holding cell in the middle of the department, along with a new lock-down feature. Rosen is searching for a way to get Bill's ability back..Cameron (Warren Christie) and Nina (Laura Mennell) arrive with the prisoner, who has been sedated. When they leave the elevator it seems as if an unseen person was in there with them.Bill is sounding like he doesn't miss his power. They give the new patient an MRI.Nina told Rosen about what's been happening with Cameron. He told her that Cameron might be bad for her. She thinks he might have a point, since she's screwed-up every relationship she's ever had. Once the leave the room one of the computer springs to life. The MRI of their prisoner, obstetrician Dr. Kern (Brent Spiner), revealed he is blind (his optic nerve never developed). Rosen thinks this means he is an Alpha. Kern is there because DOD thinks he's been doing some research. They want to know why. They've seized a ton of information from Kern's office. We see Kern spring to life in a cell and look around. In another room, Rachel (Azita Ghanizada) senses something. She walks around, hears a fast heartbeat, but sees nobody.Kern tells Rosen and Bill he wants his lawyer. Rosen throws something at Kern's back. He ducks. Rosen says Kern must have sonar similar to a bat or a dolphin. Kern tells them: "this isn't going to end well."Cameron tells Rosen he'd like to have a little space with Nina. Rosen says he doesn't think he can "let it go,".They are interrupted by Rachel, who has news. She found active human DNA inside neonatal vitamins in Kern's office.Nina has a minor bloody nose.Kern tells Rosen the DNA he places in the vitamins is a counter-agent for pills designed to prevent birth defects -- like alpha abilities. They debate the dangers of the Red Flag organization. Kern said he sees a time when the "unenhanced" are able to join Red Flag. He thinks Rosen would fit right in. Kern seems disturbingly confident he isn't going to Binghamton.Rachel again senses someone bout doesn't see anybody. She follows the sense into the elevator where she is grabbed violently by an arm.Bill is having issues with the computer system. Nina tells them Rachel is missing. Gary (Ryan Cartwright) can't find anything. Using the security footage, they follow her to the elevator where she disappears. They find blood and drag marks near the elevator, along with a crack near the frame.Rosen asks Kern about Rachel's location. Kern said the number of heartbeats hasn't changed since he's arrived. When he says the number is eight, Rosen tells him it should only be seven. Kern asks if strange things have been happening around the office. Kern says they have an "unwelcome guest" and says if Rosen doesn't let him help them they are all going to die. With Kern yelling at a security camera to be let out in order to help them, the team discusses their options. Rosen talks to them about proprioception, the ability to sense things. He says there may be an alpha there whose ability to explore the blind spot of everybody's perception. Gary thinks the recent glitches in the cameras could also explain why they can't see this person. Gary turns on a different camera. They briefly spot a woman standing behind Cameron. Before they can react, she cuts him with a knife and activates the blast door. They are now locked in with this person.Nina patches Cameron up. Gary's phone is missing, as is Bill's gun. They hear shots and see bullets were fired at Kern's cell. He said the woman is named Griffin (Rebecca Mader). She doesn't work for Red Flag. Instead she's a mercenary who sells her abilities to the highest bidder. Kern thinks Griffin is after him and will kill of them to get to him.Rachel is bound and gagged in an air shaft.Rosen gives Bill a shot in order to kick-start his alpha ability in order for him to break through the blast door. It doesn't work. Rosen thinks they need to go on the offensive. They begin to randomly spray fire extinguishers and powder in order to flush Griffin out. She ends up locking everybody in a secure room beside Gary. We see her pull out a knife. At this moment, Rachel comes up from behind her and hits her over the head, knocking Griffin out. With Griffin in custody, Rosen asks some questions. She's been following Kern for two weeks. She tells them the cracks showing up in the beams and walks are the result of sonic vibrations sent out from Kern. She says she's working for someone interested in Kern's research.Cameron's knife wound has begun bleeding again. Rosen thinks the vibrations are to blame. More cracks begin to form. They start hearing rumbles. Kern tells them they have driven him to this point as the whole building begins to shake. Kern sets himself free as the team is knocked unconscious. He steps over them and leaves.Bill wakes up and helps lead everybody to safety. Cameron isn't doing very well. Kern interrogates Griffin, asking who hired her. The walls shake violently as Bill's powers return. He distracts Kern long enough for Griffin to stab him in the neck.As a payback for helping her, Griffin told Bill he better find out what "Stanton Parish" means. Bill mentions it to Rosen.Cameron kisses Nina.Rachel tells Rosen the in-house cell was a bad idea. Rosen tells her she saved all of them. Griffin is gone, along with the data on Kern's vitamins.

Open with an younger man showing up to meet with an older man. The older man is surprised to see him saying "you're not with the committee" and "you're one of them, aren't you." The older man says something about some mistakes never going away before the younger man grabs him in the chest, which seems almost to turn the older man to stone. We see tactical teams taking Dr. Rosen and Gary into custody, followed by Bill, then Hicks, Nina and Rachel. All of them wake up in stark white individual holding cells that are designed to minimize their powers. Clay has brought them to Binghamton, telling Rosen they will stay there until he finds out "which one of you is the traitor."Clay tells Rosen that Sullivan ordered them brought in. Clay says that several scientists who were predecessors of Rosen's were killed the day before. They were killed using Alpha abilities and each received a call from Rosen's office hours before they died. Clay thinks there is a mole in the team. Rosen believes that he is being set-up by Red Flag.Clay interviews the team with an Alpha named Eric who specializes in body language analysis watching on hidden camera. He thinks Hicks is telling the truth when he says he had nothing to do with the men getting killed. He reads to Nina an unflattering report Rosen wrote about her. Gary is asked about his relationship with Anna. Clay asks Bill who he thinks is most likely to be a mole. A super-nervous Rachel tells Clay he might be turning friends into enemies. Clay decides they need to change the plan. The team is placed in the same room. Clay tells them if they don't figure out amongst themselves who is the traitor they will all be sent to Building 7, where the "worst of the worst" are held.Almost immediately the team starts to turn on themselves, with Bill mentioning the "calm guy" (in this case Hicks) is usually guilty. We learn that Eric was a former patient of Rosen's who used his ability to win poker games. Rosen fakes a back problem and writes a secret message for Rachel to find out the door code. A medical team is brought to work on Rosen and the team is placed back in their cells. The team manages to turn the tables on the guards and get loose. Clay calls for a lockdown but the team is able to move into the hallway and get past more guards. As they break through the exterior fence we see a sniper has them in his crosshairs. Clay orders him to stand down, saying they'll adjust their plan.Bill takes the team to a remote place that had been used by gun-runners. Bill tells them they're not leaving until they figured out who called. It sounds like Hicks was the only one who didn't read up on the doctors who were killed. Gary wants to call Anna and ask her, but nobody is interested. Rosen says he knows who the traitor is.Clay gets a call with information on their location.Rosen says he hopes the traitor will confess just as Gary tells them Clay is nearby. Rosen says that the only way he'll know the traitor is redeemable is if they confess. If not he'll turn them over to Clay.Clay arrives at the warehouse complex. They aren't sure which building and start a search.Rosen says that there have been secret deposits to Hicks' bank account totaling more than $300,000. Hicks makes a comment about them not understanding and that the money was for his kid. Rosen says he never should have let Hicks on the team and that he should have sent him to Binghamton a long time ago. Hicks punches Rosen. This sets off Bill, who begins fighting Hicks as he claims he didn't do it. Rosen seems to have a pretty significant nose bleed. Just as Bill is about to club Hicks with a cinder block Clay's team bursts through the wall. Rosen tells Clay "it's Hicks" and says he needs to get Gary out of there. Rosen hustles Gary into a car.Once Rosen and Gary leave Rachel notices that blood that fell from Rosen is the wrong type -- he's an imposter.Cut to the real Rosen waking up in a room someplace. On the walls are detailed pictures of his face. He pretends to be asleep when the man from the opening walks into the room. He puts his hands on Rosen in an attempt to kill him the way the older man in the opening was killed. But Rosen stabs him with a needle and avoids the death. The fake Rosen is attempting to get Gary to erase all of the files. It seems like his disguise is breaking down. While Gary works on deleting the files the real Rosen walks into the room: "Gary, step away from that man. He's not me."The fake Rosen is an Alpha whose ability is to change his appearance. He starts to break his disguise and Gary realizes who the real Rosen is. Rosen wants to figure out what is in the files this man doesn't want him to see and he moves towards the computer. The rest of the team arrives and grabs the shape-changer.Rosen's not sure what was in the files that the wanted to erase. Eric is going to be released soon and Clay wants him to occasionally work with Rosen. Rosen tells Clay he isn't happy with his methods. Clay tells him he should worry about Red Flag.Hicks says the secret account is his kid's college fund. He gets the money from baseball card shows. We see that something is wrong with Bill's heart and he drops to the ground as the episode ends.

We open with the Alpha team following Isaac (the guy with the death touch) and another Red Flag operative. Rosen (David Strathairn) tells the team they are not to engage. Isaac follows a man and a woman. He tells them they have something of his and they make a run for it. Isaac ends up killing the man (Will) in an alley. He grabs the woman's hands. Hicks (Warren Christie) jumps in to save her. Rosen shows up on scene and clearly knows the woman, who he calls Danielle. Nina (Laura Mennell) tries to push the woman but she does something that causes Nina to recoil. Rosen tells Hicks the woman is his daughter.Nina tells Hicks that Rosen's daughter has the ability to make people feel how they want to feel. Gary (Ryan Cartwright) has lost Isaac, but tells us Dani ran away from home when she was 17.Bill (Malik Yoba) comes to the office and finds only Gary working. Bill was supposed to be away for another week. Doctors told him the infarction normalized him.Bill wants to find out more about the Stanton Parish he was warned about. He thinks the secret to Parish may be on Rosen's cloud drive. He wants Gary to look into it. Gary finds Dani going into a fleabag hotel and tells Rosen where to find her.Rosen finds his daughter, who says she doesn't want him to be there. He wants to help her. She isn't having it. Isaac (Evan Sabba) shows up and seems pleased to see them: "two for one." Isaac has the two of them in bad shape. An unseen man shoots him from behind a partially closed door.Rosen and Dani argue about her past. He gives her an injection of a legal drug she's been taking. Rosen apologizes for what happened to her boyfriend and says he needs to know why Isaac was chasing her. Rosen is pulled out of the room by Sullivan (Valerie Cruz).Sullivan tells Rosen they've learned Red Flag is doing something the following morning.Gary finds information about Parish on the cloud drive. He was a scientist who died in the 1970s. He wrote extensively about alphas.Dani tells Rosen that Isaac was after a necklace she had. She thought it was made of rubies. It turned out to be glass.Gary visits Anna. She mentions a quote Gary sent him from Parish. She tells him he's a very dangerous man. When Gary points out she's using present tense to describe a man who died decades ago, she tells him he needs to leave.Rosen tells Dani he's a different guy than he was 15 years ago. She complains he used to manipulate her into bringing her mother tea when she was upset. Dani thinks it was taking advantage of her abilities as an empath.Gary tells Rosen about the meeting with Anna. He's discovered Stanton Parish has been alive for more than 100 years, seeming not to have aged in that time. A writing of his called "A Call for Change" is considered the Red Flag playbook.Rachel (Azita Ghanizada) figured out inside the necklace is a jump drive. On the drive is encoded language from Anna containing a map and a time -- it's an invitation to a meeting of some kind. It contains a quote from Parish, meaning this is a meeting called by the leader.Sullivan explains some of the tactical plan to move in on the meeting. Gary is worried about Anna, so Hicks says he'll look out for him. Bill also wants to participate.Rosen tells Dani the guys at this meeting are responsible for Will's death. He tells her she was right -- he had used her and her powers to try and save his marriage.Approximately 30 Red Flag officers -- including Anna and her bodyguards -- show up for the meeting. The Alphas observe from afar and listen to the meeting. Rachel says they are talking about going public and telling the truth about Alphas. Rosen grabs Sullivan and tells her he thinks Parish wants to sabotage the meeting. He doesn't think the tactical team should go in. She doesn't listen.Gas is fired into the meeting. Gary starts to panic and runs towards the building. We see Bill and Hicks fight a few of the Red Flag alphas with similar skillsets. When a member of the tactical team is killed, an all-out battle begins. Bill takes a bullet in his vest. His powers seem to return. Gary finds Anna. It looks as if she has been killed. In the aftermath, Gary blames himself for not being able to save Anna. The team doesn't seem to think it knows what it's doing. Rosen doesn't agree, telling them they followed their hearts.Sullivan tells Rosen the mission was "a win" and if Parish exists they'll get him. She says they've crippled Red Flag. The "powers that be" would like a meeting with Rosen in a week to discuss future strategy.Rosen and Dani have dinner. She says he can't imagine what he put her through. He says he wants her to do her thing and show him what he put her through. She takes his hand and shows him. Rosen is emotional.Parish shows up at Rosen's place while the doctor is taking a few laps in the pool. Parish says he operates best in the dark. Parish says he's beyond alpha, possessing complete mind/body connection. Parish thinks he's wasting his time and says he can get Rosen close to complete understanding with respect to alphas. He tells him to think about it.Rosen speaks before Congress about Red Flag. He says the situation has become unstable. Red Flag's leader is still out there. He tells them Binghamton is part of the problem. He tells them if they keep alphas in secret it will play into Parish's hands. Rosen calls for transparency and says alphas exist. He is cut off.Parish and Dani are watching this together. She tells him "I warned you."The season ends with the transmission being terminated.
1Wake Up Call
23 Jul 2012Description ▼
We open with Rosen speaking with a therapist in a mental health facility where he has been a resident for the past eight months. He's there because he exposed the Alphas and we see the wall of his cell is covered with articles.
Hicks and Harken are working with Clay to catch criminal Alphas. We see them undercover in a grocery store attempting to stop a robbery ring. They nab one of the Alphas, but the other two are able to leave out the back and get into a car. For some reason Cameron has issues using his power and misses a shot to take out their vehicle.
Back in the office we see Harken is having anxiety issues. They talk about the fact Gary has disappeared from a chat room where he regularly contributed. He was assigned to the NSA, which they view as a mistake.
Rachel is having a particularly tough time with her alpha power. She is unable to shut out the world and hasn't left her room for months.
Nina is "pushing" average people on the streets. We see her convince a man to share a cab with her.
Hicks and Harken bring the woman from the robbery to Binghamton. Looking down on the floor they talk about how the alphas are controlled with a chip in their head. They are stunned to spot Gary, who has the tell-tale scar on the back of his neck. We learn that Gary panicked at the NSA when somebody tried to touch him. Clay tried to help him, but he put two agents in the hospital and there was no choice.
Rosen's daughter visits him in the hospital, using her power to take the edge off his sedatives. He tells her that he's confident he'll eventually be released. Rosen thinks Stanton Parrish will so something dramatic and he'll be needed.
While her chip is being inserted, the alpha from the robbery, Debra, uses her power to short out the building's electricity and get into the system. She begins disabling the alpha's chips and they are able to get the jump on the guards. Harken grabs Gary and tries to carry him out of the ward, but he's stopped by an alpha named Asher and tossed into a cell with Gary.
Debra is dating an alpha named Scipio, who seems to be the leader. She tells him there was a failsafe door she couldn't get passed. Scipio begins negotiating with Clay. Scipio demonstrates they are capable of killing their hostages, forcing one to turn a gun on himself and begin pulling the trigger. The safety was on but the message is received. Scipio says "there's only one person I'm willing to negotiate with."
Cut to Clay telling Rosen "there's been an incident."
We see Rosen collecting the rest of the team. He helps get Rachel out of her room and pulls Nina away from the man she was pushing. They both are willing to help Gary.
Harken tries to apologize to Gary, but so far he's not saying anything.
Rosen and the women arrive at Binghamton. His plan is to go inside alone and have Rachel, Nina and Hicks help from the outside. If there is trouble they will come in to help.
After being roughed up by Asher, Scipio welcomes him the "monkey house" with a handshake. With Rachel listening, Scipio talks to Rosen about how they've been treated inside. Scipio asks about them being "mistakes" and wonders if he can turn off the ability from his brains.
Gary is now talking to Harken, thought not about anything important.
Rosen finds it strange Scipio seems so calm under the circumstances and asks whether or not he is employing a delaying tactic. Debra tells Scipio "we're ready."
The monitors fizzle out briefly. When they return, Hicks and the team are stunned to watch a hostage shot and Scipio use his powers to set Rosen on fire. But Rachel thinks something isn't right, as she can't smell and burning from the fire or hear any yelling. Nina tells Hicks "it is all fake," just as he finds Debra using her power to project a fact image on the monitor.
Asher has used the distraction to break through a wall and the alphas are all free. Rosen is left alone, but Harken and Gary are placed in a truck. With some coaching from Rosen, Hicks is about to fire a shot that disables the truck and flips it over. Gary and Harken are fine and Asher is unconscious, but Scipio is gone.
Clay tells Rosen he needs him to put his team back together and fix the Binghamton mistake. He's being offered a full pardon, along with a consulting fee. Rosen agrees on the condition he gets full control.
The team is back together. Gary is unable to interact with anybody. Rosen points out Gary's routine and helps him make a call to his mother. Gary is back and the rest of the team is falling into their old roles. In his office Rosen glances down at Parrish' file.
Cut to Parrish meeting with Rosen's daughter. She is working with him and was behind Rosen being released. They watch as a train derails and explodes.
2The Quick and the Dead
30 Jul 2012Description ▼
Open with an Alpha using super speed to go into a restaurant and pull out a man against his will. It seems as if the man being taken was a doctor.
Cut to Hicks and Rosen's daughter Danielle having sex. Afterwards they seem to agree perhaps it's best not to tell anybody.
We see Gary freaking out about something related to pudding and his shelf in the community fridge. Rosen asks Clay about the train crash, which destroyed large amounts of various kinds of supplies. Rosen wonders who might have benefited. Clay says the FBI is looking at it as an accident. Rosen tells him it reeks of Parrish.
The alphas team investigates the abduction we saw in the opening. Gary spots a blur on the video and they realize they're looking for somebody who moves at ten times normal human speed. Gary finds him five blocks away and they realize they are looking for somebody who uses calories at an unbelievable rate.
Rachel helps them track the guy to an abandoned meat plant where they find the body of the man abducted from the restaurant.
The prints found with the dead body are of an Alpha named Eli. Looking at Eli's records we see that he's aging at an accelerated rate, but doesn't have a history of violence.
Gary is using his powers to read Hicks' text messages and almost spills the beans about a personal message he got from Danielle.
Rosen tells Nina she needs to get her life back in order, starting with her showing up to work on time.
They interview the woman who was sitting at the table with the man abducted at the restaurant. She didn't recognize Eli.
Gary learns that Eli has taken another person. They are able to alert Hicks and Harken, who get there in time to save him from killing the man. He takes off and Harken gives chase. He nearly catches him, but it seems his bum heart costs him speed at the end.
The man who Eli grabbed was a doctor. He says Eli complained about his care, but the doctor doesn't recall ever treating him. It turns out both he and the doctor Eli has already killed did controversial brain wave experiments on children at the same clinic.
Danielle sits with Parrish at the deathbed of and elderly woman. She is the 31st of his grandchildren to die. He asks her about Rosen. Parris thinks Rosen needs to "get there on his own." He also asks about Hicks, and says he hopes that they will be able to remain friends.
Cut to Danielle tearfully breaking up with Hicks.
Rosen tells Harken he wants them to use the doctor as bait. He thinks the team will be able to catch Eli, but Harken is worried the team isn't much of a team right now. They argue about why exactly the team broke apart, with Harken saying Rosen was being selfish. Rosen says if he feels that strongly he should leave and Harken does just that.
Nina apologizes to Hicks for using her abilities on him. She wants them to pick up their relationship and he says he's seeing somebody. She uses her power to compel him to tell her who this new person is. Nina goes to her office and slams the door.
While staking out the doctor Gary spills the beans on Danielle to Harken.
After Rachel leaves to join the stakeout, Eli zips into the office and asks Rosen to help him. Rosen says he'll do whatever he can, so long as Eli trusts him.
During the stakeout Rachel asks Hicks about Danielle.
After spotting his picture on a table, Eli tells Rosen that Parris ran the clinic he saw as a child.
Worried about her father, Danielle calls Hicks to say she's worried. Eli grabs the phone out of her hand and throws it against the wall.
The team rushes to Rosen's aid with Gary helping them along the way.
Eli takes Rosen to the site of the clinic, but find it no longer exists. Police surround the area and Eli grabs Rosen and takes him away. Eli holds a knife to his throat. Danielle arrives and uses her ability to help Eli slow down. At that exact moment a gunshot rings out and Eli drop to the ground. Nobody is sure who took the shot.
A following day Clay is in the office and we learn that the shooter is still a mystery. Rosen and Harken asks for more space for their team. After Clay leaves Rosen tells Harken that he did let them down and needs to make it up to the team.
Danielle tells Parrish she wants to be with Hicks. He gives his approval, but tells her to be careful.
At a team meeting Rosen tells the gang the government will no longer have access to their daily work. He tells them about the connection between Eli and Parrish.
Parrish hugs his granddaughter, then uses his hand to smother her and put her out of her misery.
Rosen finds Nina drinking by herself at a bar. She says "I'm done." On her way out of the bar she tells him "Hicks is nailing your daughter." She uses her ability to get him to accept the fact she's never coming back.

We see that Gary screams bloody murder before breakfast. His tells Rosen about the problem, saying she thinks he came back to work too soon and needs to talk to somebody.
Rachel is having issues with her over-protective parents. We meet John Bennett, who is going to be the team's new head of tactical. Rachel is bothered by his heavy use of body spray.
The team examines the body of Jack Duffy, a Building 7 escapee who appears to have had acid spit in his face. He was in a fight and then dropped off the side of a building. There is a number on his hand.
Following the number leads Harken and the team to an address in a bad neighborhood. Inside he and Hicks find what appears to be a fight club of some kind. The pretend to have been invited.
Rachel tells Bennett she has to get away from his smell, but as soon as she leaves the car she calls Hicks to tell him she smells the acid from Duffy's face. She follows the aroma and finds a man with an acid scar on his face. He's waiting for the man who did it to him, someone named Bazevich.
Harken is asked to participate in a fight and is told he must fight as a first-timer. During the fight a woman in the crowd tells Hicks that all the fighters are alphas. The one Harken is fighting is able to make his opponent see two and three versions of himself. Harken is not faring well.
Gary analyzes the black-and-white picture of a Civil War Major named Jacob who was treated at New York hospital by a Dr. Harrison. Rosen asks about the screaming and Gary says he doesn't want to talk about it. He mentions Anna being killed.
After the fight Bennett tells Harken about Bazevich, who they know is a fighter. The woman who talked to Hicks, named Kat, helps Harken get invited back for the next fight.
Gary tells his mother he's moving out. He thinks that Rosen's advice for Rachel should also apply to him. Rosen advises he stay home from that work.
The alpha fight still seems like the best way to find Bazevich.
Cut to Kat working with Harken on his training, taking him through the talents of the various fighters.
Bennett brings Rachel a pile of different soaps, asking her to choose how he smells.
Kat thinks that Harken is fighting who he really is by not amping up. She says when he needs his power it will be there. Then without realizing what's happening Harken destroys the room with his bare hands.
At New York hospital Rosen is told Harrison's files are still in the records Harrison treated Jacob, describing him surviving a bullet wound to the middle of his forehead. We flashback to Harrison experimenting with Jacob's ability to heal from injuries. Rosen tells Hicks he thinks Jacob is Stanton Parrish. Hicks tells Rosen about the relationship with his daughter.
Harken's wife stops by to see him at work. He tells her how good he feels and the two start fooling around in his office.
Gary wants to live in the office. Rosen tells his mother they need to support him in his independence.
Kat tells Harken there will be a ton of people with deep pockets at the fights that night. He asks her about Bazevich, but she doesn't know much. She tells him she only remembers things for a month.
Rosen finds a news article related to Harrison being murdered. We flash back to Parrish stopping Harrison before he's to give a presentation about his abilities. When Harrison refuses to keep it to himself, Parrish kills him.
Harken knocks out his first opponent of the night with one punch. Su
In the car Rachel smells something strange. Two people get out of an SUV which she thinks smells like Bazevich.
Kat wants to be the next person to fight Harken. With her kickboxing background and recent research she's done on how to fight, she wins the fight. Afterwards the people from the SUV want Kat to help them with a job. She leaves in their vehicle and the team follows.
At the location Rachel can hear that Kat is being prepped for something. Harken goes in to try and help her. He uses a soda machine to get past four armed men and finds a room full of stretchers. Kat seems okay. One of the stretchers contains a very dead Bozevich. It seems to be a place where alphas are experimented on. Kat seems very interested in joining Rosen's team.
Rachel and Bennett seems to be hitting it off. She hints at a date, but he doesn't think it would be appropriate.
Parrish finds Rosen at a diner. He says Harrison was killed because he tried to "use me." Parrish says he wants to stop the bloodshed. Rosen references his background in cellular research.
Gary's mother helps him move in to his new bedroom at the office. He tells her he'll call her in the morning.
We see Harken return to the fight club looking for a fight.

Open with Nina flashing back to her childhood and using her powers to prevent her father from leaving home.
A man named Lewis walks down the street in his pajamas with he thinks is a baby. He ends up getting tased by police officers and we see that it was actually a bag of cash.
Harken and Rachel come into the office to find Gary on his way from the shower. He tells them about Rosen letting him stay in the office until he finds an apartment. Bennett pops his head in and says he needs to talk to Rosen.
Kat tells Rosen she wants to try out for the team. Her power is an ability to learn complex concepts in a matter of hours, though the tradeoff is she has no long-term memory. But he is just interested in finding a way to counteract her memory loss. Bennett tells Rosen "I've got another one for you." Rosen gives Kat a video camera.
Bennett tells Rosen about Lewis, who tried to steal $500,000 from the bank where he works, thinking he was saving a baby. The thinking is that Nina responsible for Lewis, along with two similar theft-type incidents. Rosen thinks they need to bring her in for her own safety. Hicks isn't sure if he should be involved in bringing her in, but Rosen convinces him to do "whatever it takes."
Rachel thinks Bennett was lying about not wanting to date her because they work together. He tells he that two years ago he suffered a war wound. He shows it to her and she covers her nose. Bennett leaves the room.
Rachel and Hicks go to a club they know Nina likes. Rachel finds her in a VIP area and asks her to see Rosen. Nina isn't interested. Nina uses her power to get Rachel to make out with her. Hick shows up and meets Nina's new boyfriend Tommy. Nina uses her power to convince Hicks to carry Rachel out of the club.
Rosen uses medication to pull Hicks out from Nina's spell. Nina's powers have grown since she left the team. They talk about Tommy being somebody from Nina's childhood. Rosen thinks Nina's use and dependence on her ability is similar to that of a drug addict.
In another Nina childhood flashback we see her meeting Tommy. They bond because both of their parents are always fighting. In present day we see Nina tell Tommy she's worried she screwed up.
Hicks and Harken pay Tommy's ex Becky a visit. He's left her and their child and she's happy to be rid of him.
During a flashback we see Nina telling Tommy about her ability to control people. Back then it only lasted a few minutes. In present day Tommy tells Nina he thinks they should leave the country and get married.
Rosen watches old video of session with Nina. Kat comes in with her video camera rolling. She's heard about Nina from Gary. Clay pays Rosen a visit to ask about the about the Building 7 escapees. Rosen doesn't tell him what is going on with Nina.
Hicks and Gary give Rosen a lead on Nina's whereabouts. Because of Clay's pressure Rosen tells them they'll have to put Nina on hold.
Becky stops and tells the team on second thought she's not happy Tommy is gone. Rachel thinks Nina pushed her before the first interview. The team again tells Rosen they want to go after Nina and he says they can't. Rachel realizes Rosen was pushed by Nina.
During another childhood flashback Nina comes home to find her father sitting at home instead of at work. Since Nina pushed him into not leaving home he believed he had to stay in the building. She fixes her mistake.
Before Nina can leave town the guys arrest Tommy. He tells them he loves Nina and doesn't think she's actually in trouble. Rosen brings Becky and Tommy's son in to see him.
Rosen and Rachel leave Tommy's room and run into a gun-wielding Hicks and Nina. Nina gets rid of Rachel and goes into Tommy's room. Tommy looks angry and Rosen says that Nina's been pushing him the entire time. There never was a relationship. Nina realizes that it's true, even recalling childhood when Tommy wanted to tell somebody what she was doing to her father.
Outside Nina pushes Hicks into helping her escape, getting him to shoot Bennett in the shoulder.
On the roof Hicks and Harken get into a standoff. Rosen arrives and tries to talk Nina down. She climbs to the edge of the roof and talks about what happened with her, Tommy and her father. We see that her father killed himself. She says she's tired of hurting people and jumps off the roof. Fortunately Hicks springs into action and does the Hicks thing, shooting free a cable so he can dive off the edge and grab her. Harken pulls the two of them to safety.
Harken talks to Kat about the importance of memories. She starts listening to some of Rosen's old records.
Bennett asks Rachel out. He says he's sensitive, telling her he hasn't been with anyone since his injury.
Clay allows Nina to be released into Rosen's custody. Hicks is sitting outside Nina's room. Nina tells Rosen "I'm dangerous." But Rosen pulls back her blindfolds and sits down next her.

Open with a man named Adam at the morgue identifying his sister's body. As he's walked away he hears his sister's voice and sees that she's alive. He battles security to get to her, even crawling along the ceiling at one point. Adam then snaps out of it and sees his sister was dead the entire time.
Nina drops by to see Rosen after hours. He tells her he wants to take a different approach with her recovery. Parrish has a charity that has made several sizeable donations to a New York senator. Rosen wants her to look into the senator.
Hicks' son is not coming to visit him as planned. Harken tells him he's been going to the fight club. Rachel is having trouble accepting Nina as part of the team.
Adam's video made its way onto YouTube, so the team is aware of what happened.
Nina uses her power to get the senator to tell her what she did in return for donations from Parrish's foundation. But the senator can't tell her anything specific, saying the information is "gone."
Rosen tells Adam he thinks intense grief was responsible for him seeing his sister alive and wants to send him to a clinic. Harken and Hicks will escort him to the facility.
In the elevator Adam begins to hear his sister calling for him. He tells the orderly he needs to get off and escapes through the top of the car and up the shaft.
Gary attends Anna's funeral with Rachel. Gary makes a scene and as Rachel leaves her phone rings.
Rachel and Gary arrive at the hospital to help the guys find Adam. While she guides them to Adam, Gary gets a tap on his shoulder. It's Anna. But since she's talking he realizes something is up. A custodian tells him nobody is there. The Anna hallucination begins to break up.
Nina tells Rosen about the senator. He thinks she might still be able to retrieve the information using other methods. For practice he has Nina try and retrieve old information from Kat, who is undergoing a sleep study in the office. Using Kat's sensory memory Nina seems to be able to get the process started but starts having trouble.
The image of Anna keeps disappearing and reforming, following Gary up the stairs.
Rachel takes Harken to the room where she believes Adam is located. But she turns around and finds Harken is gone. Adam is on the ceiling and jumps down on top of her.
We see that Hicks and Harken are unable to find Rachel.
At the airport to meet the senator Rosen asks Nina about what happened to her during the session with Kat. She says she's fine.
Harken calls Gary about not being able to find Rachel.
Nina works on the senator. She gets a few tidbits before she's pulled away for her flight, including something about August.
Harken sees lights flashing as he looks for Rachel. Hicks has visions of his son.
Adam is with Rachel, believing she is his sister. She escapes and runs to an elevator. She carves "I'm drowning" into the elevator wall. We see Adam at a sink, under the impression he's saving somebody who is drowning. A hand pulls him into the water.
Harken runs into Gary, who tells him about Anna. Hicks thinks he is seeing his son being put into a morgue chamber. Harken finds Adam's body facedown in the sink.
While with Anna, Gary sees a tray full of instruments moving. He has discovered a certain kind of sonic frequency is causing the disturbances, but isn't sure what is causing it.
Rosen arrives and Harken tells him what is going on. Gary tells Rosen about the frequency, which has a dramatic impact on people's brains. Gary recorded Anna's signal and after making a few modifications they are able to hear "I'm drowning."
Rachel is at a pool, thinking she sees Nina drowning at the bottom. Hicks thinks he's been operated on. Harken sees himself and the two Harkens begin to fight.
Gary finds a 16-year old patient in a vegetative state named Jason in the hospital who might be the one communicating. Rosen leaves to look for him. Gary meets up with Anna and the two find him first. Rosen arrives but Gary won't let him in, saying that if they wake Jason up he'll lose Anna. Rosen tries to explain to him that Anna isn't real. Anna advises him to save Jason and Gary lets Rosen in. Rosen injects Jason with a medication and immediately all of the hallucinations cease.
Rachel had been underwater for some time and Harken rushes to her, eventually able to get her breathing.
Rosen asks Jason what he remembers. He can't think of anything. Rosen sees that they are using a new photic stimulator on the comatose patients. It is manufactured by "August Medical."
Hicks shows up unannounced to see his son and spend some time with him.
Kat teaches herself to draw and seems to be sketching someone from her past.
Gary tells Rosen that August sent the devices to thousands of hospitals across the country. After Rosen leaves Gary gets a message from @AnnaLives which says "The revolution is coming."

Open with Rosen and Harken looking at the machine and comparing it to experiments run by the Department of Defense decades earlier. The device enhanced the kid in the hospital's alpha ability and Parish made a point to get it fast-tracked through the FDA. The plan is to take the device to Skyler Adams.
We see Rachel on a date with Bennett. It seems awkward.
Rosen wants the entire team to join him on the trip to visit Skyler. This includes Nina and some members of the team are uncertain about her. Immediately after Hicks hangs up with Dani she sends someone a text informing them the team is on its way.
The team drives to a remote area. They are stopped by two alphas who want them to turn around. Skyler shows up, but she isn't interested in having visitors. She allows them to stay only after Rosen reminds her the risk he took on her behalf with the NSA.
Skyler is living on what seems to be a colony for displaced alphas.
Skyler looks at the device but doesn't find anything unusual. Skyler's daughter is a alpha with a gift for math and numbers and she's a handful for her mother. Rosen does well with Zoe.
Gary and Harken run into Claude, who is the founder of the alpha colony. Gary has been frustrated by the lack of electromagnetic signals, but Claude points out the number of naturally-found signals.
Skyler and Rose discuss raising an alpha child. Claude isn't happy to see Rosen, seemingly very aware of who he is.
Gary and Harken stare into the sky. Gary is fascinated by a star. He's seeing what looks like a aurora borealis. While the two look up a man stands behind them with a switchblade.
The man with the knife is one of several alphas watching the colony. They appear to be there on Parish's behalf, trying to get the device.
Skyler talks to Nina about trying to a responsible mother. She says she's only at the colony for Zoe. Nina tells her about the team not being sure about her return.
Claude tells Rosen why he doesn't care for him. He doesn't think Rosen should have spoken on their behalf.
On his way back from dinner one of the colony alphas jumps Rosen. He has powers related to electricity and he does something to the device with his hand. People come to the rescue and Claude tells the team he wants them to leave the following day.
The next morning Rachel works on the device with Skyler. They find a tiny circuit board embedded on some of the wires. Skyler wants more time to look at it, but Rosen says they need to leave. Zoe overhears Skyler say that things were "so much easier when I was alone" and runs away. The device begins to malfunction and zaps Rachel in the face. She falls to the ground.
Gary tells Skyler he wants to stay at the colony.
Harken carries Rachel to the car as the team prepares to leave.
While looking for Zoe in the woods Skyler runs into Parish's henchmen, one of whom is Scipio. They have Zoe and want the device back.
The team is in the van waiting for Rosen so they can leave. Gary doesn't want to come with them and runs off.
Rosen returns to Skyler's cabin and finds the machine gone and one of Zoe's toys sitting on the table.
Skyler confronts Scipio in a barn. Rosen arrives and uses the device to knock Scipio to the ground, allowing them to escape.
Rachel's alphas powers have been increased by the device and she's able to hear Zoe's cries.
Hicks and Harken enter the building where Zoe is being held.
We see Scipio wake up. His powers have also been increased and flames are literally dripping from his hands. He sets the barn on fire as he walks out.
Hicks finds Zoe with one of Parish's alphas. The two fight, with the woman getting the better of him, eventually cutting him on the leg with a saw. Harken comes in and saves the day. Skyler arrives and they tell her Zoe is in the basement. They find her safe and sound, but by this point Scipio arrives and sets the stairwell on fire. They look doomed, but Skyler uses her alpha power to conceptualize a way to make a fire extinguisher out of materials in the basement.
By this point most of the colony is on fire.
Skyler builds the extinguisher with help from Zoe and they are able to get themselves out of the basement. The team leaves the colony.
Parrish runs into Skyler and Zoe at a restaurant. He apologizes for the behavior of his men and offers her a chance to help him "make the world a better place."
Back at home Bennett comforts Rachel with an origami bird. She says "you get me" and the two begin to kiss.
Dani apologizes to Hicks for what happened to him and it looks as if she feels guilty.
Harken and Rose wonder how Parish knew they were going to be at Skyler's. He wants to keep the investigation hush-hush. The camera focuses on Dani as the episode ends.
7Gods and Monsters
10 Sep 2012Description ▼
Open with Rosen and Nina in DC. Nina uses her power on Senator Burton to get some information and afterwards the woman stands in traffic and is nearly killed.
We see the teenager named Jason from the hospital at a dance. He is striking out with a girl until he uses a power that seems similar to Nina's, and has dozens of kids in a zombie-like state doing his bidden. It seems to involve him touching the person he manipulates.
Kat has become a full member of the team. The team talks about Jason's case and then interviews two of the students who were at the dance. Both say they don't know Jason.
Harken gives Rose an update on the process of checking to see if anybody on the team is responsible for the leaks to Parish.
Looking at the brain activity of the two kids, Rosen thinks Jason's powers have been magnified. He's able to create a "hive mind" situation, controlling large amounts of people simultaneously.
Parish and Dani talk about her father. She's upset by how much she's had to risk, given that Rosen doesn't seem any closer to their side.
Rosen is unable to restore the normal brain activity of the two kids. Nina attempts to help and finds their brains muddled. They need to find Jason if there is any chance of breaking the connection.
Rosen finds Jason at his school. While he speaks with Rosen a flock of students begin following him in the hall. Rosen wants to run some tests, but Jason declines. Rosen says he's worried Jason might be hurting his friends and Jason gets a security guard to pull his gun on Rosen. Parish shows up and knocks the guard aside, telling Rosen "we should talk."
Parish tells Rosen he is partly to blame because he interrupted Jason's treatment. He wants Rosen to step in and save him and asks him to join him in the car to see some test results. Rosen declines, but Parish directs a threat at Dani and he quickly changes his mind.
We see Burton doing a TV interview. She begins acting very strangely and Nina is worried.
Parish shows Rosen the brain scan of Jason's mother. It is filed with hematomas and Rosen says she'll die if not brought quickly to the hospital. It seems that everybody "connected" to Jason will eventually die if the connection isn't broken.
Nina wants to show Burton's doctors a file with clues as to what it happening to her. The file doesn't have anything incriminating, but Rachel thinks it's a risk. She calls Rosen on the phone and doesn't like the way his voice sounds.
Parish says his goal was for Jason to wake from his coma with more control. Parish wants Nina to go into Jason's mind, thinking it won't be as dangerous because he can help her navigate. Rosen tells the team to begin looking for Jason.
Cut to Jason fooling around with a girl from his school. He has her begin to undress, then decides he wants her to actually want to be doing it. She doesn't and he seems bothered by the situation. Hicks, Harken and Rachel arrive at Jason's house. The first floor is filled with his "friends." Hicks tells Jason they're there to help him and he sounds okay with the idea. But outside Jason changes his mind and the kids under his control start to protect him. Jason runs and is eventually caught by Hicks and Gary. They throw him in a car and speed off.
Parish gives Nina advice as to how best to attack Jason's brain in order to break his control. Afterwards he's brought to a holding area by Hicks and Harken. On the way past Gary, Parish suggests that Rosen may have been part of the reason Anna was killed.
Rosen has picked up on the fact Parish was trying to recruit him. He realizes Jason was used as bait.
Jason tells Rosen he doesn't want to break his hold on the kids, because if he does he'll be alone.
Parish cuts his own throat while in custody.
Rosen tells Jason what is happening to the kids under his control, but Jason doesn't believe him. He says he wants to leave and all of the kids arrive to help him.
Parish uses his fake death to get the jump on two security guards and get out of his holding cell
Hicks and Harken let the kids into the facility in order to keep them from hurting themselves. Jason is missing and Rosen realizes Parish must be connected.
Rosen finds that Jason has brought Parish into his collective. To help him, Rosen asks that he be brought in as well. Jason's collective looks like the dance. Parish is taking people away from Jason and bringing them under his control. Rosen manages to convince Jason to set everybody free. During this process Rosen and Parish look arms and Rosen gets a window into Parish thoughts.
The kids are set free. Rosen wakes up and helps Jason to his feet. Parish is gone.
Nina and Rachel seems to be connecting again as friends. Nina is going to take her file to Burton's doctor.
In Hicks' office Rosen sees one of Dani's newest paintings. He recognizes it from Parish's mind and seems to be putting everything together.
17 Sep 2012Description ▼
Open with some kids taking a drug and then jumping of a roof. Apparently the pill makes them impervious to any physical harm.
Rosen meets with Clay and asks him about the investigation into the mole. He's clearly concerned about Dani being discovered.
The team watches video of the kids jumping from the roof. Harken is put in charge and he tasks Gary with looking into the possibility alphas are involved.
Rachel and John are going to dinner with her parents. She's nervous.
Rosen gives Gary a secret mission.
Hicks's son Tyler comes to town for a visit. He introduces him to Dani.
Gary finds pictures of Kat hanging out with Dylan, who seems to be the mastermind behind the drugs. The drug is called Jump. Dylan's having a party that night and Kat wants to go see him.
It's clear when they meet that Kat and Dylan had a romantic history, though she obviously doesn't remember. She ends up taking a Jump pill and jumping off the roof with Dylan.
Harken is upset with Kat, but she is proud of herself for getting the drug in her blood stream.
Gary cracks the code, pulling out a number of phone numbers from Parish' phone that the NSA were looking into. Rosen asks him to pull out active New York area numbers.
Hicks talks to Dani about being concerned Tyler might be an alpha.
Rachel looks at Kat's blood and gets a sense of what is in the drug. Unfortunately several users of Jump have died recently of heart-related issues.
Rosen pays Dani a visit. They make some small talk and when she's in the other room he cross-references numbers on her phone with what Gary found. It seems to be proof for Rosen that she is the mole.
Clay tells Rosen that he's stepped up the manpower on the investigation.
Rachel tells Nina she's cancelled the dinner with her parents. She seems concerned that her parents might like John and she won't be ready for a relationship.
Kat has a meal with Dylan. She seems to like him. Kat doesn't want Harken to arrest Dylan. She thinks she can get a confession out of him on her own.
Hicks has Tyler play baseball, seemingly to see if he might be an alpha. Tyler hates it and wants to go home.
Kat gets Gary to help her see Dylan.
Rosen asks Nina if she can get a passport under a false name. He hands her a picture of Dani.
Dani returns home to find Hicks trying to convince Tyler to stay. She sits Tyler down and tells him she's an alpha. She uses her power to show Hicks and Tyler how each other has been feeling.
Rosen tells Nina what's happened and says he wants to get Dani someplace where Clay and Parish can't find her. Nina thinks Rosen should let Clay do his job.
Kat gives Dylan a head's up that he's about to be arrested. He's furious that she betrayed him. In the back of his apartment Kat finds that he's been using the blood of an alpha to make the pills. Kat tries to rescue the woman, but Dylan knocks her down and leaves with the alpha. Kat takes one of the pills and uses it to jump off the roof and onto Dylan's car. She pulls him out of the vehicle and beats him senseless.
At the airport Dani gets a text from Parish to meet somebody at a park
Kat is upset they weren't able to make anything stick with Dylan. Harken cheers her up and tells her he's signed her up for the FBI academy.
Rosen meets Dani at the park. He was the one who sent the message. They argue and eventually Clay and John arrive on scene with guns drawn. Rosen says he needs her to be safe.
Hicks is furious with Rosen for turning in Dani. He yells that Rosen was "supposed to protect her."
Rosen goes to see Dani in custody. She asks him if she can be put in Building 7. She says she wants to forget. Rosen tells her there is a way out.
9The Devil Will Drag You Under
24 Sep 2012Description ▼
Open with Rosen flashing to a conversation with Dani. She signs a plea agreement saying she will become a spy for the government.
We then see Rosen tell the team that he's having trouble reaching Dani and is worried she's in trouble. He clearly never told the rest of the team about Dani's deal and Hicks is furious that he put her in harm's way. It was the only way to keep her out of Building 7, but Hicks thinks it was too risky.
TWO WEEKS LATER
We see what looks like a theft of some kind. The team is there to stop and it seems like Hicks is in the crime.
Hicks has left the team and the gang isn't sure why, though they suspect it's Dani-related.
We see Hicks with Scipio.
What was stolen was a type of electric grenade capable of killing hundreds of people in one detonation. Rosen tells the team finding these grenades is job No. 1, even ahead of finding Hicks and Dani.
Back to Hicks telling asking Scipio for a face-to-face with Parish, feeling like he deserves it for helping get his "little toys." Scipio says that first Hicks will have to do something. He is introduced to Agnes, who ties him to a chair and says that when she touches someone it "rips open their mind." She touches his head and he begins screaming. She sees images of Hicks interacting with Dani.
Harken asks Gary to look into the robbery.
Hicks finally gets his audience with Parish, who says it's not possible for him to see Dani right now. Parish says he's keeping Dani safe until he's sure where her loyalties lie. He adds "welcome aboard, Mr. Hicks."
Rosen tells Nina that whatever happens to Dani and Hicks, "it's my responsibility."
Parish tell Dani about having Hicks. She asks him not to hurt him, and he says he's there to give her one last chance to change his mind. He's talking about wiping the slate clean, essentially killing lots of people. She says she's with him, but he needs to know for sure and says Agnes will be calling on her.
Harken and Gary have realized that Nina helped Hicks get away from the robbery.
Parish tells Agnes he needs to know what Dani told her father. Before Agnes can begin Hicks break in and stops her. Agnes needs to know how she didn't see what he was up to and touches his face. We see Nina helped disguise his true plans from Agnes. Agnes is so impressed she gives them a ten-minute head start. Outside Dani tells Hicks that Parish owns a shipping company, which will probably be part of his plan.
Rosen tells the team that Parish is planning some of sort of device that will combine all of the grenades.
Dani and Hicks are grabbed by Scipio and one of his buddies. An alpha comes in and whispers something to Hicks, which causes him to grab a gun and place it under his own chin. At this moment Harken, Nina and Rachel arrive to save the day, though Scipio manages to escape.
Hicks chases Scipio down, disabling his van using a motorcycle. The grenade has been turned into an IED of some kind. With the bomb squad running late Gary works to turn off the power, which should limit the bomb's power. In order to buy even more time Dani calls Parish and tells him she's standing next to the bomb. While they talk, Parish's assistant notices the grid being shut down. With Dani now alone in the van, Parish detonates the device.
The bomb doesn't serve its full purpose, but Parish says "It did what we needed. It has begun."
Rosen rushes to Dani, who is barely conscious. She struggles for breath and Rosen tells her he loves her. Nina tries to help, but it's too late. Dani dies.
10Life After Death
01 Oct 2012Description ▼
We open with Rosen choosing a coffin for Dani.
The team processes what has happened. Clay shows up with his team, looking for intel. They head right for Rosen's office and nobody is happy about it. Clay asks the alphas team to help him pull together information.
John stops by to see Rachel. He gives his condolences and she asks him to "take me home."
A woman stops by the office with a baby looking for Rosen. She says she can't come back later and leaves the baby with Gary.
Hicks asks Nina to push him into forgetting Dani. She won't do it.
Gary shows everybody the baby, with whom he seems to be connecting rather well.
Rosen goes to Dani's place to look around. While looking through her stuff, Rosen's flashes to his statement to Clay about what happened with his daughter.
Rachel and John start to fool around. Rachel doesn't look happy.
Gary tells Harken the woman told him the baby was "special. Hicks rips Clay for not taking care of Parish sooner. Clay drops the bomb that Rosen invited them into the department.
Gary finds online that the woman who dropped off the baby was Magda Ryan. Jane and Brian Kessler arrive, claiming to the parents of baby Adam. Harken asks for some ID and they say the Ryan woman took Adam because she thought he was an alpha and wanted Rosen to examine him.
Following sex, neither Rachel nor John look especially happy.
Wtill in Dani's room he recalls talking to Clay about Dani's covert work. Rosen talks about Parish.
Gary continues to related with baby Adam on some level. Harken comes in to get the baby and Gary tells him no, pushing him out of the room and locking the door. Harken and Nina try to talk some sense into Gary, who thinks it's suspicious that Brian and Jane don't have anything other than driver's licenses.
Clay tells Harken that their department will be HQ for the Parish investigation.
Rachel and John have coffee and talk about why the sex wasn't great. John thinks it felt like Rachel was distant. She tells him that her first time was overwhelming because of all the senses. She mentions that he hid his scars. He talks about his ex and they start to kiss. At this moment her father walks in. It seems to bother them and they go back to it after he leaves.
Hicks finds Rosen in Dani's place. Hicks is upset that Clay is in charge of the investigation and Rosen isn't doing enough to find Dani's killer.
Harken tells Brian and Jane that Gary is autistic and has for some reason made a connection with their son. They don't want Rosen anywhere near the situation and give Harken 30 minutes to fix things before they call the police.
Harken asks Brian about Gary's record suspicions, while Nina uses her ability on Jane in another room. Jane admits they aren't the baby's real parents and the woman who brought the baby in took care of him in the lab. Brian and Jane turn the tables on Harken and Nina and it becomes clear they are alphas. They demand Gary give them the baby, but Gary refuses. Harken and Nina get back in the fight and take them out.
Another flash to Rosen's statement to Clay, this about the grenade explosion that killed her. Rosen looks at her art and recalls saying that whatever happens to Dani was his responsibility.
Rosen returns to the department and tests the baby's blood. He finds that Adam has the ability to increase the hormone to protect in anyone he comes in contact with. Rosen gives Gary something to drink that returns his levels to normal.
The sex goes much for Rachel and John this time around.
Harken and his wife bring Adam home. It's temporary, but she seems interested in keeping him.
Hicks and Rosen talk again. Rosen reminds him that they weren't the ones who killed her. Hicks wants to get to Parish before Clay does, and Rosen seems to like the idea.
11If Memory Serves
08 Oct 2012Description ▼
Open with the team engaged in some serious work taking down the key pieces of Parish's team.
Rosen tells Clay he isn't sure the approach will be effective. One of the addresses on the list triggers something in Rosen's memory.
Rose shows Hicks the address, telling him it's a critical location and they need to get their before Clay's guys do. Kat will join Hicks on what is her first mission. Gary tells everybody his mother was in a car accident.
Inside the house Hicks and Kat find a man who appears to not to have his wits about him. His name is Mitchell and he tells them things about his life that couldn't possibly be true. They ask Mitchell why he's locked up in the room by himself and he says it's because he's very important to Stanton Parish. Rosen tells Hicks to bring him in, as he must be important.
Senator Burton drops by Rosen office, telling him she'll be acting as senate liaison to the Parish taskforce. She asks about Parish's weaknesses and wants to be brought up to speed. She thanks Rosen for providing her doctors with information that saved.
Rosen is furious at Nina for giving Burton a paper trail with which she was able to find him. He doesn't want Burton to see Nina, so he tells her to leave.
At the hospital Gary tells Harken he wants to leave. While there is finds the manifest from Parish's shipment out of Chinese.
In the car Hicks is growing tired of Kat and Mitchell. Mitchell says he's responsible for Dani's death, at which point somebody begins shooting at their car from a bridge. The person jumps onto their car and appears to be killed when he's thrown off of it. But after the threesome leave the totaled car to look for help, the man miraculously un-breaks his neck gets to his feet. Hicks puts his gun to Mitchell's head and asks about Dani. Mitchell puts his hand on Hicks' hand and shows him a memory of Dani.
Harken gets a call from Rosen and has to leave Gary at the hospital.
While walking through the woods for help Kat and Hicks decide that Mitchell is being used as storage for all of Parish's memories. They realize how important he would be for intelligence.
The guy who jumped on Hicks' car goes into a convenience store and buys a ton of milk. He starts chugging it and his bones continue to repair themselves.
Mitchell tells Hicks and Kat that the Caretaker will be coming to save him. He suggests this Caretaker can heal from broken bones. Hicks tells Kat she doesn't understand what it's like to remember.
Rachel and Rosen figure out that Parish's shipment contains the parts to build a machine that can instantly increase an alphas's powers.
Mitchell offers his memory-assisting services to Kat. She turns him down, then changes her mind when she sees a woman wearing a familiar blue dress. Unfortunately it turns out to be from a commercial Kat saw. It is the only memory of hers he can find.
Burton tracks down Nina, telling her she's spoken with Clay about her. Burton is losing her mind and joined the taskforce to find out if somebody working for Parish pushed her. Burton then remembers it was Nina.
Rosen, Harken and Rachel find Parish's container from China empty. Rachel can tell it has been filled with boxes, meaning Rosen already has the devices.
Gary's mother wakes up with Gary by his side. She begins to crash and a team rushes into the room.
Nina tells Rosen she thinks letting Burton know was the right thing to do. Rosen leaves to meet with the senator and smooth things over. He finds in the elevator. She's furious and has spent the past few hours compiling evidence to destroy his team. He explains the rationale behind what they did, and leaves her with a reminder that he and his team are dangerous.
While trying to find new transportation, Hicks is accosted by the Caretaker. The Caretaker knocks him out and when Kat calls Hicks' phone, says "Let's trade" and gives her five minutes to figure things out. Kat uses Mitchell to help her figure that the Caretaker requires a ton of calcium. Kat calls back and gives him a location to meet.
Harken returns to the hospital and Gary tells her his mother had a bigger stroke.
At the meeting point Kat drives a Mack truck into the Caretaker, pinning him into another vehicle and sending him into the water. Hicks is nowhere to be found and it looks as if the Caretaker may be resurfacing. Kat realizes that Hicks was in the vehicle and rushes to save him. She tells him she knew the Caretaker would sink because of his bone density while healing.
Rosen meets with Mitchell. Mitchell shows him the memory of his last meeting with Parish. Parish says he can't let Dani's death be in vain and promises Mitchell he'll grow old in a better world.
Kat tells Hicks about the TV commercial being her only memory. She says she doesn't like how it feels to kill the Caretaker.
Rosen tells Hicks that Parish doesn't use Mitchell to store plans, but rather to store feelings. He tells Hicks that he cares quite a bit about Mitchell and Dani, and his humanity is a weakness that can be exploited. Mitchell is sent to Building 7 and his home burned.
12Need to Know
15 Oct 2012Description ▼
We open with Harken and his wife walking with the baby. While they talk there is a huge explosion behind them.
The Parish tasks force discusses Parish systematically striking around the city. Rosen tells them that in two days it will be the 150th anniversary of Parish finding out he is an alpha. Harken wants to find a way into Parish's head and Rosen references using Mitchell. They agree to let Kat help move him to a psychiatric facility.
Parish talks to his team about a plan for transitioning the alphas to the new world. It was Dani's idea. Rosen tells Harken he wants to try something off the books, but Harken doesn't think they have time. Rosen then goes to Hicks.
The caravan taking Mitchell to the facility is ambushed by Parish's men. Mitchell is taken from the truck. Kat gives chase but he's gone.
At Parish's camp they remove Mitchell's chip. Nobody seems to know where Scipio is. It seems as if Mitchell's memories are gone and Mitchell blames an IV Rosen gave him. Mitchell is happy that for the first time in years "I feel like me."
Rosen and Nina talk and we see that Mitchell being taken was Rosen's plan. They have Scipio in their custody. He says he wants a lawyer. Nina pushes him and he tells them Parish has been getting shipments for months. He doesn't tell them anything else and they give him a drug.
Harken notices that nobody is around. Gary has found a way to communicate with Skyler.
Cut to Skyler at home with Zoe. She's working on a component for a man named Vince who is a friend of the family. Outside we see that Vince is working for Parish. He's furious that so far Skyler hasn't delivered.
Nina still can't get anything out of Scipio. They give him different drugs and Rachel is worried that they might be wasting time. The next step is giving Nina some stimulants.
Harken wants Gary to look for Rosen. He tells him that he, Nina, Rachel and Hicks are all out of range. Kat shows them somebody used a tranquilizer on Scipio and nobody on their team had that weapon.
Skyler figures out that somebody is trying to call them. She reaches out to the signal.
Hicks brings Meg in to see Scipio. But it turns out to be Nina and Scipio sees right through the trick. Scipio starts talking to Rosen about Dani. Rosen then injects him with adrenaline, which triggers his ability and causes him to burn himself with his own hands. Rachel doesn't like it.
Skyler realizes something is up. Vince has taken Zoe and won't give her back unless she finishes the project. We see that the whole thing is a trick, with Skyler and Zoe laying on beds at Parish' compound with IVs. Parish uses Mitchell to transfer what he is feeling and thinking. "I'm about to change the world. It's just a shame so man people have to die."
As Rosen presses Scipio for information Harken and Kat pull up. Rosen flees just as Harken enters with his team, saying what he knows is too valuable.
Gary tells Harken he knows where Skyler is. Harken and Gary pull up at the location and remove the IVs from Skyler and Zoe. The show Skyler a series of sketches hanging from the wall that appear to be her designs.
Hicks and Rosen arrive at Parish's "Adjustment Center" and realize what he must be planning. They see his plans and Rosen tells Hicks he must leave with the information. Hicks gives him his gun and takes off.

Outside the hospital Rosen talks through what to do when he finds Parish. He analyzes how Parish is able to heal himself and comes up with a way to inhibit that power. He steals medication from the hospital and heads out with Dani by his side. He heads for the subway.
The team spots Rosen on closed-circuit cameras at the hospital. They try to figure out why he took what he took.
Gary's mother wakes up and tells him to go help Rosen.
Rosen spots Parish at Grand Central Station. Parish smiles and looks at his pocket watch.
The country's power grid begins shutting down. The team is able to flip the switch for New York, which plunges the city into darkness. But for some reason the lights start coming back on.
Gary meets Rosen at the station. He insists that he stay and help him.
The team plans to search for the power source. Gary calls Nina and tells her he's found Rosen and Parish. The command center is being moved to FEMA. John wants Rachel to come with him, but she refuses. He tells her he loves her.
Kat remembers that there is an 80-year old generator under Grand Central Station with enough power to light half of Manhattan.
A man hands Rosen a phone. Parish is on the line. He tells him about a storage closet with the light disabled and advises him to go inside.
The team arrives at GCS. They get in an elevator and head for the basement. Rachel hears guns being cocked and gives them just enough head's up to avoid being killed when the doors open. They're able to get past Parish's men. Kat has Harken throw her behind two of the gunmen, allowing her to take them out. The generator is old, which concerns Skylar.
Rosen confronts Parish by the subway tracks. He says he killed Dani "for the greater good." Parish says in a few minutes he'll be a mass-murderer. Dani stands next to Rosen, begging him to kill Parish. Rosen won't, saying his daughter wouldn't have wanted it that way. At this point Hicks shoots Parish in the back. As Parish starts to heal, Hicks tells Rosen to use his drugs. Rosen says no, arguing that if they let him live Parish will have to live with his pain forever.
Kat and Skylar figure out that there is another breaker, meaning they can't shut down the generator from there. Also they won't be able to shut down the power at GCS, meaning they themselves are in trouble.
The explosion goes off, dropping everybody to the ground except Gary. He walks among the bodies, looking for Harken. He finds his friends by the subway track, seemingly dead.
