As Hardman makes it clear he's back to stay, Jessica tasks Harvey with helping shore up support for her within the firm - but Harvey's penchant for winning may create more enemies than friends. Mike confronts Rachel with the fact that he heard her message.
3Meet the New Boss
28 Jun 2012Description ▼
Open with Mike home to find his grandmother waiting for him. He is so absorbed in his work that he completely forgot they were supposed to have dinner that night. He is worried he is becoming his father in that regard.
Firm co-founder Daniel Hardman is back at work and it is clear things are still icy with Jessica. She references a case between Prescott Hospital and their nurses union. The case has recently been assigned to Harvey, but Daniel wants to be involved.
After the meeting Jessica tells Harvey she wants him to stick it to Daniel, to "put him in his place."
Mike tells Harvey he doesn't want to interact with Rachel because he just broke it off with her before things could get going.
Jessica tells Donna she's not doing well, but doesn't have time to worry about it.
Harvey pays Daniel a visit. He gives him a lame pro bono case and tells him in no uncertain terms that he works for Jessica, not him. On his way out he says "I don't work for you and I don't work with you."
Before meeting with the union rep (who is a nurse herself), Harvey tells Mike that he should be prepared to stick it to the nurses.
Harvey gives union rep Nell Sawyer an offers. She passes because she's heard about new donations the hospital has received. Mike points out the money was donated specifically for surgical robotics, but she isn't impressed. She says her union is ready to strike.
Jessica tells Louis that because a magazine recently ranked the firm poorly in terms of attorney quality of life, Harvard wants to rescind the firm's on-campus recruiting privileges.
Rachel admits to Donna that she's looked into dating services. Donna wants to take her to Happy Hour.
Mike wants them to seek a temporary restraining order (TRO), while Harvey wants to go with an injunction. It is less likely the injunction will be granted, but it is a more permanent option.
Louis meets with the associates and tells them he's invited a rep from Harvard to the firm. He wants them to convince the rep they love it there.
Without Harvey's knowledge, Daniel moves their hearing and had a judge grants them a TRO. Afterwards Daniel tells him if he wants to work with him "this is how it's going to be."
Harvey meets with Nell. He rips up the TRO and challenges her to begin their strike. For every day they strike, the offer will get worse.
Louis introduces everybody to Sheila from Harvard. She seems to have a similar philosophy to Louis.
Harvey is upset because he thinks Daniel backed them into the corner with the TRO. "Stop thinking like a rookie."
At the bar Donna and Jessica pretend to be female versions of Mike and Harvey.
Daniel calls Mike into his office. He says that for bargaining reasons, at this point he and Harvey can't go back to Nell. But there is no such restriction on Mike. He wants him to be their backchannel negotiator.
Meets with Nell, introducing her to his grandmother as a sign of how important this case is to him. Nell goes through his grandmother's pills and tells Mike that nurses are constantly staying beyond their shift to help patients due to staffing problems. IF their names show up on the chart, she says, the nurse stayed when they weren't getting paid for it.
Sheila tells Louis his associates don't respect him because they think they do his work for him.
Mike tells Harvey about the chart stuff Nell told him. He's learned that all it would take to end the strike is ten percent of the new equipment fund.
Harvey is upset with Daniel for lying to him and sending Mike to talk to Nell. Mike thinks they should have never budged and holds Daniel responsible.
Mike meets with Daniel, who reminisces about his wife who died of cancer.
Louis finds Harvey in the bullpen and they talk about the old time when they were associates. Louis wants to prove to the associates that he works as hard as they do. Harvey pays Louis several compliments.
Mike spots Rachel's dating network profile on her computer. He goes over the positive qualities she should include and she is clearly touched.
The next morning Louis tells the associates he's done all of their work for them and reminds them what a nice situation they have at the firm. He's been letting them do more work than they'd get at another firm in order to help them grow as attorneys.
At meeting with Nell, Harvey hands her 50 pink slips for nurses who have been working extra time and therefore are released them from federal labor law protection. He gives her the end of the day to agree to their deal. Mike looks stunned at how Harvey has used the information. Nell turns to Mike and says "You're grandmother would be proud."
Mike is upset at being used as a pawn in the back-and-forth between Harvey and Daniel.
Rachel drops by Mike's place. She demands to know why he wouldn't give their relationship a shot. He says he can't tell her.
Daniel apologizes to Jessica for how he behaved in the first meeting. She points out that he was acting aggressively before he came back, pointing to him taking a tea set from her office. He points out that his wife gave her the set and he wanted it because he missed her.
Jessica tells Louis she was impressed with his speech to the associates give them the chance to rise to the occasion. Louis says he wishes she would give him that same opportunity.
Harvey calls Mike into his office and tells him a story about Daniel. When he and Jessica caught him stealing money from clients, he said he was doing it to save his wife's life. It turns out it was actually because of a mistress. Harvey he said he wanted Mike to know Daniel shouldn't be trusted. Harvey also let Mike know that he trusted him after Mike asked.
Rachel takes what appear to be the LSATs.
Mike confronts his grandmother about the fact one of her drugs is for a heart problem. They sit and talk about his problems with women.

Open with Louis trying to get close to Daniel. When Daniel asks him to send him Mike, Louis lies and says he's been helping him for weeks on his Liquid Water litigation.
Louis references and old bet with Harvey and uses it to ask for exclusive use of Mike. Harvey turns him down. Harvey gets a letter tells him there is new evidence in a case he won four years ago. Harvey defended a car company called CM against a complaint its hood was defective. He attacked the deceased victim and won the case. When Mike makes fun of Harvey's music Harvey takes him down the hallway and gives him to Louis for one case.
Harvey meets with old adversary Tanner who is representing the victim. He shows him an internal memo from Coastal Motors that seems to indicate they knew of the defect that caused the accident. He is suing CM for $46 million, as well as Harvey and the firm for fraud.
Harvey and Jessica discuss the memo. She doesn't want Daniel to know about it and Harvey thinks his connections at CM mean he'll find out soon.
Louis has Mike working on a case defending a company called Liquid Water, which is being sued by competitor Durham Foods for claims in a slogan. Louis will be arguing the ads are promotional statement no reasonable person would believe to be true. Louis is being very militant with Mike.
Harvey asks Donna if she knew about the memo. She assures him the document never got to their office, but he wants her to search the files (quietly) and make sure it's not in there somewhere. Mike wants Harvey to get him out of working for Louis. Harvey says he can't do it and thinks it's too risky for him to work for them both simultaneously.
An associate named Harold has a thing for Rachel.
Harvey meets with CM CEO (Lawrence) who fires him, at least in part after a meeting with Tanner where he explained their history. CM thinks they need to cut ties with Harvey. Afterwards Harvey calls Mike and says he needs him to go through their files and find out "what's not in there." Harvey calls Jessica telling her that the upside of the firm being fired is that whatever they find now will not be covered by attorney-client privilege.
Mike and Rachel pretend to be fooling around so that Harold doesn't realize they're looking for files.
Louis hands the attorney for Durham Foods a dozen motions and says they want to take the case to trial. After the meeting Louis tells Mike the plan is to bury them in paperwork and the case could drag for months.
Daniel tells Harvey he'd like to work with him on his case as a kind of peace offering. Harvey says he'll try and find some time down the road. Mike comes in and tells Harvey two years ago a quality control manager named Sarah suspiciously did not write a report on the car model in question. Additionally, when the model was unveiled she disappeared from CM without any evidence of being fired or claims of unemployment. Mike thinks Sarah must have wrote the memo and found her address.
Harvey meets with Sarah. He doesn't admit to no longer working for CM, and asks who else she showed the memo to. She says she didn't write it. Sarah says she took her concerns about the hoods to Lawrence, who promised to fix the hood if she kept quiet. She's been racked with guilt over the man dying and tells Harvey to leave.
Outside of Sarah's place Harvey runs into Tanner, who has been waiting for him to find Sarah. Since Harvey now knows Lawrence knew about the defective hood and lied about it on the stand he has two choices: Keep the information quiet and be guilty of fraud or go public and risk a major hit to his reputation.
Jessica tells Harvey they should go to Daniel. He says he's going to fix it so they don't have to do that.
Louis skillfully gets a VP of marketing for Durham Foods to admit they're only suing because their product is terrible and they're losing market share. Afterwards Mike seems fired-up that they appear poised to win. The two seem to be enjoying the partnership.
Harvey waits for Lawrence in his company's underground parking lot. He says he knows about Sarah and tells him that if he doesn't make it right with the defendants he's going to come forward with what he knows.
Daniel tells Mike and Louis that Durham Foods are declaring bankruptcy. It seems like a loss, but Mike suggests they have their client buy them out and get the other products at a discount. Mike tells Louis the personal problems they've had in the past have been all on Louis' end. He basically says he needs to treat people better. Louis asks if anything is up with Harvey but Mike doesn't talk.
Louis is waiting for Harvey and Mike in Harvey's office. Louis offers to help but Harvey blows him off. Lawrence calls with word that he's going to settle. When Mike says Donna is still looking through the files Harvey has an idea. As Harvey leaves we see that a tape recorder has been hidden in the office.
Harvey meets with Tanner and accuses him of writing the memo himself. Tanner denies it and says he's still going to get Harvey for some of past shady lawyering.
We see Louis listening to Harvey and Mike's taped conversation. Daniel stops by to congratulate him on the buy-out idea and notices something seems to be up. Daniel asks if there is anything on his mind.
Harvey tells Jessica about CM settling. Since Tanner's still coming after the firm for fraud, they will have to tell Daniel in the morning. At this point a furious Daniel bursts into the room angry with them for endangering the firm by not telling him about the impending lawsuit. But he then tells them he not going to use this as a power play, instead offering to help them fight it as a team. Jessica agrees. After Daniel leaves she tells Harvey they have no choice at this point.
Having heard the taped conversation Louis is now giving Mike the cold shoulder.
Harvey confidently tells Mike that he's going to wreck Tanner.
Donna finds the memo with her stamp on it in the files. She is stunned.

Open with Harvey tells Mike he's not coming in that day and they need to do something to tip the scales in favor of Jessica for the upcoming partner vote.
FIVE YEARS AGO
Harvey has yet to make partner and Mike is a pot-smoking bike messenger living with a roommate named Trevor. Jessica asks Harvey for discreet help figuring out who is stealing from their clients' escrow accounts. He says if he helps her he wants something in return -- a "seat at the table."
Harvey tells Donna about his secret mission for Jessica. He asks about five specific escrow accounts and she said Zoe handles them.
Mike asks Rachel with help getting in touch with somebody named Monica Eaton who is no longer with the firm.
FIVE YEARS AGO
Louis is trying to get close with Monica but striking out. He's just been made junior partner and thinks it's strange a lowly associate like Harvey had a one-on-one with Jessica. Daniel clearly doesn't think much of Louis.
Harvey has Zoe type in her password and give him a few minutes alone with her files.
We see Mike and Trevor meeting women at a bar. Trevor tells them about Mike's intellect and he impresses them with his recall of books. Mike balks at reciting a book his mother gave him, pretending he's never read it.
Harvey tells Jessica after following the money he believes Louis is doing the stealing. He's been dropping a lot of cash recently.
Jessica meets with Louis, who has no idea what she's talking about. An angry Jessica goes to Harvey and tells him he screwed up giving her Louis' name. Harvey tells Donna he's going to use Louis to help him find the right person.
Mike and Trevor spot Harvey on the street and make fun of him for looking so uptight.
Harvey meets with Louis, who is spending his usual lunch break staring at Monica. Harvey shows him the files without the names. Louis realizes that a person (him) is being set up to take the fall by the embezzler.
Mike sits with Monica, telling her that five year early she "got screwed." He's drawn up a lawsuit in her name, seeking $10 million from Pearson Hardman. She's been working retail the past five years, but doesn't seem interested. He tells her to look it over and call him if she changes her mind.
FIVE YEARS AGO
Harvey tells Jessica the person doing the stealing is Daniel. He's been moving money around trying to make it look like it was Louis. She looks at his proof and realizes Harvey is right. Harvey thinks she should go to the DA, but she says she's taking it to Daniel.
Having arrived at his destination, Harvey picks up a few bottles of liquor.
FIVE YEARS AGO
Since Trevor called the girls he likes, Mike goes out with the other girl (Nikki) they met that night. While waiting for Nikki to get ready he continues to hit it off with the blonde. He clearly likes her better.
Jessica confronts Daniel about his stealing. He says it was for his wife, who he says is dying of Stage Four breast cancer. The money (he stole half a million) was for treatments not covered by insurance.
During the date Nikki tells Mike she'll pay him $1,000 to take the LSATs for him. He's pissed and walks out. He goes to see Edith who is recovering from a fall. This is when Mike realizes that Edith might need full-time care.
Harvey thinks Jessica is being too lenient with Daniel. She's sympathetic to his situation and loyal because he hired her. Jessica thinks Harvey's a bad guy for not seeming to care about Daniel's wife.
Mike tells Nikki his price is $5,000. He won't tell her why he changed his mind.
Donna and Rachel hit it off. Donna's eyes light up when Rachel tells her that Monica is at her weekly Pilates class. Donna rushes to Harvey.
Harvey goes to a hotel room, busting Daniel for having an affair with Monica. Harvey brings him a letter of resignation and tells him that after signing it he is going to name Jessica his successor. When Daniel balks, Harvey says he's already called his wife and invited her to a fundraiser at the hotel. If Daniel doesn't sign, she'll be sent to the room.
Louis tells Daniel that he knows Mike met with Monica. He thinks that means Jessica is making a move. Since Jessica hasn't been as good to Louis, he's giving Daniel the inside scoop.
FIVE YEAR AGO
Right before the LSAT Nikki notices that Mike is high. She's worried, but he tells her it's no big deal.
Harvey is let into a place that is "closed for maintenance."
FIVE YEARS AGO
Harvey returns from forcing Daniel's resignation. Donna tells him his father has died of a heart attack.
Jessica wants to fire Monica, who points out that if she does she'll sue the firm for wrongful termination. But Jessica says if she stays she'll end up being implicated in Daniel's crimes.
Daniel is furious that Jessica would "fight dirty" using Monica. She's clueless and we see her confront Mike and tells him to "drop it, immediately." Rachel's upset with Mike for lying to her about Monica.
FIVE YEARS AGO
Mike tells Trevor about his money-making venture. Trevor is planning to move out.
Jessica tells Harvey he's been named partner and is getting her office after she takes Daniel's. Donna and Harvey celebrate.
Zoe tells Harvey she's leaving the firm, in part because she thinks that he's lost his way.
Harvey is in a cemetery. He pours two shotglasses of McLaren's Scotch, drinks one and leaves the glass and bottle on top of the tombstone. We see that the tombstone is his father's.
Harvey and Jessica have a conversation and we see that she was in on the Mike-Monica plan the entire team. He also tells her he's going to get Donna back.

Open with Harvey meeting Donna on the street. They go back and forth before she eventually agrees to come back to work, on two conditions: A bigger bonus check and something we don't hear.
Louis hands out bonus checks to the associates. He does not have one for Mike.
Harvey does have a check for Mike. With the partner vote coming up in four days it looks like the numbers are even, with a tie going to Jessica.
Daniel has Louis into his office. He says he is allowed to name one senior partner per year and he has picked Louis. Louis is overcome with joy. Daniel tells him the move is official but wants him to wait on telling anybody until after the vote.
A fired-up Louis arrives for work the next day. Donna is also in the office. Her "one more thing" was to fire Harvey's temp assistant.
Harvey is defending a TV sports talking head named Zielinski who is being sued for saying on the air he thinks a baseball player named Solis is using PEDs. Harvey points out that Zielinski is stating his opinion. This seems to work until the prosecution shows off-air footage of Zielinski saying he wants to get Solis out of the league. The case is headed for trial.
Afterwards Solis' attorney tells Harvey that they've sent Zielinski evidence that his client is clean, but he won't mention it on-air. Solis wants an on-air apology and retraction.
Louis apologizes for how he treated Donna in the mock trial and gives her theater tickets. When Donna notices him wearing a new suit she realizes what's happened.
Donna tells Jessica about Louis being made senior partner.
Mike's grandmother Edith shows up at the office and Mike is clearly embarrassed.
Jessica confronts Daniel about making Louis senior partner. He thinks she should have promoted him years earlier. This leads to an argument about how she got the firm. She offers him an opportunity to take a few lawyers and leave the firm. He says the only reason he even came back is because Harvey approached his teenage daughter about his infidelity.
Jessica tells Harvey he needs to counteract Daniel's promotion of Louis. Since Louis idolizes him so much she wants Harvey to be nice to him.
Mike is looking for a place in Manhattan for Edith to live. Rachel decides to help.
Louis tells his parents about he promotion. Harvey comes into his office, gives him the address of his tailor and invites him to dinner.
During dinner Harvey tells Louis about Daniel trying to make him the patsy when he embezzled money from the firm. Louis points out Harvey is using him the same way Daniel is. Louis storms out of the restaurant.
Rachel and Mike find the perfect apartment for Edith. There is definitely some sexual tension between the two.
Harvey tells Mike about getting shot down by Louis.
Zielinski tells Harvey there is no way he'll retract his charge against Solis. He wants Solis to have an asterisk by his name, a la Roger Maris. He says he has a rock-solid source that Solis is juicing, but won't reveal who it is. After the meeting Harvey tells Mike he thinks Zielinski is probably right, and they need to figure out how Solis passed the drugs tests. Mike is given that task.
Harvey comes to Louis with an asterisk argument. He thinks Louis shouldn't want to be named senior partner under these circumstances. Once again Louis rebuffs him, pointing out that Jessica didn't have the courtesy to court him herself.
Mike tells Rachel he cancelled a dinner engagement with Edith because of his work commitments. She shows him her LSAT scores have come in the mail but she's too nervous to open the envelope. She's gotten a great score.
Mike has figured out Zielinski's source is an old teammate of Solis' who provided him with clean urine. Harvey thinks they can make use of this information without going public.
Jessica isn't surprised Harvey couldn't close Louis. She sent him first because Louis wouldn't believe her if he didn't have to work to get her there. Harvey thinks Louis' anger is "deep" and words won't be enough. Harvey offers up his office, a sign he's putting the firm's needs above his own.
Mike confronts Solis outside the stadium. He says if Solis doesn't drop his suit and retire, they'll go public with him being a cheater. If he does, Zielinski will never mention him on-air again.
Louis tells Jessica he wants to be valued, nothing more. He closes the door and says he's tired of being strung along. Jessica explicitly tells him that Daniel is buying him. Louis says it's time she put Harvey in his shadow and essentially threatens to go with Daniel. Jessica tells him that she was prepared to give him Harvey's office, but since he's threatened her has changed her mind. She promises him she'll win the vote and if he's on the wrong side there will be "no coming back."
Louis confronts Daniel about him making him a patsy. Daniel said the reason he used him was his financial expertise and it wasn't personal. Louis says he could've been sent to prison and Daniel says he didn't care back then. Daniel says he's a different man and if Louis doesn't believe he can be managing partner he shouldn't vote for him. He also says making him partner was not contingent upon a vote for him.
Harvey tells Zielinski about Solis retiring on the condition he never mention him again. Zielinski hates the idea. Mike walks in Zielinski's source, who is furious because he think he was given up. Harvey says the only way he can protect his source (and therefore his career) is to take the deal.
Louis stops in to see Jessica and Harvey. He gives them his senior partner buy-in check but tells them they'll have to wait 24 hours to see which way he'll vote.
Mike is putting the finishing touches on Edith's new apartment. There is a knock at the door but it is Rachel, not Edith. She tells him that Edith has passed away.

Open with Mike smoking a post-sex joint with Tess. They talk about Rachel stopping by and him having to go back to work the following day. He claims she's just a friend and it her being there didn't mean anything. Harvey and Donna talk about whether or not Harvey has asked Zoe out on a date. The relationship between Louis and Harvey is still very frosty. Mike walks into Rachel's office. He apologizes, but she doesn't want any part of it. She asks if Tess knows if he put the moves on her earlier that night and he tells her Tess is married. Harvey and Mike are brought to see a young man named Liam, the son of an acquaintance of Harvey's. He hit somebody on the way home from a party and is adamant he had nothing to drink that night. Liam has no idea what happened to the guy he hit because he left the scene. Harvey thinks Mike needs to sit out the case because of what happened to his parents. Mike talks his way back in. Harvey looks at Liam's car and thinks the damage being on the side is a good thing. It backs up his story that the guy came out of nowhere. Mike has found the victim, a man named Albert, in one of the hospitals. He's injured be seems stable. At this point Liam says that he called 911. Harvey and Mike recommend that Liam turn himself in. His mother isn't so sure, but Liam does it. Mike reassures Liam while waiting for the police in the station. Louis meets with Sheila who is very impressed with his promotion. She's lining up promising potential first-year associates for him. She hands him a room key and tells him to join her the following night for some kinky fun. Harvey and Mike meet with an assistant DA named Katrina. Harvey asks for community service and a fine and she tells them the victim has suddenly died. His concussion turned into a brain bleed. All she is offering for Liam is 10 years. Louis interviews potential associate candidates. He loves the first woman he interviews, a no-nonsense super-lawyer named Maria. Mike tells Harvey he's found out Albert was wearing dark clothes and a hood that night because he was tagging graffiti. This is great news for Liam and Harvey wants Mike to meet with Katrina. Mike tells Katrina they'll plead to a misdemeanor. She thinks she's doing him a favor because the DA doesn't like Harvey and a jury trial could be a crapshoot. In return for putting the deal through she wants to a job Pearson Hardman Harvey tells Mike he's not interested in interviewing Katrina but will take the deal. At this point she can't rescind it without new evidence. Harvey tells Mike the next step is to settle with Albert's family. Mike knows what it feels like to have a lawyer discuss the worth of your family members soon after their death and asks to handle it himself. Harvey authorizes him to go as high as $100,000. Mike asks Rachel to keep the fact Tess is married to herself. This makes her even angrier and she admits to having had an affair in her past. She warns him that what he's involved in "only ends one way." Albert's family tells Mike they only want to be able to pay off Albert's debts and cover the funeral. That would be $20,000. But Mike insists they take $100,000 and the settlement is signed. Louis arrives at Sheila's room. Before the sex he tells her his front-runner is Maria. This were her choice and she says she'll help him close her. Harvey drops by Zoe's place to pick her up and interacts with her niece. Zoe's stuck at home and Harvey agrees to stay and help babysit. Mike tells Tess about his negotiation for the settlement. He's happy he was able to give them "dignity" and says his was best-ever day at work. Harvey calls Mike and says he needs to help walk Liam through the plea deal. Mike has been smoking weed but thinks he can pull it off without anybody noticing. Liam signs the settlement. He is relieved, telling Mike he thinks things could have been much worse. Liam then admits that he was high when he hit Albert and Mike looks stunned. Mike tells Harvey about Liam being high. Harvey doesn't think this changes anything, but Mike disagrees. Harvey is aware Mike gave him 80 extra grand and tells him to leave it alone. Maria accepts Louis' offer. She tells Donna very authoritatively that she knows everybody from Harvard and has no memory of Mike having been there. Mike meets with the lawyer who defended the person who hit his parents. Mike wants to know how he lives with himself. The lawyer doesn't initially remember his parents' names but says he feels bad for what he did. Harvey tells Jessica he thinks Maria will expose Mike if Louis hires her. Jessica brings Louis into her office and tells him she's instituted a hiring freeze. Louis thinks this is punishment and he'll look like a fool. She doesn't care and tells him to make it go away. Mike talks to Katrina prior to the courtroom plea hearing. He tells her Liam was high when he hit Albert and she thanks him. But she goes ahead with the deal as planned and the judge rules the case closed. Mike confronts her in the hallway afterwards, shocked that she did nothing with the information. Katrina says she knew that he was trying to break privilege and wanted no part of it. Donna tells Harvey that Katrina called them and the deal is done. He tells her to "get the paperwork started." She asks him if this is really the person he wants to be his second hire. While staring out the window Harvey tells her to go ahead. Louis tells Sheila about not hiring Maria. She says she's disappointed that he's not the man she thought he was and kicks him out. Louis blames it on the freeze. She tells him she knows for a fact that Harvey just hired somebody that day. Mike challenges Harvey for hiring Katrina. Harvey tells him he did it for him, given what would have happened if his background had been looked into. Harvey promises him he'll think twice the next time he needs to cross a line to save his butt. Mike and Rachel exchange a long look as he leaves the firm. Mike meets with Liam with the final settlement. Mike is pissed and demands Liam clean up his act. Harvey wants to take Zoe away for the weekend. She tearfully tells him her brother has terminal cancer. Zoe is going to raise her niece full-time after he dies. Mike return to his apartment to find a half-naked Tess lying on his bed smoking a joint. He says what they're doing is "disgusting" and asks if she loves her husband. She has no real answer and he says what they're doing is wrong. He tells her to leave.

Open with Harvey arriving to work exactly at 8am. Donna tells him that one of his clients, Trent Devin, is there for an unscheduled meeting. She also tells him Mike isn't at work yet. Devin is having second thoughts about taking his company public, a decision he and Harvey had already talked about. Devin says he's worried about the future of the firm. Louis tells Jessica he's upset about hiring somebody after telling him there was a hiring freeze. She tells him to move on and wants them to heal their wounds, starting with him making sure he retains a client that thinking of jumping ship. Louis meets with Harold and demands he draft a copy of some contracts for the client they're losing and get them to Rachel first thing in the morning. This is basically his last chance. Mike arrives at work at 8:30. Harvey is furious he wasn't there to help with the Devin meeting. Harvey says he's tired of cutting Mike slack. Donna thinks Harvey was needlessly hard on Mike. Harvey tells her what's happening with Zoe and her brother. Mike runs into a former Pearson Hardman associate named Jimmy. Mike complains about Harvey and Jimmy tells him how good things are for him at his new firm Pratt and Gould. He then tells Mike that his firm is expanding and there is a place for him there. Jimmy also tells him his firm is poaching some of Pearson Hardman's associates. Mike drops by Harvey's apartment and tells him he got a job offer. He also tells him about Pratt and Gould going after their associates and clients. Harvey realizes Allison has been whispering in Devin. Harvey and Jessica meet with Allison and asks if Daniel is pulling her strings. She says no. Jessica tells her they're filing a claim of interference, arguing she's using privileged information to steal clients. Rachel tells Louis that he's lost the client. Despite telling him Harold's work was flawless, he immediately blames the associate. Harold rudely and publically fires Harold. Harold talks to Mike about the fact Louis makes him freeze up. Harold talks about how well he did at Harvard. Donna and Harvey talk through his existing clients, making sure they are all solid. The plan is to focus on Devin. Mike talks to Louis about Harold. Louis eventually agrees to keep Harold, but only if Mike personally guarantees every bit of work Harold produces. Mike goes to Harold and tells him there was nothing he could do. Harold mentions several other top associates who are leaving for Pratt and Gould. Mike realizes that Allison is taking the firm's best fifth year associates. Harvey thinks Louis may be involved. Harvey goes to Louis' office and accuses him of betraying the firm by helping Allison poach lawyers. He denies the charge. Harvey wipes everything off of Louis' desk and tells him that as far as he's concerned the two of them are done. As a senior partner Louis can't be forced out, but Harvey will basically treat him as if he no longer works there. Louis meets with Allison. He wants a job. He says Jessica will waive his non-compete as long as he doesn't take any clients. He wants a senior partner position, but Allison tells Louis he has no leverage. She wants him but he'll need to earn the spot. Allison promises he'll be valued if he joins her firm. Mike tells Harvey he knows what's going on with Devin. He thinks Allison is offering him a deal to become CEO of a larger combination of two companies. Harvey tells Devin he knows what's going on. All he asks is to be allowed a look at the contract. If it's on the up-and-up, Harvey thinks Devin should leave him for Allison. But he reminds Devin that he's never lied to him and wants to at least have a shot at protecting him. Louis goes to Jessica and asks to be let out of his non-compete. She says she's not on the same page as Harvey and thinks he's a valued member of the firm. Jessica knows what it's like to be wooed by Daniel. Jessica signs the release, but Louis now looks conflicted. Heading into the office Mike is cornered by Tess' husband. He punches Mike in the face a few times and kicks him in the stomach. Louis leaves his resignation letter on Jessica's desk and heads to the elevator with a box of his personal items. Just before he heads down a bloodied Mike appears from another elevator. Louis helps clean him up and they start talking about Louis leaving the firm. Mike mentions that he needs help with the Devin contract. The next morning Jessica tells Harvey she doesn't like how he treated Louis and thinks he's off his game. Mike shows up and tells Harvey why he got beat up. Mike tells him he figured out the Devin contract is actually too good to be true, Allison is trying to collapse Devin's company so she can represent him. Mike tells Harvey that Louis was the one who figured out the issue was with the numbers. For Louis it was a just a way to say he's sorry. Harvey tells Allison that she's lost the fight for Devin. She tells him that it's only a matter of time before things get worse for Pearson Hardman, since everybody knows they're weak. Mike talks Jimmy into getting Harold a job at his firm. Harvey tells Jessica he wants to be a named partner. She tells him it's not the right time. The episode ends with Harvey tearing up Louis' resignation letter.

Open with it seeming like Harvey and Mike are buddies again. Jessica comes in and tells Harvey that the attorney they had been dealing with on an important gender discrimination case has died and been replaced. We learn the replacement attorney is Rachel's father, Robert Zane. Over a birthday lunch Robert tells Rachel he's taken the case and we learn that she tries not to advertise the name of her father. There is clearly tension for Rachel over wanting to prove to her father she is smart enough to be a lawyer. Louis waits for Katrina Bennett in her office. He tells her that he is going to be supervising her work closely. She doesn't like it, but he doesn't give her much choice. Rachel asks Mike to make her the paralegal for the case her father will be trying. Mike is shocked her father is such a high-profile attorney. Robert sits down with Harvey and Mike. He offers a fraction of what he predecessor had accepted for the client. Harvey isn't taking it, which means Robert will be re-deposing Sloane Mosley. Katrina brings Donna cookies in order to get information about Louis. She advises her to be "ready to go the distance." Robert meets with Jessica. He suggests he firm needs a win, even if it means much less money for their client. Jessica tells Harvey that Robert told her he thinks the firm needs a win. This seems to infuriate Jessica. Katrina meets with Louis and apologizes for any possible misunderstanding. She "begs" for his help and asks him to sign on as first chair on one of her cases. Harvey meets with Rachel and asks if it will rattle her father having her sit in on the deposition. Prior to the deposition Harvey asks Robert what his daughter will think of him after he tears into Mosley. He reminds Robert that he tore up their deal. During the deposition Robert rips into Mosley and Rachel looks uncomfortable. Mike cuts the deposition short. After the deposition Rachel yells at Mike for trying to protect her. He assures Rache that she isn't what is most important. Katrina ends up tricking Louis into missing a court date with a particularly picky judge. He is furious, but she appears to be a worthy adversary. Mike is upset with Harvey with making things personal. Harvey says Robert started the process when he challenged their firm. An upset Jessica is waiting for Harvey, telling him that the client wants to take Robert's lower offer. Harvey meets Robert on the golf course. He has now revoked the settlement and challenges him to a trial. Louis shows up at Katrina's trial. He has replaced the paperwork she needs for her case with pictures of him photoshopped as various U.S. presidents. This gets her in deep trouble with the judge. Rachel tells Mike about the problems she's having with her father. She hasn't told her father she's going to law school. She been struggling her whole life seeking her father's approval. Donna asks Louis to "let it go" with Katrina. Louis tells her to get lost. Mike comes to Harvey with word that the company had been using similar language during evaluations of female employees they wouldn't promote. Harvey and Mike tell Robert there were 113 different employees in various departments who got the same treatment. Harvey tells him the number he'll get in court is now ten times what it was in the original settlement. Louis tries to enter the courtroom and finds that his expensive nail scissors were hidden in jacket pocket. He is placed under arrest by an officer who is friendly with Katrina. Rachel talks to Robert. He says he's watching her "fail" and it's tearing him up inside. She tells him about her LSAT scores. Katrina finds Louis in a holding cell. He tells her his problem with her isn't that she's a "pretty face," but rather that she took a job from somebody more deserving. They call a truce. Robert tells Jessica he wants to decertify the class action suit. He wants to merge firms. Harvey tells Jessica they can only take these types of attacks for so long. Jessica shows Robert she's willing to prosecute every single one of the individual cases, even if it means crippling her firm. She thinks by the end of the process she'll be the winner. Robert tells Rachel he's dropping the case. They seem to be getting along well. After he leaves Mike pops into Rachel's office with a framed copy of her LSAT score. Robert tells Jessica his firm is passing the case along to Daniel Hartman.

Open with Daniel deposing Sloane Mosley, the key witness in the Fulsome Foods case. After a few questions Daniel reveals that he's really there to serve Harvey and Mike as part of a $10 million wrongful termination suit on behalf of Monica. Daniel points out to Jessica and Harvey that because of confidentiality agreements they won't be able to testify about knowing of Monica's relationship with him. On his way out of the building Daniel needles Harvey about his name not being on the door. He says the reason Jessica won't make him a name partner is that she doesn't trust him. Harvey is upset with Jessica for signing the agreement and thinks they should settle. Harvey also brings up the fact she never told him about it. She isn't interested in settling. Rachel shows Mike she's working on her application to Harvard. She doesn't want to apply anywhere else because she wants to work at Pearson Hardman. Louis asks Donna to try and convince Harvey to let him work on the Monica case. She doesn't want to do it. Harvey tells Mike to focus on Fulsome Foods and let him handle Daniel. Jessica drops by Robert Zane's place and tells him to get rid of Daniel. He asks for the full story as to why and she tells him about the confidentiality agreement she's signed. It will cost her $15 million to break the agreement and Robert seems impressed with Daniel's work. Harvey pays the judge who will be hearing their case a visit and presents an option for waiving the confidentiality agreement. The judge says it won't work and tells Harvey Daniel met with him two weeks earlier. Daniel arrives to depose Jessica. Donna escorts him to the conference room and slaps him across the face a few times as retaliation for what she did to her with the planted memo. During the deposition Daniel attempts to bait her into breaking the confidentiality agreement. He tries to make the point Monica was fired because she was younger, prettier and of a child bearing age. Jessica walks out in disgust. Harvey against tries to argue to Jessica that they should settle. She doesn't want to do it, despite the fact he thinks she'll end up looking like a fool. Mike asks Rachel for a transcript of Jessica's deposition. He blames himself for what is happening and is worried if he doesn't fix it there won't be any more Pearson Hardman. Mike meets with Monica and apologizes for what he did. She says she's happy that Jessica is paying the price for what happened. Mike comes to Jessica with an idea they should get Monica to admit to the affair, which would take gender off the table and help them with Fulsome Foods. She likes his idea and tells him to take the lead in deposing Monica. But during the deposition Monica says she was terminated because she was being harassed by Louis. Louis asked her out repeatedly and stared at her at work. On top of that Monica gets on the record the fact that Jessica had her hand in her letter of resignation to Louis. In the bathroom Harvey asks Daniel what it would take to settle. He tells Harvey that Monica wants to see a jury find Jessica guilty. Daniel points out that ultimately the firm can't afford to try all 45 cases and he is going to "bleed you dry." Louis tells Harvey he wants to help. He thinks if he can talk to Monica outside the confines of the case he can convince her to drop the suit. Harvey shows him a copy of what Monica said in the deposition. Rachel tells Mike her father is the reason she wants to be a lawyer. She wants to be considered "amazing" just like he is. He tells her what he did to get hired by Harvey. Harvey tells Jessica she's "out of control," sayings she made a mistake having Mike take lead in Monica's deposition. Jessica says Mike's idea was a good one, but the questions were being asked of the wrong person. During Daniel's deposition they get him to admit on the record he had an affair with Monica. Off the record he tells Mike that Jessica was behind everything that happened with the affair being exposed. Daniel then reminds them they were the ones who fired Monica 24 hours after finding out, which is all the jury will care about. Louis corners Daniel in the elevator. He tells Daniel about the nature of his feelings for Monica and promises that if he ever does anything to him again he is going to "rip your smug face off your fat neck." Mike tells Monica she was right about Jessica all along. He adds that she was fired because Jessica didn't trust her, not because she was a woman. He then tells her about the women in the Fulsome cases and what her suit will do to them. He asks her to read the files and decide if the women deserve to be treated fairly. Mike is able to Monica to agree to a very inexpensive settlement. Jessica tells Harvey she's bugged by the fact Daniel was able to trick her with the agreement. He thinks if they settle it will be a victory. Rachel tells Mike her essay is about the fact her time as a paralegal will help her tremendously in her legal career. They both realize she's going to get into Harvard and talk about her being gone. Donna tells Harvey about hitting Daniel. Jessica tells Harvey to take Daniel's name off the wall. Jessica asks Robert about merging their firms. He thinks there is no need now because "Pearson Whatever" will soon be in shambles. They will be simultaneously trying seven different cases in seven different jurisdictions. It was Daniel's idea.

Open with Harvey and Mike watching Hanley Folsom on tape. Harvey wants to catch him in a lie but Mike tells him he was denied authorization to hire an investigator. Jessica tells Harvey the firm is essentially out of money. Harvey tells Mike the plan is to focus on just one of the seven cases they currently have to work. They agree the case should be Bakersfield, which is run by Folsom's brother-in-law and has the worst stats in terms of gender discrimination. Harvey arrives at the conference room to find Scottie waiting for him. She's is looking to take ten of their cases. Harvey suggests that instead of fighting against him with limited resources the only way to beat Daniel might be to partner with Scottie's rich, London-based firm. Jessica reluctantly agrees. Katrina has been assigned to Bakersfield by Jessica and Mike doesn't like it. Mike tells Harvey, who is unhappy to be working alongside Scottie. Harvey talks to Scottie, whose goal the whole time was getting him to partner with his firm. She wants to start with Bakersfield, but Harvey suggests Parkville. It's the toughest case to win, but the benefit is that Daniel will never be expecting them to target it. Harvey thinks when they win that case the rest of them will follow. The plan is to pretend they're working all 45 cities in order to confuse Daniel. Jessica asks Mike and Katrina to find something on Hanley Folsom. Mike learns that Katrina wasn't actually assigned by Jessica, but in fact asked to be on the case. This leads to an argument about the circumstances under which Katrina was hired. On her firm's private jet Scottie makes a move on Harvey. Harvey weakly tries to fight in on professional grounds but eventually goes along with it. Rachel gets rejected by Harvard. Donna learns the news but she keeps it from Mike. Despite being near tears she gets it together enough to recommend to Mike they need to go after Hanley's personal correspondence. Harvey and Scottie arrive in Parkville for the deposition and are greeted by Daniel. He knew they'd be there by checking the flight plan for Scottie's jet. Harvey gets a call from Mike who knows why Parkville manager Kathleen Mitchell, the woman they are deposing, was promoted. Harvey brings up the fact Mitchell had a hysterectomy nine months before her promotion, suggesting the fact she couldn't have children is the only reason Hanley hired her. Mitchell shoots back that she never told anybody, but Harvey is convinced that Hanley found out. After the deposition Scottie is furious with Harvey for not telling her what he found out about Mitchell. Scottie says her last loss to Harvey is the reason she hasn't become a name partner. If she wins this case she'll get her name on the door. Rachel is having trouble focusing and it is hurting Mike in the eyes of Jessica. In an incredibly condescending way Katrina asks Rachel to stop what she's doing for Mike and do something for her. Rachel practically bursts into tears telling Louis she didn't get into Harvard. Considering her resume Louis realizes the person responsible is Sheila. He says "I believe you were wronged and I will not have it." When Harvey and Scottie return they find Jessica and Scottie's boss, Darby, waiting for them. Darby has shown up with a file on clients Daniel has wronged. Rachel has found Mike the Hanley access he's been looking for, and also mentions the interactions with Katrina. Katrina brings Harvey the subpoena Rachel found an hour before Mike does. Harvey isn't happy. Mike yells at Katrina for pursuing his idea and then taking credit for it with Harvey. Louis pays Sheila a visit and charges her with behaving unprofessionally. Sheila finds this noble, which leads to them having sex. Rachel tells Mike that Katrina has already found the smoking gun they need. The person she has making the copies is notorious for making slow copies and Mike's plan is to steal the information before it gets to Jessica. After sex, Sheila tells Louis that Rachel simply wasn't good enough. She actually liked Rachel, but her pool of candidates was simply too strong. Mike brings Jessica and Harvey the smoking gun, the key to winning Parkville. Daniel and Hanley arrive for their deposition and find Mitchell sitting in the conference room. Harvey and Jessica tell them they've found an email proving Hanley knew Mitchell couldn't have children and changed his review of her because of the fact. Daniel doesn't think it proves a pattern and leaves with his client. Katrina waits for Mike and Rachel in Rachel's office. Katrina suggests the two of them are sleeping together. Jessica tells Darby she's considering his offer and we see her show him the firm's books for the last five years. Harvey sees this through a door. Harvey confronts Scottie about her firm merging with his and she tells him she wants both of their names on the same door. Darby wouldn't let her tell him about it. Harvey leaves her with "this merger isn't happening." Jessica and Darby meet with Daniel. She tells him because of their plans of merger Jessica had to show Darby their books, meaning Darby knows about his embezzlement. This means Daniel could lose his client and possibly end up in jail. Jessica recommends he settle on the way out. Louis lies to Rachel and tells her that his relationship is to blame for her not getting into Harvard. He offers to write her a recommendation for any other school, but she won't be going to Harvard.

Open with Mike refusing to do something for Jessica related to Harvey's clients. SIX NIGHTS EARLIER Edward is throwing some kind of big party for the firm. Mike hands Harvey three envelopes. Louis bickers at the bar with an English man named Nigel. Harvey hands Edward three separate lawsuits from one of his clients to one of theirs. They then make a wager about who will win. If Harvey wins there will be no merger. After the party Jessica and Harvey argue about the merger. She makes him promise that if loses he'll embrace the merger with open arms. And she agrees that if he beats Edward it won't happen. Harvey is upset with Scottie for what he believes was her stabbing him in the back. Rachel tells Mike about Harvard. She asks him how it felt when he got in and he pauses. Louis spots Nigel kissing Donna's hand and goes ballistic. Nigel tells him he was just getting a tour. Donna tells Louis that Nigel is doing an efficiency evaluation for Edward's firm, something he has been asked to do for their firm. Donna challenges him to beat Nigel. Edward drops by Harvey's office and tells him he's about to freeze the assets of one of the clients filing suit. He's doing this in order to allow Harvey a chance to move the client's money in order to fund his defense. He doesn't think it would be "sporting" not to give Harvey a fair chance. Louis and Nigel have another verbal sparring match in the bathroom. Rachel has drafted a letter on Mike's head to Harvard as a way to go over Sheila's head. She thinks it's not right that she's being denied admission because of what happened between Sheila and Louis. Mike says he can't sign the letter because it would be hearsay, but eventually agrees to help her. Mike then drops by Louis' office and tells him about the letter. Louis tells Mike the truth. Mike thinks Louis needs to be honest with Rachel about why she didn't get in. Edward tells Harvey he'll be leaving town the following day and will be having his No. 2 handle things. It turns out Edward freezing the assets was nothing more than a bait which has opened Harvey's clients up for counter-litigation. Jessica tells Edward she knows he's taking meetings with other firms. She wonders if he's afraid of losing to Harvey. We learn that Jessica very much wants Edward to beat Harvey, because if he doesn't Harvey will lose respect for her and eventually leave the firm. Louis tells Harvey he supports him 100 percent. He's concerned that if the merger happens he'll be less valuable because of someone like Nigel. Harvey tells him he needs to buy some time and Louis says he can help. Harvey drops by Mike's apartment with the strategy he should use against Scottie. It's confidential info from the merger that he wants to use for a reprieve. It's ambiguous legal ground and inadmissible and Harvey admits he's not sure about doing it. The next day Harvey finds Scottie sitting in his office. Mike, meanwhile, is surprised to find Jessica in the office where he's supposed to meet with Scottie. Simultaneously both women tell both men that it might be time to give up. Mike shows Jessica the file and Harvey tells Scottie that he's made a deal with Jessica that she's gone if he wins. Jessica then comes into Harvey's office and kicks out Scottie. She's upset that he cheated and he's upset she's helping Edwards beat him. They argue over whether the firm even needs Edward's firm at this point. He threatens that he could leave and she says she's going to prove she can control him. Scottie asks Donna if she's in love with Harvey. She says no and wonders about Scottie's agenda. Scottie admits she's in love with Harvey, but doesn't know how to get him to believe it. Donna says the only way he'll hear it is if she walks away from the merger. Scottie meets with Mike and gives him a file that would win Harvey's case. He asks why she's giving it to him instead of Harvey. Scottie tells him a story that makes it sound like the only way Harvey will use it is if he doesn't know where it came from. Mike shows Harvey the file and tells him it's from Scottie. He doesn't want to use it. Louis and Nigel run into each other at the theater. They appear to strike up a friendship and agree to leave one another's name of the other's list in order to save both of their positions. Donna tells Harvey about Scottie being in love with him. She's convinced the file is her way of reaching out. Harvey tells he to give Mike the file and Donna said it was already done. Mike stops by Jessica's office and tells her about the file. She tells him to go home and throw the file away. Jessica threatens him with a letter to the DA about him practicing law without a license. Mike is speechless. Harvey yells at Mike for not listening to him. Jessica comes in and tells Mike to leave. Harvey tries to fire Mike but she says no. She and Harvey "have it out" with her ultimately telling him he's going to stick around and learn his place. Scottie tells Harvey somebody told Edward about the file she gave to Mike and she's been fired. He assures her it wasn't him. Donna tells Louis that Nigel didn't put him on his list. But Louis went back on his word and included Nigel on his. He then tells her he needs to try and be a good friend to Rachel. Harvey welcomes Edward to the firm with open arms. He then reminds Edward that the merger would never have happened without Scottie and he should give her her job back. He asks Harvey if she should work in New York or London. After Louis tells Rachel the truth about Harvard she comes to Mike about why he wasn't honest with her in the first place. He is furious that he's lost too many things and isn't read to lose her. She demands he tell her what is going on and he admits he's never been to Harvard. She slaps him several times and tries to leave. He grabs her and they start going at it hot and heavy.

Open with Mike dreaming about Rachel exposing him during a firm meeting where the merger is finalized. He wakes up in a cold sweat. Harvey is looking at a contract offer for a basketball player-client. Donna walks in and tells him Darby needs an answer. He says "Send her to London." Harvey meets with the general manager of the basketball team. He says asks for significantly more money, threatening to expose a past incident to another team to drive up the price. Jessica is waiting for Harvey at his apartment. He tells her he asked for triple the money, but that the leverage he had was a bluff. During the conversation Harvey gets word that the team has caved to his demands. Mike drops by Rachel's house. It's been several days and he wants to see her. She's pissed that she lied to him about everything. He tells Rachel about his nightmare and says what most worried him was losing her, not being fired. She suggests he go into the office the next day and quit. Mike arrives at the office the following morning. He gets a cold stare from Harvey, then walks into Jessica's office. He says he has something to say, but she cuts him off. She tells him he's done plenty to help the firm and brings him to his brand new office. She wants him to view it as a symbol of what he can accomplish. Louis is furious that his favorite pens have been taken away by the new quarter-master, someone named Barbara. The pens and his favorite Bran Bars are two things he expects from the firm. Darby tells Jessica the US Government is going after Eva Hessington, the head of one of their biggest clients. He's decided to let Harvey handle the case, primarily because it will require some underhanded tactics. She doesn't like the idea but Darby makes it clear he is in charge. This case hold particular significance for Darby. Jessica goes to Harvey's office and tells him about the Hessington case, but misrepresents the particulars. She says she fought Darby to get him on the case. Rachel is upset when she finds out that not only has Mike not quit, but he has a brand new office. She admits her biggest issue is that she's trying so hard to achieve something he's been pretending to have accomplished. The next morning we see Mike sign his letter of resignation. Harvey goes to Darby and tells him he wants out. If he wins the Hessington case his non-compete will be torn up and he'll be dismissed. Darby agrees. Louis accidentally gets a look at Mike's letter of resignation and wants answers. Mike says he's had a falling out with Harvey and it can't be repaired. Louis tells Mike he needs to remind Harvey how much he needs him. Mike tricks the firm's top IT guy, Benjamin, into admitting he hacked into Mike's personal computer. He tapes the conversation and uses it as leverage to gain access to a hard drive. Harvey is frustrated by the amount of work he has to do with regard to Eva Hessington. Donna suggests Scotty. Harvey tracks Scotty down at the airport and asks her for help working the case. She doesn't seem interested because he's the reason she's on her way to London. He convinces her that he has strong feelings for her by recalling the first few times they met. Nigel reveals to Louis that he, in fact, is the quartermaster named Barbara. Nigel has changed firm policy so that his pens and bars are not allowed. Louis asks Donna for help with Nigel. Harvey meets with Eva, telling her that Richard Jensen is the US Attorney going after her. It is a bribery charge, and Harvey has discovered a cover-up, including bribing whistle blower, that Richard will eventually find. Richard's job shouldn't be hard and Harvey makes it clear to her that he's willing to do what it takes to win. Mike confronts Harvey, who is still fuming over his lack of loyalty. Mike's looked into Eva, but Harvey already has the info. Harvey claims an "associate at random" found the information. Mike shows up at Rachel's door and demands they have it out. This results in them in bed "all night." The next morning things seem good between them. Louis manages to get Darby to make him quarter-master Richard Tells Harvey he needs jail time for Eva because he plans to run for office. Harvey tries everything, but Richard isn't budging. Mike drops a folder on Harvey's desk. Nigel comes to Louis and makes a plea for him to allow him to remain quartermaster. Louis says no, at which point Nigel drops a bomb: Because Luis is now quartermaster, it means he can not longer be in charge of the associates. Nigel has tricked him. Louis is devastated. Donna returns Mike's folder to him. She says the only thing Harvey wanted from him was loyalty. Mike says he knows Harvey got the information on Eva from Scotty. Mike goes to Benjamin for help with Harvey. Donna shows Harvey the folder, which contains some key information on Richard. Armed with the information that Richard's largest campaign contributor is Hessington's top competitor, Harvey pays Richard a visit. He's willing to torpedo his political career if Richard doesn't help him out. Jessica tells Darby she's worried Harvey will use the case as leverage to leave. Darby says he doesn't think Harvey wants to leave. A man named Cameron sees Harvey. He is going to be the new special prosecutor. Mike brings Jessica to his office. He had Benjamin pull from her hard drive the letter she'd written threatening to expose Mike. In exchange he wants to be sent back to his cubicle, a move he hopes will win some favor with Harvey. Harvey tells Darby he's changed his mind. He no longer wants to leave the firm. Instead he wants Darby to back him as managing partner if he wins the case. He's planning to take Jessica down.

Open with an emotional Louis telling the associates he will no longer be in charge of them. Mike tells Rachel he's made no progress with Harvey, despite telling him what happened with Jessica. Jessica tells Louis he can have one associate to partner with and allows him pick whomever he wishes. Louis then goes to see Donna, asking if she will asks Harvey if he can have Mike as his new associate. She won't be his go-between and Louis goes directly to Harvey who gives his blessing. Jessica goes to see Cameron, who is serving as special prosecutor for the case against Eva. He tells her he has Eva dead to rights and gives her a surveillance video as proof. Louis takes Mike to a steak house for lunch, the two also feasting on wine and cheesecake. Mike is greatly impressed by the food. Afterwards Louis introduces Mike to the ownership, telling him the restaurant is about to become a shopping center because of eminent domain. Mike basically says there's nothing to be done because nobody wins those cases. Louis says his dream is to re-write the law and wants Mike to help him. Harvey isn't happy Jessica went to see Cameron without consulting him. She says she wants to help him, creating a "dream team." Rachel tells Donna she doesn't want Mike and Harvey's relationship to impact theirs. Donna agrees. Louis is really working hard to help Mike with the background for the steakhouse case. Harvey and Jessica show Eva the video, which shows her No. 2 Nick handing a case of money to a man in exchange for greasing the wheels on a new pipeline. There is no audio and Eva assures them she never uses the word "bribe." Harvey and Jessica realize Cameron must have gotten Nick to roll over on her. Eva doesn't buy it until Nick doesn't answer her call. Rachel tells Mike that Louis is trying to recruit him. He doesn't seem sure. Louis walks in and the two come up with a new strategy for the case. Harvey drops by Cameron's home. The two talk trash and Cameron admits that he has Nick as a witness. In court Adrian and Mike argue that tearing down the restaurant isn't a public benefit given the quality of the business. Opposing counsel argues the key case history is that the measure is quantitative not qualitative, to which Mike responds that in the case in question, nothing ended up happening with the property. The judge ultimately rules against Louis and Mike, saying he has no basis to create new law. Eva tells Harvey she enjoyed working with Nick and is upset that he has shown such disloyalty. She thinks that bribing Nick is the way to handle the situation, to which Harvey responds that putting her in a situation to offer yet another bribe must b Cameron's plan. While enjoying mud baths Mike tells Louis he knows what's going on. Despite how nice he's being now, Mike remembers what kind of scumbag Louis has been in the past. Louis tells Mike he "makes him want to be a better man." Mike has revelation that there is already a provision in the law that could work for them. Harvey pays Nick a visit at his hotel room. Instead of offering a bribe Harvey appeals to his conscious, telling Nick that he'll regret this for the rest of his life. Louis and Mike go in front of the judge again, this time introducing a new, inflated evaluation of the property. Donna tells Rachel about Harvey giving his blessing to poach Mike. Rachel wants her to convince Harvey to take Mike back, but Donna is still very upset about Mike's disloyalty. Donna leaves and Mike walks into the conference room, telling Rachel that he and Louis have a shot at their case. Rachel mentions going to Donna, a move which Mike thinks was a mistake. Mike tells her Harvey forbid him from telling her his secret. Mike storms into Harvey's office and tells him it's time to get past this. Harvey responds that he didn't give Louis permission to go after him to punish Mike, he did it because the two of them are done. Harvey and Jessica talk on the roof. She admits to lying to him about Eva and they have it out regarding the merger, Mike's history, her blackmail, etc. He asks if she'd act the same way if she had it to do over again. We see some pre-deposition trash talking between Harvey and Cameron that involves the revelation he's leaked the tape and Eva is at the risk of losing her company. Rachel and Donna lay everything on the line. Rachel is hurt that Harvey influenced her relationship with Mike. Donna ups the ante by admitting she recommended to Mike that he should try and get past Rachel. Rachel is furious when Donna says this happened after she told him she and Mike had kissed. Rachel thinks Donna chose work over their friendship. During the deposition Harvey and Jessica rip Nick apart, implying that he could have been acting on his own in order to take over the company. They are giving him a taste of what things will be like in court. Louis drops by Mike's place to say they won the case. He tells Mike that Harvey doesn't love the law the way he does. Harvey cares more about winning than anything and thinks Mike should spend some time working for lawyer who cares more about law than victory. Cameron tracks Harvey down after the deposition. Harvey's strategy worked and he's ready to deal. The deal he offers is a huge win for Eva, but requires her pleading guilty (instead of no contest). This allows Cameron to feel as if he's won a technical victory, something which obviously bothers Harvey. Jessica convinces Harvey that the deal is what they were offering in he beginning with only a cosmetic change. He should take the deal because they've already won. Mike and Rachel make up. Harvey and Eva have a conversation about losing her No. 2 which sounds very much like his situation with Mike. Donna comes in afterwards and says that perhaps he should consider forgiving Mike given everything that happened is Jessica's fault. Mike goes to Louis' office and the two basically agree to team up. Louis leaves to get him a gift and Harvey pops in. Harvey tells him he should go back where he belongs. The two high-five and we see a despondent Louis throw a celebratory cake in the trash.

Louis is still bitter over Mike leaving him at the alter and returning to Harvey. Harvey asks Louis to work the attempted takeover of Eva's company. He also suggests Louis look at taking on a "rebound associate." At first he dismisses the idea, but after further colloquy, considers it. Rachel apologizes to Donna for the things she said and the two appear to make up. Eva asks Harvey to work for her. She wants him to replace her No. 2. During the conversation Cameron arrives and places Eva under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder. Cameron tells Harvey that six people were killed by the colonel Eva paid off to secure her pipeline. The charges are bogus and it appears Cameron simply wants to beat Harvey. Katrina brings Louis research in order to convince him to put her on the case. When he realizes she isn't interested in being his personal associate he tells her to get lost. Harvey brings Mike to see Eva in jail. He badgers her in order to help prepare her for what will come from the other side. She knew very little about the deaths other than the fact they took place. Eva wants to know whether Harvey thinks she did it and he convinces her not to ask the question. Katrina sneaks into Harvey's office and attempts to place a file with a strategy for beating Cameron. Mike stops her and makes it clear that he's back and working all of Harvey's cases with him. Donna walks in and backs Mike up, making the situation very clear to Katrina. Jessica and Harvey talk about being duped by Cameron. Harvey makes sure she's okay with Mike being back on his team and she lets Mike know everything is fine. Mike suggests using the bail hearing to double cross Cameron. During the bail hearing Harvey challenges Cameron with making the case personal. The conversation moves to judge's chamber where Harvey tells her Cameron has no concrete evidence. She won't throw it out but sets bail at one dollar. Stephen Huntley, a "fixer" from the London office, shows up in New York to see Harvey. Harvey thinks he's there to hijack his case. Huntley says he's there to help with "cultural integration" and wants Harvey's help. Harvey has no interest. Jessica tells Harvey she wants him to figure out what Huntley is up to. Donna appears to be interested in Huntley. Katrina makes an attempt to apologize to Mike. He's not having it and she guesses it has to do with her treatment of Rachel, which she finds interesting. Harvey and Huntley have dinner. He demands the truth about why he's in New York. Huntley says he's there on behalf of Darby to help him take over the firm from Jessica. Huntley says he doesn't have aspirations for taking over the firm himself. Cameron drops by with a list of witnesses who saw the colonel present during the murders. Mike tells Rachel about the interaction with Katrina. This leads to a somewhat awkward discussion of whether the two of them are boyfriend and girlfriend. They make it official. Just then a firm-wide E-mail is circulated that makes Mike look like an idiot, using audio Katrina took during their conversation. It is a cartoon video where Mike is presented as Harvey's baby. Katrina is in Louis' office, saying that she's helped make Mike Ross the bigger fool. She now needs him to take her on or she'll be "done." Mike tells Rachel "this means war." Harvey and Mike meet with Eva. They present a legal strategy that involves attacking the credibility of the witnesses. But Eva wants to pay them off and avoid a trial. When Harvey says he won't do it, she fires him and says she'll find someone who will. Rachel has gained access to Katrina's Facebook account to acquire pictures. Harvey tells Mike they should still be working on Eva's defense, since Cameron will be expecting this and they're going to have to bail her out at some point. He also tells Mike not to respond to Katrina. Harvey tells Katrina she'll never climb any further in the firm and if she ever goes after Mike again he'll find a way to fire her. Rachel tells Mike what happened between Harvey and Katrina. This conversation gives Mike an idea. Mike thinks the plan should be to get the witnesses to sue them in civil court. They can then settle out of court with non-disclosure agreements -- a type of legal bribe. The plan is to get them to use PTSD. Harvey sees Huntley and Eva taking the elevator together and is immediately furious. He confronts Huntley, who tells him that he advises Eva not to bribe the witnesses and to stick with her Harvey. Harvey tells Jessica about Huntley getting Eva back. Mike brings his plan to Eva. She wants to know whether Mike has a sense of what Harvey thinks about her guilt or innocence. He doesn't betray Harvey and Eva is impressed. Huntley is starting to win Donna over. Louis asks Katrina to help him on the case. She thanks him. Harvey and Mike share a drink for the first time ever. Mike says he knows both he and Harvey believe Eva is guilty of the murders. Harvey tells Mike about his deal with Darby to take over the firm.
4Conflict of Interest
06 Aug 2013Description ▼
Open with Harvey and Louis arriving at the office having just learned they are 48 hours away from a vote on Eva's company. The two of them and their respective associates discuss how to handle the situation. Harvey doesn't want her speaking to the press but Louis has already arranged an interview with the Wall Street Journal. Mike pretends to be Eva's assistant and gets the reporter into his car. Harvey tells Eva the interview is off and she says she doesn't like being muzzled. She hates that she hasn't made a statement defending herself but eventually agrees to let Harvey make the call. Rachel and Donna argue over which one of them they think Huntley has a thing for. Donna tells her he asked her out and she turned him down. Louis yells at Harvey for shutting down the interview and Harvey reminds him that this is still his case. Louis points out that his client is Hessington Oil. Jessica thinks the better move is for Eva to step down and tells both men it is her decision. Harvey says it actually isn't her call because it's really Darby's case. Harvey assigns Mike to "Katrina duty" to make sure she and Louis don't screw them over somehow. Louis goes to Jessica in private and asks her to let him be her "black swam," to do the things she can't do. She turns him down. In an incredibly flirty manner Huntley asks Donna to help him with his work load while he's in town. She agrees, in an equally flirty manner. Louis asks Katrina to work closely with Mike to keep tabs on what he and Harvey are up to. Katrina suggests Louis go over Harvey head and speak with Jessica. He lies and says he doesn't work that way. Mike tells Katrina he's working on finding dirt on Tony. She thinks he's going about it the wrong way and accidentally gives Mike an idea. They see eye-to-eye on a strategy. Jessica goes to see Darby in Montreal. She wants him to make it clear to Harvey that she is in charge. Darby doesn't agree and thinks Jessica is overstepping. He's not budging on Eva. Louis loves Katrina and Mike's strategy. She has to admit it was Mike's idea and thinks he should bring Mike with him to his Tony meeting. The idea being that Mike will see him beat up Tony and the story will make its way back to Jessica. Harvey then walks in and tells Louis that Mike is coming with him when he goes to see Tony. Harvey tries to throw Louis off the case but Louis responds forcefully that Eva would never support diverting resources from her murder trial. Eva tells Harvey and Mike she wants to speak at her own trial. Harvey thinks she'll be ripped to shreds by Cameron if she takes the stand and promises to show her. Louis seems to get shot down by one of Tony's underlings when he arrives for a meeting. Louis thinks Tony's company will be in trouble with the FTC over some of their holdings, but he's told that Tony is buddies with the FTC commissioner. It sounds as if Tony is one step ahead. Mike and Katrina appear to be getting along better on a personal level. Mike offers a handshake and a truce, which she accepts. Donna tells Rachel she's got a date of some kind with Huntley. Louis tells Jessica that he wants off the case because Louis has handcuffed him with regard to the correct play of Eva stepping down. She responds by giving her blessing for him to go to the board and get to them to remove Eva. Huntley tells Donna that after the play they'll be having dinner with Daniel Day-Lewis. She responds by saying they aren't going to the theater and the couple grabs a cab. Harvey and Mike conduct a practice cross examination of Eva. She emotionally tells them her company made paid extra money for the pipeline so that any family hurt by the project would be made whole. She's also planning to shutdown the entire project, including the pipeline, after the trial is over. After Eva leaves the two men realize that Eva didn't have anything to do with the murders. Louis meets with a board member about removing Eva and says it's the only way to beat Tony. They strike up a deal and he agrees to retain Louis' firm afterwards. Mike tells Katrina what happened with Eva and the fact she didn't actually do it. Mike is certain Eva is telling the truth and shows her tape of their questioning. Katrina finds Louis, who tells him that Eva will be removed the next day. She shows him Eva's interview. Harvey tells Mike they need to get Eva to speak to the board the following day before the scheduled meeting. Louis tells Jessica Eva had nothing to do with the murders. Louis doesn't want to be responsible for helping an innocent woman lose her company, but Jessica doesn't care. All that matters to her is the takeover vote and the market. Clearly Donna and Huntley had an enjoyable evening and make plans to do it again. Donna tells Rachel she hadn't considered what Harvey will think. The next day Eva surprises Harvey with word that she's been voted out. She's also furious that Hessington Oil retained his firm. Eva therefore thinks Harvey was the only person who benefited. Harvey is mad at Jessica for going behind him and tells her she made a mistake giving Darby 51 percent in the first place. He thinks it's personal with her because she can't be No. 2. Harvey isn't happy to learn Donna was doing work for Huntley. She chokes on telling him what's going on between them. Katrina makes it clear to Mike that she's committed to Louis. He seems to respect that. Rachel walks by after she leaves and asks about their apparent bonding. Mike tells Rachel he loves her and she says the same. A furious Darby comes to New York to tell him he doesn't like that she went behind his back. She thinks he holds the 51/49 thing over her too much and reminds him she just won the firm $14 million.
5Shadow of a Doubt
13 Aug 2013Description ▼
Open with Harvey upset that Donna's not in the office to give up some paperwork. We see that she's in bed with Huntley and the new couple's fling seems to be going quite well. Harvey and Mike go before a judge with Cameron. Cameron has done enough to convince the judge there is some evidence Eva was connected to the murders and the trial is set for two weeks. Donna tells Rachel she's still worried about telling Harvey about Huntley. Rachel thinks it'll be fine, so long as the relationship doesn't compromise her work. Mike and Harvey decide they need to get Cameron off the case. A prosecutor without an axe to grind with Harvey would certainly drop the case. The goal is to prove Cameron colluded with Gianopoulos to take over Eva's company. Louis is upset when he learns Nigel has been communicating with the associates via memo. He orders an associate re-do some work, which contradicts Nigel's orders. Huntley tells Harvey his deal with Darby is still in place so long as he wins the murder trial. Huntley takes a look at the guys' plan to sue Gianopoulos and bets Harvey ten grand he can do better. Harvey promptly kicks Mike off the case and brings on Huntley. Rachel tells Mike about Donna and Huntley. Mike asks Rachel to help him with a new case, going after Graeme Stinton, an accountant who embezzled $30 million from the firm's clients. Nigel shows up at Louis' club and confronts him about meddling with his associates. They argue over the best way to mold young lawyers. Harvey and Huntley meet with Gianopoulos. Their plan is for Huntley to sue him in London and keep him tied up in the legal system. They will basically be an annoyance unless he comes clean about Cameron leaking him the videotape. Prior to an interview with Stinton's associate Rachel seems to hint that she doesn't want Mike to meet her parents. She's worried they'll find out his secret. Donna tells Harvey about Huntley. He's fine with it so long as she doesn't work for him. Stinton's associate, Clark, says she doesn't believe he manipulated the numbers. When she refers to Stinton by his first name Rachel realizes she's been sleeping with him. They say they'll put her on the stand if she doesn't get Stinton to give the money back. Nigel makes paperweights for all the associates that make fun of something Louis said to him. Louis confronts Nigel about crossing the line but the conversation is interrupted when Nigel's cat jumps on the desk. Louis loves cats and gets along with the animal immediately. Jessica tells Harvey that several important clients have just fired the firm. Gianopoulos purchased the companies for the express purpose of firing Harvey's firm. Harvey's lost the firm more money in a day than he ever won for it in a month. Rachel invites Mike to dinner with her parents. Harvey meets with Eva. Gianopoulos has been dumping stock, losing tens of millions of dollars. She furious when she learns he picked a fight with Gianopoulos. Eva says she'd rather do prison time than have Gianopoulos take over her company. Dinner with Rachel's parents seems to go well. Both of them like Mike and Rachel's mother tells her husband not to grill Mike. Huntley tells Harvey the reason Gianopoulos is acting this way is because he subpoenaed the man's daughter. Harvey thinks Huntley went way too far and the two argue. Huntley brings up Donna and the discussion gets more heated. Harvey kicks Huntley off the case. Donna's father and Mike share a scotch. Inside Rachel's mother tells her daughter everything will be okay if she loves him. Harvey tells Jessica about Huntley's screw-up and says he needs help. She suggests they have Eva sell Gianopoulos her shares in exchange for voting rights. In exchange Gianopoulos gives up Cameron. During the conversation Rachel's dad asks Mike what he thinks about Rachel applying to Stanford. Mike had no idea she was looking at a West coast school. Stinton approaches Mike and Rachel. He's just married Clark, which legally means she wouldn't have to testify against him. They plan to challenge the validity of the marriage. Donna is upset with Huntley for throwing their relationship in Harvey's face. He apologizes and says he wants to continue seeing her. She's going to think about it. Eva is reluctant to sell shares to Gianopoulos. She relays her experience merging with Darby and thinks Eva should do what she needs to in order to keep her company. Jessica also suggests she could get out of the deal down the road. An angry Mike confronts Rachel about Stanford. She's got an interview at the end of the week which only makes Mike angrier. He thinks she was afraid to tell him she might want to go to school across the country. Nigel asks Louis to cat-sit for a few weeks. Louis agrees. Harvey has good news for Jessica. In an effort to protect himself, Cameron never actually showed Gianopoulos the tape. But he left him along in a room with the tape. Louis tells Donna he was up all night with Nigel's high-maintenance cat. And he loved it. Harvey confronts Cameron about his goof with regarding to chain of custody with the tape. But despite this making his case almost impossible to win, Cameron still isn't going to drop the charges. Mike tells Rachel he wants them to do bad cop-bad cop. They tell Clark they are charging Stinton with stealing, a 15-year sentence and her with accessory after the fact, a 5-year sentence. The charges will be files in Connecticut, a state which doesn't stop married couples from testifying against one another. If she trusts him, Mike says, she should go to jail and hope he's waiting for her when he gets out. Rachel adds that there is nothing worse than having a deception hanging over a relationship. Clark tells her she'll get them the money back. Huntley congratulates Harvey on getting the tape thrown out and getting Eva her job back. He's thinks its funny Harvey got Jessica to help dig her own grave. Mike drops by Rachel's place. He thinks her advice to Clark was related to their situation. She says it has occurred to her that Stanford might be the fresh start she needs. She wants the freedom to make the decision on her own. Jessica tells Harvey she plans to make him a name partner. His name will be on the wall the following morning. Darby is treating her the way she treated him and she wants them to be on the same side.

Open with Harvey promising Donna he'll make Huntley pay. Harvey tells Mike they need to wait on telling Eva about Huntley. Darby assures Harvey and Jessica that he has no idea what Huntley did. He can't testify because he never asked Huntley about his actions. Jessica wants him to do her a favor. Huntley tells Donna the people who were killed were terrorists. He reminds her that her firm does quite a bit of dirty work of its own. She tells him that he's been fired at the personal request of Darby. Louis begins busting heads with the associates. Rachel reminds him that the associates essentially chose him over Nigel. Mike talks his way to Moriga's door and gives his security detail a rugby pic of him and Huntley, saying he's Huntley's nephew. Louis pays Harold visit, telling him he has information related to his firing. Moriga agrees to see Mike. Moriga tells him that if he had proof Huntley ordered the murders he would be using it. Mike reminds him that if he's sent back home he'll be killed by his own people. He's sticking with Cameron only because he has a deal in place. Harvey meets with Cameron and tells him "man to man" he's going after the wrong person. He says Moriga can tell him who really ordered the murders, but he'll have to change his deal. Cameron isn't interested in trusting Harvey and wants to hear it from him first. An angry Harold confronts Mike about having been lied to regarding the way his career at the firm ended. Rachel tells Louis a computer company represented by Harold is suing him. Donna is upset that Harvey is waiting to go after Huntley. Moriga takes the stand and testifies that Eva directed him to kill him. He tells the jury that if what he says turns out to be a lie he'll be sent to his home country and killed quickly. Harvey is getting nervous that the jury is buying what Moriga is selling on the stand. He wants to go after Huntley and tells Jessica about approaching Cameron. Huntley walks in and says if he's put on the stand he'll go after Eva. Harvey calls Huntley to the stand, telling Cameron he's giving him the bad guy. Huntley basically takes the fifth on just about everything but upon cross talks about Eva trying to bribe witnesses. Afterwards Eva makes it clear to Mike isn't happy to learn Harvey took a calculated risk with her life without telling her. Harvey finds Cameron on the street and yells at him for screwing him. Cameron isn't convinced Huntley is the guy. Harold finds Louis waiting for him in his office. Louis basically runs him over, allowing just one of provisions Harold had requested in his suit. Eva confronts Darby about keeping Huntley from her. She slaps him when he confirms it. After Eva leaves Darby asks Jessica to find a way to help him help Eva. Cut to Jessica dropping by Harvey's place and saying she wants to forgive him for everything. They begin to work on a plan. Harvey goes to Mike's place and tells him the new strategy is for him to go to Cameron and remind him of the time he convicted the wrong guy. Mike asks Clifford to speak with Cameron. He wants him to tell Cameron that what he did to him has virtually ruined his life. Mike reminds Clifford he broke the law to get him out. Rachel tells Louis that Harold basically pulled one over him, since the clause he agreed to opens up a window to liability. Louis is furious. Mike brings Clifford to see Cameron. A confident Harold is waiting for Louis in his office. Louis's tactic is to bog Harold down with numerous legal tricks designed to show his new firm his professional weaknesses. It won't win Louis' case but it will probably get Harold fired. Cameron offers Eva eight years. After he leaves the room Jessica says she thinks Cameron has the upper hand and they should take the deal. Darby disagrees and then offers to perjure himself. Harvey doesn't think it will work, but Jessica thinks they can try to convince Cameron. Harvey and Darby meet with Cameron in a bathroom. They offer Darby accepting an obstruction of justice charge if the charge against Eva is dropped. He accepts because it seems to be a guaranteed win. Donna goes to see Huntley at a bar with the FBI. He's placed in custody. Jessica and Harvey turn the tables on Darby, adding a clause to his deal that he can no longer practice law in the United States. Harvey reminds Cameron that ultimately he's most concerned with putting the bad guy away. Rachel shows Louis that Harold has dropped his suit. She asks why he hates Harold so much. Louis tells her it goes back to the fact Harold is his one great failure at training associates. He ultimately agrees with her and rips up the notice that Harold dropped the suit. He's going to give Harold the win. Donna thanks Harvey. He gives her use of his car and goes for a walk.

Open with Rachel and Mike's relationship seeming to be going as strong as ever. Harvey picks Donna up in his car and takes her out for breakfast and a shopping trip. He says they deserve a celebration. Louis tells Jessica he wants to handle the dissolution of the merger. He promises he'll get her everything she has coming, and more. Harvey walks in with Darby's terms, furious that Darby thinks he can dictate to them. When Harvey learns Louis wants to run the dissolution he is dismissive. Jessica asks Louis to leave the room and tells him he needs to act differently as a name partner. She says she's going to put Louis "in at quarterback, then snap the ball to you." Harvey tells Mike whichever side has more revenue at the time of dissolution will be able to dictate terms. The plan then is for them to get as much from Darby's side as possible. Harvey suggests they need a client that wants to keep their crown and suggests Samsung. Jessica tells Louis she's going to let him handle the dissolution. She tells him that they're going after Darby's clients and wants him to play fair during negotiations. She authorizes him to sign on her behalf but her one request is that he does not lock in the current client allocations. Mike and Rachel get into an argument about things that irritate her when he spends time at her place. It gets tense and Mike ends up blowing her off. Louis tells Katrina about the strategy for the negotiations. Her job is to make sure he doesn't get out of control while negotiating with Nigel. The two enter an office and begin speaking with him. Nigel tells Louis he never read his cat the letters Louis sent. When he then rips up a picture Louis sent to the cat Louis loses his cool and sends Katrina out of the room. He tells Nigel everything is on the table, including current client allocations. Harvey speaks with Scottie outside Samsung. Darby told her that if she beats Harvey she'll become a name partner. During the conversation she gets a text that the client list has just been locked. Mike apologizes to Rachel. He says he thinks the reason he was so upset is that he wishes they weren't always at her place. She doesn't like his place because it reminds her of him sleeping with Tess. He has a solution. Harvey storms into Louis' office and rips him a new one. Louis has no real answer, admitting he dropped the ball. Harvey tells Louis he was finally given a chance and totally blew it. Mike brings Rachel into his grandmother's apartment, which he's kept. He says some incredibly romantic things and says he wants them to move in together. Harvey, Mike and Jessica decide their is only option now is to get a previously case to pay sooner and add it to their numbers. The best option is Fulsome Foods, which is represented by Robert Zane, Rachel's father. Mike visits Zane on the golf course. He offers his client a 20 percent discount on the settlement if they pay one quarter earlier. Robert doesn't have any interest, primarily because he doesn't want to help Harvey and Jessica. Mike wonders how Rachel will feel that her father is being a jerk to the man she loves. Katrina has figured out a similar strategy to the one pursued by Harvey and Mike, getting new revenue from an existing client. Louis pays a visit to Tony Giannopoulos' right-hand man. He's fiddled with the man's personal finances in a way that will mean he'll never have to pay taxes again. The idea is to prove what a wizard he is with numbers. The guy is impressed, but says Giannopoulos will never agree to a larger relationship because Louis is a nobody. Louis is devastated. Harvey tells Mike this his tactic with Zane worked, they've gotten a check from Fulsome from the rest of what they owed them. Harvey returns home to find Scottie waiting for him. In order to save her career she asks him to exclude Fulsome from the settlement numbers. She gives him her word that she won't screw him. Rachel learns from her father than Mike used her to help get one over on him. Zane seems very impressed with Mike, but Rachel isn't happy. A very upset Rachel goes to see Mike. She tells him her father loved what he did, but she doesn't feel the same way. She'd been thinking of moving in with him but now wants to take more time. Jessica asks Harvey about excluding the payment from the settlement. He admits his personal relationship with Scottie is part of it, but says completely severing ties with Darby could pay dividends if he means he'll have no need to come after them. Jessica gives her approval. Katrina thinks Louis should take his strategy to Giannopoulos and have him use his high-profile name to finish the job. Louis doesn't think Harvey needs the help anymore. But Katrina knows something he doesn't. Donna tells Harvey they've been fired by Hessington Oil. Harvey is sure that Scottie has screwed him. Donna wants him to pick up the phone and ask Scottie, but Harvey won't do it. He says he's going to find a way to get back at Scottie. Louis brings Harvey his Giannopoulos gameplan. Harvey is impressed and tells Louis that he respects him as an attorney. Louis is emotional. Harvey tells Louis to join him when the meet with Giannopoulos. Mike and Donna talk about Rachel. Donna thinks Mike should give her some time. Harvey and Louis meet with Giannopoulos. He agrees to a large partnership with their firm, very much aware that it is part of the firm's dissolution. Mike goes to see Rachel and tells her to take as much time as she needs. She tells him she got into Stanford. Scottie goes to see Harvey and says she had nothing to do with Hessington firing them. He doesn't believe her and refuses to take back what he's done. She then says she'll do whatever she can to stop the merger, which would cripple the firm. Jessica walks in and validates that Scottie was telling the truth. Hessington Oil fired them because Eva is suing the firm for malpractice.

Open with Harvey apologizing to Scottie. He tells her to honor the dissolution agreement and put all the liability on Darby. He thinks Darby International is done if they go to a jury and she needs to get out now. She instead asks him to help her figure out how to fight the suit together. Things have gotten awkward between Mike and Rachel, who wants to figure out which law school is best for her before even considering her relationship with him. He's upset that she wants to decide between Stanford and Columbia "in a vacuum." Jessica tells Harvey they don't stand a chance arguing the case on its merits. She wants them to offer their testimony to Eva in exchange for taking their names off the lawsuit. Harvey knows this will piss off Scottie. Harvey shows up for his meeting with Eva and finds Tanner there instead. He is Eva's counsel. He says Eva isn't interested in "letting you off the hook" and doesn't want him to testify against Darby. The two engage in some trash-talking during which Harvey reminds Tanner he's 0-2 against him. Mike asks Harvey for an assignment and Harvey figures out he's got girlfriend issues. Louis and Sheila are "hanging out" again, so to speak. Scottie tells Jessica she wants to be part of Harvey's deposition. Jessica doesn't think it's a good idea because he'll have dirt on Scottie and Harvey. Mike tells Rachel he doesn't think long distance relationships work. He tells her if she chooses Stanford it essentially means their relationship is over. Post-coitus Sheila tells Louis there is a Harvard graduate named Brian she's been saving for him. He's perfect for the firm. She wants them to spend the day together. He declines, saying he can't be unfaithful to his firm. She looks hurt. Jessica asks Donna about Mike and Rachel. She's worried that Mike told Rachel's father his secret. Mike goes to Harvey and asks him for advice how to not let women get to him. Harvey says he's not the best person to ask about love and gives Mike the morning off. Louis finds out the Brian candidate is fielding offers from eight different firms and is upset. Sheila says she needs a commitment from him and says if she wants to take Brian away from Louis' firm she will. Harvey speaks with Eva before the deposition. She admits that she was the one who approached Tanner, picking somebody who he can't intimidate. She is upset that Harvey doesn't seem sorry about the way he handled her case. During the deposition Tanner tells Harvey he has evidence he knew Huntley had the murders committed. Tanner tells Scottie about Harvey trying to cut a deal behind her back. Tanner goes after Harvey and Scottie's relationship, making sure to drop the information that Scottie was engaged when they got together the last time. Mike tells Rachel he's going to give her space to make the law school decision. Talking to Harvey let him know he'd lose her if he made an ultimatum. He says he thinks they'll make it work Scottie yells at Harvey for trying to cut a deal. She wants to know whose idea it was and Harvey says it was Jessica's. He never wanted to go behind her back but didn't feel he had a choice. He tells her she doesn't have a choice either. Louis talks to Mike about Sheila. After telling Mike what happened he realizes Sheila was telling him she wanted to be exclusive and he missed the signal. Tanner comes to Scottie with an offer. She says she won't betray him and he responds by saying he's going to depose her. During Tanner's deposition of Scottie he asks for more particulars of Scottie and Harvey's romantic past. He pulls out an affidavit from Huntley saying Scottie knew about everything from the beginning. Huntley has turned on her. Donna asks Mike to go with her to see Huntley. Huntley says he wasn't offered anything from Darby to provide his misleading statement about Scottie. Donna asks for a minute alone and during that time Huntley admits he's lying about Scottie. She asks him not to do what he's doing but he says he has no choice. She and Mike get up and reveal to Huntley that everything said in that room is recorded. Donna leaves a file on Harvey's desk with the statement Huntley made abut lying. Jessica stops unexpectedly at Mike's apartment. She asks about Robert Zane and wants him to get Rachel to sign a affidavit that puts her in jeopardy along with him. If she doesn't sign it he's fired. Louis sends Sheila an exclusivity proposal. She's pissed at the impersonal nature of the move and rips it up. She wants him to figure out where she'll be the following night. Tanner tells Harvey he doesn't care about Huntley. His plan is to drag Scottie through the mud to the point her career will be over. The only way Harvey can stop it is to settle. Harvey shows Scottie the settlement he got from Tanner. She doesn't want to sign it, but he thinks she should. He says Tanner can only come after her because Eva is letting him as a way to get to him. If she "takes the shackles" off he'll be able to convince her that her fight is really with Darby. Scottie agrees. Mike tells Rachel about the affidavit. He thinks the only way out of the problem is for her to go to Stanford. During a deposition of Eva, Harvey and Jessica reveal to Tanner that they've split with Darby. Jessica reminds Eva that they have witnesses that she asked Harvey to bribe witnesses on her behalf. Harvey turns off the camera and apologizes to Eva for not listening to her. But he emphasizes that everything he did was in her best interest. It works. Tanner has been beaten. Mike tells Harvey about the ultimatum given to him and Rachel by Jessica. He says he doesn't want Rachel to leave. Rachel goes to see Jessica. She asks Jessica to waive the Harvard rule for her and guarantee her a spot at the firm when she graduates. Harvey and Scottie have drinks at his place to celebrate the win. He says he wants to work with her and asks her to join him at the firm. He then admits "I want you in my life." Rachel goes to see Mike. She tells him Stanford is the better fit, but she's not going to go. She's going to stay. Louis finds Sheila in her "home," her work library that contains a file with every Harvard Law School student. They agree to be exclusive. She leaves to call her mother and makes him promise not to touch any of the files. He immediately goes for Harvey's file, laughing at the picture. He then wants to find Mike's student pic, but doesn't see it in there. "He's not here," Louis says with sneer.
