Born and raised in Los Angeles, Hector sold oranges and collected cans alongside his mother to make ends meet; thus, was branded 'Hector the can collector' by school peers. After years of being chased by gangs while walking to school, he inevitably immersed himself into the street lifestyle, which led to incarceration. When released from L.A. county jail, he was told, "see you next week," by a guard. This infused him to enroll in a local junior college. He then found himself carrying a sword on stage as 'Don John the Bastard' in Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing"; life had granted him a second chance. Many plays later, he graduated with honors and A.A. degreed in theatre. He was then admitted into USC's theatre program, where he graduated cum laude with a B.F.A. degree and received the Jack Nicholson Award for Best Actor. A European theatre tour followed: London, Paris, and Scotland's legendary Edinburgh Fringe Festival. After months on the road, this kid who once sold oranges, came home to his native Los Angeles in search of the Hollywood silver screen dream...
