Dr. Seuss' The Lorax

As the "Roxy" was celebrating a birthday and movies were half price - took my 10 year old to see The Lorax.I would have to say I came out feeling relieved it had only been half price ;Thats about all the movie was worth.
While my daughter liked it ; without doubt it was not 'full length' movie material.The whole message about 'save the planet' has been well done by other animators, and by and large rather better ;
I thought The lorax was a sort of second rate WALLE ; which had a better storyline/continuity. To drag things out in The lorax, the boy/hero had to go back three times to hear the story from the ineffectual / un scary Bad guy, of how and why he had cut down the forset.This could have easily been completed in one scene -
The grandmothers character was one of the few that they tried to develop, but even that was too litttle too late ;By and large the other characte rs were all rather un-spectacular - The Bears were OK, perhaps the highlight of the movie ;
In my view a movie that meant well, but was little more than a glorified trailer ! more
